"Remember, I can't protect you forever. If you don't learn to protect yourself, they'll take not only the candy but everything away. Then, you'll starve and end up as thin as them. You'll be covered in dirt and smell, and even become a beggar." Although those children didn't choose to become beggars, they had no other choice in a cruel world after the apocalypse. Harrison asked Lily to look into the boy's eyes. The beaten boy's eyes were reddened by emotions as he glowered at her. She didn't understand. He took my candy! It's not right!
