Alpha Raelyn: The Alpha They Never Saw Coming
Raelyn’s POV Aiden’s words moved me deeply. The wolves chasing us were growing in number—there were already more than a dozen. And Aiden’s wolf was panting hard, nearing its limit. Suddenly, he came to a stop and let out a pained howl. I looked up—there was a massive cliff blocking our path. The black wolves caught up quickly and surrounded us completely. Edward roared furiously, unleashing his Alpha aura. He shook his back and gently placed me on the ground, shielding me with his body. “Raelyn, don’t be afraid. I won’t let them lay a finger on you.” Aiden’s voice echoed through our soul link. The wolves tightened their circle, eyes glowing fiercely. Aiden’s wolf bared its fangs, ready to fight. Just as a bloody battle was about to break out, the roar of a helicopter and wailing police sirens echoed from above. A fierce wind swept down from the sky, making the wolves hesitate and glance upward in alarm. Several police cars burst out from the forest, and more than ten high-ranking black wolves appeared around us. Jackson jumped down from one of the cars, shouting, “Raelyn! I’m here to get you out!” The wolves scattered in panic. I collapsed to the ground, finally able to breathe. Aiden shifted back into his human form. I leaned weakly against him and waved at Jackson. “Raelyn, are you alright?” Jackson rushed over, voice tight with worry. I rested against Aiden and waved my hand. “I’m fine. Thank you.” Aiden scooped me into his arms and said in a low voice, “She’s been poisoned with Wolfsbane. I’m taking her to the hospital. If there’s nothing else, Mr. Jackson, you should head back. I’ll take care of Raelyn.”“Well… alright.” Jackson glanced at me. Seeing that I didn’t object, he nodded. The werewolf police went after the fleeing attackers. Jackson left one car behind. Aiden carried me into it and personally drove us out of the forest. The entire ride, I tried to reach Freya again, but there was still no response. Worried the Wolfsbane might continue affecting me, Aiden kept glancing over, touching my forehead and gently patting my face to keep me alert. We finally returned to the city hospital around three in the morning. Aiden stormed into the ER carrying me in his arms, looking like a man possessed. Andrix happened to be on night duty. When he saw how filthy and battered we were, his eyes went wide. “What the hell happened to you two?” “Raelyn was kidnapped. We just got her out,” Aiden said, placing me on the medical bed. “She’s been exposed to Wolfsbane. Treat her immediately.” “Kidnapped?” Andrix rushed over and pulled out his stethoscope, placing it on my chest. “Why didn’t you notify the pack? Alpha should’ve handled this.” Aiden glanced at me, then answered calmly, “There was no time. Besides, bringing in the Alpha might’ve just made things worse.” Andrix nodded and began treating me. He hooked me up to an antidote IV. Thanks to my Alpha-level resistance, Freya stirred awake in my soul not long after the infusion began. Once I was stable, Andrix added a nutrient drip and left the room. Now it was just Aiden and me. His expression finally softened. He came to my bedside and asked gently, “Do you know who was behind it?” The memories of what happened hit me all over again. I looked at him coldly. “Didn’t you say you didn’t believe a word I said?” Aiden froze, staring into my eyes. Then he said softly, “I’m sorry.” I was stunned. Aiden… apologizing? The proud Alpha himself?Must be a blue moon tonight. But considering he just risked his life to save me, I decided not to make things harder. I sighed. “Fine. Apology accepted. But yes—it really was Taylor.” Aiden’s gaze turned sharp. “It was her?” I nodded. “She ambushed me in the garage after staking it out for three days. She hired a bunch of werewolves to kidnap me. She wanted to ruin me. Luckily, I was poisoned with Wolfsbane. They were too scared to touch me right away.” When he heard the word ruin, Aiden’s aura instantly turned icy. “She went too far. Don’t worry, Raelyn—I’ll make sure she pays for this.” I didn’t expect Aiden to take my side so firmly. It brought me a bit of comfort. Just then, the phone rang. Aiden glanced at the screen, then put it on speaker. “It’s Jackson.” “Raelyn, Mr. Salvatore, those werewolves confessed—Taylor was the one who gave the orders. The police are already heading to Midnight Pack. They’ll probably arrest her tonight.” “Got it.” After hanging up, Aiden looked at me and let out a sigh. “You should stay in the hospital and rest tonight.” I looked at him. “If I don’t go home, Mr. Robin will be worried.” Aiden’s tone grew a little stern. “You want to go back now? The toxins haven’t completely left your system. You want to end up in the hospital longer?” Please. I’m an Alpha. The toxins are already gone. But considering how serious this incident was, it’d be hard to justify not staying a couple of nights. Aiden meant well, so I nodded. “Then when you go back, tell Mr. Robin I’m staying at a friend’s for two days. Don’t tell him I was kidnapped.” I’ve already caused enough trouble for the Eclipse Pack’s Alpha. No need to worry him more. Aiden agreed and left the room.
