Alpha Raelyn: The Alpha They Never Saw Coming
Raelyn’s POV Lydia lifted her chin defiantly, trying to stay calm. “Raelyn, I’m not accusing you of anything. I’m just sharing my thoughts. If it wasn’t you, then prove it. Intimidating your coworkers isn’t a good look.” I pulled my gaze away and turned to the others. “Do you all need me to prove it?” A male colleague hesitated before speaking. “Raelyn, I believe in your character. I don’t think you’d do something like this, but…” Lydia cut him off, “Why not? Who wouldn’t want to be the top performer in the company? That way, you can steal the spotlight from everyone else.” I immediately fired back, “Lydia, the way you’re talking, it sounds like you understand the motive better than I do.” Her face went pale. “I-I didn’t mean it like that. Don’t twist my words. My computer… my computer crashed too!” She pointed at her computer and insisted, “Mine was the first to crash! I was in the middle of writing a project proposal and lost everything!” I raised an eyebrow. “Then may I take a look at your computer?” Lydia nodded confidently. “Of course. Go ahead. It’s already broken—there’s nothing to hide.” Seeing her so sure of herself, I smiled slightly. “Alright. Don’t regret it later.” I walked over and checked her computer. It didn’t take long for me to spot it: she’d been hit by a virus called Ephyra. Ephyra—notorious, once known as the king of viruses. There were only five people in the world capable of cracking it. And I was one of them. My fingers flew across the keyboard, lines of code and complex symbols scrolling rapidly down the screen. Then, under everyone’s watchful eyes, I broke the virus. As soon as the computer recovered, everyone saw what had been on Lydia’s screen—a half-finished doodle of a tiny frog.“So this was your so-called project proposal?” I mocked her without holding back. “You—! That might’ve been from the virus! Maybe it replaced my proposal with that frog!” Lydia flushed bright red as she tried to explain herself under the increasingly skeptical stares. “I really had a proper proposal. I have a backup—I can show you!” “Oh, a backup? Ms. Lydia, that’s impressive. What, you saw the virus coming and made a backup in advance?” I exposed her lie without hesitation. Realizing she couldn’t keep up the act any longer, Lydia’s expression twisted, and she started screaming. “Fine! I installed the virus! So what?! If it weren’t for you, Kendall would’ve been promoted by now, and I would’ve been next in line for this supervisor position! I’ve worked myself to the bone for this company for so many years! Maybe I didn’t have results, but I gave everything I had! And you—you Omega bitch—just waltz in and take it all? I won’t accept that!” I stared at her coldly. “So that’s why you unleashed a virus, crashed everyone’s computers, and tried to pin it on me? With your kind of attitude, no company would want you, much less promote you.” Then I looked to the assistant nearby. “Go notify the president. We’ve got a security threat in the office.” By the time Aiden arrived, Lydia was crouched on the ground, bawling her eyes out in complete humiliation. I looked at him and said, “Mr. Salvatore, one of your veteran employees tried to frame me. What do you think we should do?” His voice was icy. “I heard everything. According to company policy, Lydia is to be dismissed immediately.” Hearing that, Lydia lunged and clung to his leg. “President, please! Don’t fire me! I’ve been with this company for so long—I don’t want to leave! Please, just give me one more chance!” “I’ll give you one second to let go. If you don’t, getting fired will be the least of your problems.” Aiden’s cold aura radiated through the room. Terrified, Lydia let go immediately. And just like that, the farce ended with Lydia sneaking out of the company in shame. Seeing how rattled my colleagues were, I gave them a reassuring smile. “Don’t worry about your computers. I’ll help restore them now.” “Raelyn, that was amazing! You can even crack computer viruses? Is there anything you can’t do?” Everyone started praising me one after another.I smiled modestly. “I’ll create a patch on my computer and send it to everyone else. No need to worry.” “Raelyn, where’d you learn all this? It’s so cool!” I laughed shyly. “Nothing fancy. Just picked up a few tricks while studying abroad. Just surface-level stuff, really. Nothing impressive.” “Is nobody working anymore?” Aiden’s cold voice suddenly cut through. “Whoever isn’t back at their station in the next minute gets a one-month pay cut.” Everyone immediately shrank back and scurried to their desks. I looked at his stern face and couldn’t help but grin. “What, jealous?” “No one told you to stop working,” he replied, ignoring my teasing. I waved him off. “So boring.” Aiden narrowed his eyes at me, a sliver of suspicion creeping into his voice. “You’re a hacker?”
