Alpha Raelyn: The Alpha They Never Saw Coming

Chapter 245 A Fake Gift

Suddenly, a stir rose from the entrance. Following the sound, I saw a female werewolf step inside, dressed in haute couture with flawless makeup. It was Geraldine, smiling brightly as she greeted the crowd with easy charm. At last, she walked up to Robin and handed him the gift in her hands. “Mr. Robin, happy birthday!” Robin happily opened the box right there; inside was a watch. It was bold yet refined, set with rare gemstones all around, looking very expensive. “Mr. Robin, this watch was custom-made by a master craftsman; there’s only one like it in the world. I hope you’ll like it.” Robin beamed. “You’re very thoughtful. Thank you, Geraldine.” “It’s nothing. After all, when I was with Aiden, you treated me like your own daughter. I’ve always been grateful for that.” Surrounded by media, those words immediately set off a frenzy, cameras lifted and flashed nonstop. A top celebrity like Geraldine, once linked to the Salvatore heir, Aiden, it was the perfect headline. “Do you think Raelyn was the other woman? Geraldine’s gorgeous, poised, and a star—who wouldn’t fall for her?” Fans nearby, clueless to the truth, started gossiping. Tammy overheard and shot back at once. “What are you talking about? Raelyn’s amazing, there’s no way she was ever a third party!” “Geraldine’s an international star, even breaking into Hollywood. Her fanbase stretches from here to France. Raelyn may be famous, but how can she compare?” Tammy huffed angrily. “Are you kidding? Raelyn outshines Geraldine in every way. The only reason she isn’t in the industry is because she doesn’t want to be. If she debuted, Geraldine wouldn’t stand a chance.” “Maybe so—but Geraldine was with him first. Aiden’s never had a single scandal; that means she was his first love…”Tammy faltered, choking on words, then glanced at me for help. I just smiled and waved, signaling her not to worry. I wasn’t the least bit upset. Aiden leaned close, whispering curiously, “You’re really not angry?” I smiled back at him. “Do you think I’m lacking?” Aiden let out a low laugh. “Of course not.” I chuckled. Hacker, racecar driver, singer, CEO of Bluewater Corporation, designer, e-sports champion… every one of those titles was enough to make someone exceptional. And on top of all that, I was beautiful—no less than any superstar. So why on earth would I be jealous of Geraldine? “Why should I care what they say? I know how great I am—that’s enough.” “No wonder you’re the woman I chose,” Aiden said with a smirk, slipping an arm around my waist. The onlookers, seeing us so close, quickly shut their mouths. Later, Aiden stepped away to the restroom, leaving me alone on the sofa scrolling through my phone. That was when Geraldine appeared at my side, all too conveniently. “Raelyn, what did you get Mr. Robin for his birthday?” She pitched her voice loud enough for the nearby wolves to hear. I smiled faintly. “Nothing much; just a small gift.” “A small gift?” Geraldine repeated in exaggerated surprise. “This is the Alpha of Eclipse Pack’s birthday banquet, and you give a small gift? After all Mr. Robin’s done for you—don’t you feel ashamed?” What a masterclass in manipulation—picking a fight for no reason. “Oh, I see,” she went on, “Mr. Robin has always kept me in his heart. Maybe he just doesn’t care about you as much; not much you can do about that…” “Are you finished?” I asked coolly, watching her antics. “By the way, Ms. Geraldine, what did you bring?”Turning to the crowd, Geraldine announced proudly, “Nothing more than a custom watch—the Heart of Rupert. It wasn’t expensive, just a billion, and there’s only one in the world. I thought it might barely suit Mr. Robin.” I let out a laugh. “That watch was bought last year by a private collector and has never resurfaced. Tell me, Ms. Geraldine, where exactly did you find it?” Her chin lifted with pride. “I happen to be an old acquaintance of that mysterious buyer. We met overseas by chance, and he sold me the watch.” “Well, what a coincidence,” I smirked, eyes fixed on her face. “Because that buyer happens to be my company’s vice president. What’s this—are you claiming to be an old acquaintance of Jackson?” Jackson had a passion for collecting watches; every time he added a new one, he would show it off to me. That watch had certainly been among them. Of course, Geraldine didn’t know Jackson. But to save face, she nodded anyway. “Yes, him.” I smiled lightly and pulled out my phone. “Perfect. I’ll call Jackson right now and ask if he remembers you and while I’m at it, I’ll ask about the watch’s real whereabouts.” Geraldine froze, her expression draining; she quickly grabbed my arm. “Wait, don’t! I haven’t seen him in so long—he might not even remember me.” “Ms. Geraldine, you’re a world-famous star. How could anyone forget you? Go on, let’s give you two a chance to catch up.”
