Alpha Raelyn: The Alpha They Never Saw Coming
Brandon heard that Tammy had called the cops and stormed off, cursing under his breath as he dragged those werewolf thugs with him. I sent Tammy a message, telling her to open the door. The second I stepped inside, she threw herself into my arms, tears streaming down her face. “What happened? How did Brandon even find this place?” I asked. Sniffling, Tammy said, “I don’t know, maybe he asked around.” “Stop crying; it’s over now. Oh, right—I meant to tell you something at the birthday banquet, but I forgot.” Tammy wiped her tears away. “What is it?” “It’s about what I mentioned before. Once your contract’s terminated, I want you to come to Light Corp.” Her tears gave way to a shaky smile. “Really? I can actually go to Light Corp?” Seeing the disbelief on her face, I couldn’t help knocking her lightly on the head. “Did you forget who owns Light Corp?” That’s when it sank in, her best friend was now her lifeline, her biggest supporter, and her top boss. Grinning, she leaned in closer. “Well, since you put it that way, I won’t be polite about it.” I hugged her and said with a laugh, “Then come with me right now.” Of course, Tammy was thrilled. She packed up quickly and followed me out of Adrian’s villa, straight to Light Corp. I took her directly to see Simon. He was in the office reading scripts, looking painfully irritated. “Simon, what’s got you looking so stressed?” I teased, patting his shoulder. He glanced up at me, his face dark with frustration. “I’m trying to find a script for Adam, but nothing works. You know his look—he’s got that soft, campus-heartthrob vibe—but the proposed female leads are either unattractive or completely the wrong style. It’s giving me a headache.” I nodded. “So the problem’s the female lead?” Simon nodded back. “Exactly. None of them fit; I can’t find a single actress who matches him.”I pulled Tammy forward. “Then what do you think of her?” The moment he realized it was the girl who’d been kidnapped before, his expression wavered—but in an instant, his professionalism took over. “Tammy, isn’t she signed to another company? Negotiating to borrow her for a project would be way too much trouble.” I shook my head. “Her contract just expired. I’m planning to sign her with Light Corp. What do you think?” Simon froze, then looked at me hard. “Wait… you don’t mean you want me to manage her, do you?” I snapped my fingers with a grin. “Exactly.” “I’m already losing my mind managing Adam, and now you want me to take Tammy too? You might as well kill me.” He groaned. “Double your salary.” He hesitated. “But—” “Triple.” Simon’s mouth twitched; he clenched his jaw. “If the company needs me, I’ll do my best.” Come on—if there’s one thing Light Corp has, it’s money. Finally, Simon gave Tammy a serious look, then said, “Actually, there’s a show I’ve had my eye on. It needs both a male and female lead. I suggest Light Corp just buy the rights outright. Trust me, this one will blow up.” Of course, I trusted him, so I nodded. “I know. If there’s anything you want to pursue, just go straight to Finance for funding; you don’t need to run it by me.” My trust clearly moved Simon; he thumped his chest and promised he’d keep a close eye on the project. I gave him a nod, then turned to Tammy. “Your place isn’t safe anymore; you should just stay here at the company. The third floor has hotel suites—pick whichever one you like. It’ll make work easier too.” “As for the contract—Simon, do me a favor and print one up. The company seal’s in my office safe. The password’s just all eights—six in a row.” After tossing out those words, I left and headed home.I didn’t go back to the office the rest of the afternoon. But when I walked through the door, I saw Aiden—and froze. It wasn’t even the end of the workday yet. Catching him here at this hour felt wrong, out of place. “Where have you been?” I could tell instantly—when Aiden saw me, he let out a breath like he’d been holding it all day. “What’s this? You finally came looking for me?” I said with a faint smile. He turned his head away. “I just came home to grab some files.” Lies—his hands were completely empty. I clicked my tongue. “Aiden, I don’t know what you’ve been through, but listen to me, if you still want to be with me, then tell me what’s going on. We can face it together.” I meant every word, earnest and intent. But Aiden acted like he hadn’t heard a thing; he just turned and walked out. That night, for the first time, Aiden didn’t come home.
