Alpha Raelyn: The Alpha They Never Saw Coming

Chapter 31 Pressed Against Instinct

Raelyn's POV: After dancing with Alex, I automatically scanned the room for Aiden—only to realize both he and Taylor had disappeared completely. Alex gave my shoulder a light tap, a small smile tugging at his lips. "Looking for my brother? I just saw him head upstairs with Taylor wrapped around him. Maybe they're..." He didn't finish, but I could fill in the blanks. A dull ache bloomed in my chest. "If you're that curious, why not go see for yourself?" Alex said casually, sipping his drink and locking eyes with me. "I'm not going." My tone was ice. Like hell I was going to crash whatever they were doing. Out of sight, out of mind. But right then, my phone lit up. Aiden had texted me—just two words: "Come up. 302." I clicked off the screen without thinking. Then, after a couple of seconds, unease crept in. Aiden's not the kind of guy who can't control himself. No way he'd hook up with someone in the middle of a party. I shot to my feet and made my way upstairs. Aiden's POV: When Taylor threw herself at me, I slapped myself—hard. That split-second of clarity was all I needed to twist away from her. I shoved her off and sprinted out of the elevator. No way in hell was I dumb enough to head to my executive office. Instead, I ducked into the copy room. Curled up in the far corner of the empty space, my whole body felt like it was shutting down. I used the last ounce of willpower I had to shoot off a message to Raelyn.I didn’t even know why I did it. But something in me believed that if anyone could figure something out when shit hit the fan, it’d be her. Even though she’s an Omega. Raelyn's POV: The moment I stepped into the copy room, I spotted Aiden. He was slumped against the big laser printer, his face twisted with strain—like he was fighting to hold himself together. "Aiden, were you drugged?" I'd studied enough basic medicine to recognize the signs right away. His body wasn’t reacting normally—he looked completely off. And it wasn’t a mild dose either. For someone as steady as Aiden, even his eyes were starting to lose focus. He barely lifted his head and muttered a weak, "Yeah." I rushed over and placed a hand on his forehead. It was scorching hot. Then he looked at me—and suddenly, his hand shot out, gripping my wrist tight. I let out a sharp gasp. "Aiden, what are you doing?" Before I could process it, he pulled me hard into his chest. I froze, completely stunned. Aiden rolled over, pinning me beneath him, his eyes burning like wildfire. "Aiden..." I snapped. But before I could finish, his mouth crashed onto mine, swallowing the rest of my words. My head rang like an alarm. His kiss was clumsy—rough and inexperienced. But with every passing second, it deepened. His lips pressed harder. Then his tongue slipped into my mouth. Goddamn it, that was my first kiss! No doubt about it now— he’d been drugged with an aphrodisiac.I fought back, sinking my teeth into his tongue. He flinched with a grunt, the pain jolting him awake for a second. As soon as he leaned back a few inches, I flipped him under me. He still tried to wrap his arms around me, but I didn’t hold back—I unleashed my Alpha force and smacked him so hard he passed out. "What a damn pain," I muttered, standing up and giving him a good kick. "Even drugged out of your mind, you're still trying to grope me? Absolute predator in a suit." An ambulance would’ve been overkill and way too public. After thinking it over, I grabbed my phone and called one of the Eclipse Pack's werewolf bodyguards to quietly get Aiden to the hospital. Aiden's POV: I opened my eyes and immediately saw Raelyn standing next to me, stone-faced. Sunlight was already spilling through the window. "You stayed here all night... taking care of me?" I asked, caught off guard. "As the Eclipse Pack's heir apparent, your awareness sucks. You seriously let someone drug you?" Raelyn didn’t even bother answering my question—just went straight for the throat. She wasn’t wrong. I couldn’t argue with that, so I just stayed quiet and let her talk. "Alright, if you're conscious again, I'm heading out," she said, turning to leave. I stopped her and said, "Alex seems really interested in you." Raelyn arched an eyebrow. "And how exactly is that your business?" "Alex has this obsession with outdoing me. It’s always been like that. I’m worried he's only into you because of that—not because he actually likes you." I finally voiced what had been bothering me. Raelyn gave me a wicked smile. "So what you’re really saying, Mr. Aiden, is that you’ve got feelings for me, and Alex is just trying to compete with you?" God, this woman is too damn sharp. I was completely thrown off and had no idea how to respond. All I could manage was a weak, "Think whatever you want."
