Alpha Raelyn: The Alpha They Never Saw Coming

Chapter 64 First Clash at the Bar

Just as I was still sighing over Aiden and Geraldine, a message pinged across my screen. It was from Jackson. “Raelynn, I’ve finished preparing the Sandal Wood. Let me know when you want to pick it up.” Only then did I remember—I’d left the Sandal Wood with Jackson. It was for Tempest’s new formula. “I’ll head over now. Let’s meet at the bar.” He replied with a quick “Got it.” I shut my laptop, gathered my things, and was about to leave when I bumped right into Aiden at the front door. “Where are you going?” he asked. I scoffed. “Where I go isn’t any of your business, is it?” He frowned slightly, clearly caught off guard. “It’s already seven. Why are you heading out this late?” I gave him a cold look. “I’ll say it again—my whereabouts have nothing to do with you. Maybe focus on your own issues instead.” His brows tightened for a second, then slowly relaxed. “You’re talking about earlier?” I gave a bitter laugh. “Mr. Aiden is so busy, how could I possibly have the right to question him? Why not worry about your beloved ex, Geraldine, instead?” The moment I said her name, the air between us dropped several degrees. “Who told you her name?” he asked, his voice low and sharp. I let out a snort. “Aiden, is there anything I can’t find out?” He drew a deep breath. “I don’t care who told you or how you found out. Just don’t bring her up again. And don’t dig into her business.” I took a step back, staring at him coldly. “Relax. I couldn’t care less about your ex.” And with that, I brushed past him and walked out of the Eclipse Pack estate. In the cab on the way to the Dark Night Bar, emotions churned restlessly in my chest—frustration, disappointment, confusion… I couldn’t even tell anymore. All I knew was: I wasn’t happy. Aiden had always been distant. I could live with that. But for him to lash out at me over Geraldine? That stung. When I arrived, Jackson instantly noticed something was off. He popped a bottle of red wine and slid it across the counter. “Raelynn, who pissed you off? Someone at Eclipse Pack?” I downed half a glass. “Nothing. Just drink with me tonight—I’m not going back.” Jackson nodded, but added, “By the way, there’s something important. Thanks to our deal with Eclipse Corporation, Blue&Co’s domestic presence is overtaking the overseas side. It might be time to move HQ here.” “I don’t care. Do whatever you want,” I said, clearly not in the mood. I kept drinking. Glass after glass. But no matter how much I drank, I couldn’t get drunk. Then a faint scent of perfume drifted by. I looked up—and there she was. A familiar stranger in white, smiling down at me. “You must be Raelynn.” I raised my brow, taking another sip. “Ms. Sophia. What brings you here?” “I just wanted to talk,” she said sweetly, sliding into the seat next to me. Her eyes shifted to Jackson, and a flicker of hesitation passed through her expression. I sighed and turned to Jackson. “Give us a minute.” He got up and left without question. Sophia gave him an approving nod, then looked back at me. “Ms. Raelynn, I’ve heard quite a lot about you. You certainly know how to command attention.” I smiled faintly. “You’re giving me too much credit. I’m just an Omega.” She covered her mouth and chuckled. “An ordinary Omega? I doubt it. You’ve got half the powerful wolves in the city wrapped around your finger. Not to mention your talent and charm. Even I’m a little tempted.” This girl’s sarcasm was practically an art form. The words sounded flattering—but the sharpness underneath wasn’t even subtle. “So? Ms. Sophia didn’t come all this way just to compliment me, right?” Her eyes sparkled, and she dropped the act. “You’re clever. I’ll be direct.” I lifted my glass. “Please do.” “I’m sure you know who I am. My sister and Aiden were in love for years. So I hope you won’t wedge yourself between them.” I actually laughed at that. “There’s nothing between me and Aiden. So how could I possibly get in the way?” Wow. Confidence off the charts. Sophia smirked. “You’re smart, but I’ve got eyes. The way you look at each other—there’s something there. That’s why I’m here.” I rolled my eyes. “Relax. There’s nothing going on between me and Aiden.” “Good. I’m flying out tomorrow morning—8 a.m. But one last thing, my sister will be back soon. Within six months. So I suggest you keep your distance from Aiden. For your own sake.” With that, she rose and walked away. Geraldine is coming back? I stared into my glass, chuckled bitterly, and took another long drink. What does it matter to me, anyway?
