Alpha Raelyn: The Alpha They Never Saw Coming
Aiden finished speaking, his gaze fixed on mine. “So, do you have any other questions?” “So, you got cheated on?” I said. “Is that really important?” Aiden ground out through clenched teeth. I couldn’t help it—I burst out laughing. “Come on, think about it. You're getting cheated on? Imagine how juicy that story would be if it got out.” Aiden’s face darkened instantly. “Alright, alright, I’ll stop teasing you.” Watching his expression shift so fast made me grin as I shook my head. “Oh, right. I talked to Tammy today. She said the crew hasn’t filmed anything for days. Apparently, ever since that guy got poisoned and quit, they haven’t been able to find a suitable replacement.” “Doesn’t your company have any actresses that could fill in? Just bring a few over for auditions.” I let out a bitter laugh. “Funny thing is, every single actress who fits the role is completely booked right now.” Aiden thought for a moment, then looked at me. “What if you stepped in?” I froze. “Me? No way. I’m not cut out for acting; besides, I can’t stand that kind of environment.” Yeah, I was just lazy. “Not cut out for acting? Raelyn, do you even remember how crazy that clip from 'The Wolf’s Call' set went? If you’re not cut out for acting, then there’s no one in the entire industry who is.” I scratched my head. “That was just me trying to get back at Geraldine. It’s not like I actually know how to act.” “You can figure that out when the time comes. I think you’d be great. And besides, your clip left such a deep impression on people; it’d be the perfect way to give the production a boost.” Spoken like a true businessman—every word tied to profit. I sighed, resigned. “Fine, I’ll do it.” With Aiden’s persistent coaxing, I joined the crew the very next day. Mr. Idris’s eyes went wide when he saw me. “Ms. Beck, you’re here to act yourself?” “Yeah. They need someone, right? To keep things fair, I’ll audition first; you can tell me if I’m good enough.” I smiled.“Of course, of course. Let me take a look.” Mr. Idris’s excitement was practically radiating off him. The scene I was testing for had the third female lead carrying the unconscious heroine to the hospital. Mr. Idris eyed my slender frame, looking a bit uneasy. “If you can’t carry her, we can change it to just draping her over your shoulder.” I glanced at Tammy, lying there pretending to be unconscious. “With her tiny frame? There’s no way I can’t carry her.” Mr. Idris swallowed hard. “She’s put on twenty pounds recently for this role. Honestly, no one but Adam in this crew can lift her…” “That’s because the rest of them are useless.” A nearby male actor overheard and immediately stepped up. “What did you just say? She’s the one who gained weight; no one can carry her at this size.” I shot him a look and smirked. “Oh, so you’re the useless one.” “Who are you calling useless?” His eyes bulged. I rolled my eyes and ignored him. “Mr. Idris, when do we start?” Mr. Idris gave an awkward smile. “Right away.” I drew in a deep breath and ran over to Tammy, panic lacing my voice as I said, “Lanlan, are you okay?” Her head was bleeding, eyes tightly shut. Without hesitation, I scooped her up. Please, me, an Alpha? Forget Tammy, even Aiden wouldn’t be a problem. Lifting her was effortless. Emotion, lines, everything—perfect. I nailed it in one take. “Cut!” the director called, clearly satisfied. I walked up to that same actor, arched a brow, and said, “Back when I was winning Sanda championships, you were still in school reciting your ABCs. Hit the gym sometime instead of embarrassing yourself here.” His face flushed scarlet at my words.Tammy clutched her chest, her eyes sparkling with adoration. “Raelyn, that was so badass! A Sanda champion—I’ve never met anyone this cool in my life!” “You’re such a kid.” “No, really! The way you just picked me up, like it was nothing—you’re way stronger than those guys!” Tammy lowered her voice, glancing around to make sure no one was nearby. “Honestly, that guy likes me. But when he found out I was with Adrian, he got embarrassed and started taking shots at me every day.” I gave her a look of utter indifference. “I told you—they’re just useless.”
