Alpha Raelyn: The Alpha They Never Saw Coming

Chapter 28 Dazed and Drunk

Raelyn's face was flushed from drinking, her fiery red dress making her look even more striking and radiant. She leaned in close, tugging at my tie. The sweet scent on her skin drifted to my nose, and it was… intoxicating. She smells amazing, my wolf, Edward, suddenly let out an excited growl in my head. I was mildly surprised—this was the first time Edward had ever been this stirred up over a female werewolf. Is she our fated mate, Edward? I asked, curious, though I didn’t feel any particular pull myself. I never said that. I just like how she smells, Edward replied. The other werewolves around us were all stunned. A Beta beside me leaned in with a grin and teased, “That’s our Mr. Aiden for you. No matter where he goes, he’s always the center of attention. Even this gorgeous little Omega is throwing herself at him. Look at that waist, those legs… damn, she’s glowing.” “Seriously, Mr. Aiden, this is the perfect night. She’s drunk and clearly into you. Why not go ahead and mark her? Hahaha…” Their lewd gazes lingered far too long on Raelyn’s pale, exposed legs. My voice turned cold. “Stare any longer and I’ll rip your eyes out.” The moment I snapped, they shut up, not daring to comment further. Looking at Raelyn now, something in me burned. I shrugged off my coat and draped it over her, covering her up. I looked at this drunk woman sharply. “Raelyn, what do you think you’re doing?” “Huh… Aiden? Forget it. I don’t want you anymore,” she slurred when she realized it was me. She tried to sit up, but I caught her in my arms. “Stay still. You’ve had too much to drink.” She pouted. “I already said I don’t want you. Why are you still clinging to me?” “You’re stumbling around drunk. You’ll get hurt.” Without another word, I picked her up and carried her upstairs to one of the private rooms. Raelyn was so drunk she started rambling nonsense. “Aiden is the worst person in the whole world.” That hit me harder than I expected. “Why do you hate Aiden?” She perked up at the question and started ranting. “He always helps other people bully me. How could he treat me like that… I never even did anything to him. It’s so unfair.” “I didn’t bully you,” I said, helplessly. “He likes… Taylor, that’s why he always takes her side and picks on me,” she mumbled, pouting more and starting to quietly sob. I had never seen Raelyn like this. She looked like a hurt little girl—every movement, every expression tugged at something inside me. Maybe I really had gone too far lately. “Alright. From now on, I won’t bully you anymore.” “I don’t believe you.” “I swear, as the heir of the Eclipse Pack,” I said seriously. She murmured something and pouted again. “But he likes Taylor… he’ll still help Taylor…” And with that, she completely passed out in my arms. I looked at her sleeping face, sighed softly, and whispered, “I don’t like Taylor.” Raelyn’s POV: The next morning, the sun was already high when I woke up. My head was pounding. I fumbled for my phone and saw dozens of missed calls and over a hundred messages—all from Jackson. I quickly sent him a message to let him know I was alright, then tried to piece together what happened last night. I remembered seeing Aiden… and definitely throwing myself at him. After that? Nothing. I rubbed my temples, washed up briefly, and went straight back to Eclipse Corporation. Taylor might be manipulative, but I had to admit—she did a decent job planning the banquet. The decorations and layout were creative and elegant. Combined with her identity, it earned her lots of praise.“Oh, don’t flatter me,” Taylor said, blushing. “It was really nothing. Aiden guided me through most of it. I just picked up a few tips here and there.” People around her started teasing. “Ms. Taylor, you must’ve grown up with our CEO, huh? Sounds like he really likes you!” “This is straight out of a rom-com!” I nearly gagged listening to them and sat down at my desk, but their chatter kept creeping into my ears. Then someone blurted out, “But wait… isn’t Raelyn Aiden’s fiancée? What if she ends up choosing Mr. Aiden?” Taylor, who had been glowing from all the compliments, immediately stiffened at the question. She forced a smile and said, “Raelyn doesn’t like Aiden. She told me that herself, remember? So don’t worry.” I raised an eyebrow and couldn’t help but laugh out loud. “Ms. Taylor, maybe don’t make up stories. We’re not close. Why would I tell you something like that?” Taylor hadn’t expected me to speak up. Her face faltered as she bit her lip and muttered, “Raelyn, that’s what you said last time. If you’ve changed your mind, that’s okay… after all, Aiden—” I cut her off with a soft chuckle. “What, I can’t like Aiden now?”
