Alpha Raelyn: The Alpha They Never Saw Coming

Chapter 256 Throwing Down the Gauntlet

Seeing me freeze up, Simon assumed Randall and I were old acquaintances; he let out a long sigh of relief. “Good, good—you know each other.” “More than that,” Randall said. “We go way back.” Since Randall already knew I’d left Capital City and was now with Light Corp, it meant Mr. Greg must have known as well. But then, why hadn’t he sent anyone to look for me? “So, what’s your plan? Going or not?” My thoughts were tangled, but Simon’s expectant expression made it clear how much this cooperation meant to him. I gave a small nod. “I’ll go.” Simon lit up, overjoyed. “Great! Let’s get some rest while we can. If filming starts tomorrow, we’ll need to head to Veloria tonight.” Veloria? The name instantly brought Aiden and Geraldine’s place to mind. I’d never been involved in anything like film production before, so it took me a moment to process. “Yeah,” Simon added. “That’s where the shoot kicks off.” At this point, I couldn’t refuse. I just nodded and resigned myself to going along. On the plane, Tammy sat beside me while Adam took the seat behind us. He looked a little gloomy. “Raelyn,” Tammy chattered, “I heard this movie’s being directed by Mr. Idris! I worked with him once before, unfortunately just that one time, but he’s amazing. Every project he touches turns into a massive hit!” Tammy’s excitement was endless, her voice bright and lively like a bird let out of its cage. I smiled, listening as she continued. “But the thing is, Geraldine’s here too. She’s filming as well, though it’s for another production. Ugh, I can’t stand her.” That caught me off guard. “Why not?”“No reason. I just don’t like her—total fake nice girl.” Tammy was still young, blurting out whatever came to mind. Luckily, we were in first class; only Adam and Simon overheard. Simon rubbed his nose and pretended not to notice. Adam glanced over, then gave an indifferent smile. When we landed in Veloria, the four of us checked into a hotel next to the filming site. This hotel catered exclusively to actors and celebrities. The front desk barely reacted at the sight of Tammy and Adam, handing us four keys without fuss. But Tammy wasn’t having it—she insisted on sharing with me. In the end, we only took three rooms, and she clung to my arm as we headed inside. I couldn’t help laughing. “What’s with you? You’re not a kid anymore; why do you still want to share a bed with me?” Tammy huffed. “I just want to! While you were in the bathroom earlier, I overheard someone saying Geraldine’s staying here too. If she tries to mess with you, I’ll handle her!” She even raised her fist and extended her sharp little wolf fangs for emphasis. I couldn’t hold back my laughter—Tammy really was adorable. That evening, I took her downstairs for dinner. Watching her devour her food, I could tell she’d been starving. Before I could say anything, a mocking voice drifted over. “How uncouth. Honestly, have you never seen proper dining etiquette before?” The voice made me freeze. No way. I looked up—sure enough, Geraldine stood there, smirking. My tone went cold. “Didn’t expect to see Ms. Geraldine here. Seems without Aiden by your side, your voice can carry after all.” My words made Geraldine flush. “Who are you trying to insult?” But she quickly recovered, smugness returning to her face. “Do you know who invested in my first film since returning home? Aiden. Raelyn, I know you like him, but let’s not forget—I was his favorite before you. Even Mr. Robin practically begged Aiden to make me his mate.” I narrowed my eyes. “If Aiden liked you that much, if Mr. Robin liked you that much, then why didn’t they bring you back to the Eclipse Pack?”Geraldine’s expression faltered; then she smirked, disdain creeping into her tone. “Who could ever compare to Ms. Beck? Moving into the Eclipse Pack villa before even being officially mated… no wonder you were despised.” That was the last straw for Tammy. She shot to her feet and snapped, “What did you just say? Everyone knows Mr. Robin is in love with Raelyn, and Aiden protects her in every way he can. Who do you think you are to sit here judging? You’re just an ex-girlfriend acting all high and mighty. Anyone listening would think you’re some pregnant homewrecker!” I’d never imagined Tammy could be this sharp-tongued. Looking at Geraldine, I added coolly, “Ms. Geraldine, if you don’t want to make a scene, I suggest you stop shouting.” It was then Geraldine noticed all the werewolves in the restaurant staring at her, curious and whispering. The word “homewrecker” began circulating from table to table. Her face flushed scarlet. She leaned in, hissing, “Raelyn, remember this—I won’t let you off!” And with that, she darted glances around the room, then stormed away in humiliation.
