Alpha Raelyn: The Alpha They Never Saw Coming

Chapter 225 Want to Try?

“I was faking it. He said the Spirit Fruit was in the room, but knowing how cautious he is, I didn’t buy it. So I pretended to be knocked out by his drug; sure enough, when I searched him, I found this.” Raelyn lifted her hand. In it was a small clear glass vial holding a single Spirit Fruit. I went from shock to delight, realizing I’d been outsmarted by this quick-witted girl again. I shook my head helplessly, smiling at her. “Andrix is going to blow a fuse this time.” “Who cares? He asked for it,” Raelyn said with a cheeky grin. I pulled her closer, scanning her from head to toe until I was certain she really was fine; only then did I relax. “How did you even notice the drug?” I asked. Raelyn looked unimpressed. “Please. That kind of drug? One whiff and I knew. It’s so low-grade I wouldn’t even waste my time making something like that.” That’s when it hit me. I’d been worrying nonstop about this genius of the medical world—when really, I’d been the extra baggage. “Wait a second. Why are you even here? Weren’t you unconscious?” Raelyn asked, studying me. “I woke up and realized you were gone. Then I remembered what I overheard before blacking out and followed the trail here,” I said evenly. Thank God I had. If Andrix had come up with something even more vicious, the consequences would’ve been unthinkable. “Come on, let’s head back. Once I finish the medicine, you and Wesley will both be fine,” Raelyn urged. I nodded and walked back with her to the Imperial Pack’s city estate. The process didn’t take long. After some grinding and mixing, Raelyn produced a vial filled with pale yellow powder. “The conditions are too rough to make it into pills, but the effect’s the same. Just take it as it is.” I picked up the vial, watching the powder swirl faintly inside. Raising a brow, I teased, “What if you poison me instead?”Raelyn smirked, clearly enjoying the joke. “If I really wanted you dead, I’d make sure your shares and assets were transferred into my name first. And honestly, who in their right mind would waste ingredients this rare on poison? Do you know how expensive that would be? Much cheaper to just feed you wolfbane while you’re asleep.” She had a point. A single Spirit Fruit was worth a fortune on the market, practically priceless. Using it for poison would be a ridiculous waste. Still, the way she said it was so funny I couldn’t hold back and burst out laughing. “What’s so funny?” she asked. “I think you’re cute.” Raelyn shot me a glare. “Cute? What’s that supposed to mean?” She stood with her hands on her hips, looking like an indignant kid. I said casually, “Just… a little cute.” Raelyn was tall and slender, with long legs; what she lacked was the kind of curves that gave a woman her… allure. She caught my meaning immediately, slapped a hand over her chest, then flicked a glance toward my lower half with a snort. “Says you. Small can be cute too.” My jaw tightened. Did she seriously just call me small? “What’s wrong, mad because I hit a nerve?” Raelyn took my change of expression as proof her jab had landed. Nodding smugly, she added, “Don’t worry, Aiden. Even if you really are… I wouldn’t hold it against you.” “Care to find out for yourself?” “Find out what?” I leaned in, voice low. “If you’re actually right about me.” Raelyn’s face turned crimson in an instant. She dropped onto the bed, looking completely flustered. I bent down, tapped her on the head with a finger, and said, “Next time, watch your mouth—or don’t blame me if I decide to teach you a lesson.” Raelyn scooted back quickly. “You stay here and rest. I’m going to the hospital to treat Wesley.” She shot to her feet and fled, not even glancing back.I hadn’t even opened my mouth when the door slammed shut behind her. Remembering her flustered, helpless look just moments ago, I couldn’t help but chuckle. Testing it? That was only a matter of time. Raelyn’s POV: I ran out the door, heart pounding so hard it felt like it would leap from my chest. It took a long moment before I calmed down. That cold, stoic man—how had he suddenly gotten so good at flirting? Total pervert. I touched my burning cheeks, exhaled a long breath, then grabbed the medicine I’d made from the other Spirit Fruit. With that in hand, I hurried to the garage and drove straight to the hospital. Inside, Wesley was sitting up in bed watching an e-sports match, looking surprisingly lively. “Wesley, the medicine’s ready.” I tossed the small vial into his lap. “This tiny thing? Is it even enough?” Wesley turned the silver-white porcelain bottle in his hand, puzzled. “It’s shorter than my finger. Won’t it run out after one use?” “Why don’t you open it and see?” I said, too lazy to bother explaining. Wesley popped the lid, and at once the room filled with a light, pleasant fragrance—Spirit Fruit’s unique scent mixed in. He pressed a finger into the ointment inside; it was soft and smooth, almost silky. “So, I’m supposed to rub this on my back?” Wesley asked again, uncertain. I gave him a look like he was an idiot. “You could swallow it instead. I’ll go prep the stomach-pump kit.” Wesley froze, realizing I was mocking him, then scowled. “Fine. Then who’s supposed to put it on me?” “Don’t look at me. It’s definitely not going to be me.” With his temper? No way I’d put myself through that. Still, an idea popped into my head, and I couldn’t help grinning. “You could always have Trent do it. Might even help the two of you bond.” Wesley’s ears turned bright red. “No way I’m letting him rub ointment on me.” Just then, the werewolf nurse nearby chimed in shyly, “Mr. Wesley, maybe I could do it? I really love applying medicine for people…” The nurse had shoulders like a linebacker, just as broad and muscular as Wesley. His expression changed instantly, and he turned to me in a panic. “Call Trent. Now!”
