Alpha Raelyn: The Alpha They Never Saw Coming

Chapter 219 Acknowledged as a Goddaughter

Andrix seemed to notice the strange bidder and turned to glance our way. I immediately lowered my head. With the room so dim and Aiden wearing sunglasses, Andrix didn’t spot anything unusual. He gave up looking and turned his head back. The bidding continued. At first, a few others joined in, but as the price climbed, they all backed out. In the end, only Aiden and Andrix remained. Andrix seemed to lose patience and suddenly called out, “One hundred million.” That amount far exceeded the Spirit Fruit’s actual value. I patted Aiden’s arm. “Alright, let it go. No need to keep bidding.” Aiden ignored me and raised his paddle. “Two hundred million.” “Alright! Any bids higher than two hundred million?” Andrix didn’t move and eventually gave up. “Two hundred million going once, twice, three times! Congratulations to the gentleman who just won this five-hundred-year-old Spirit Fruit!” I gave Aiden a look. “So wasteful. If I’d known it’d be this expensive, I should’ve squeezed the money out of Mr. Greg.” Aiden rubbed my head. “Don’t worry, I’ve got money.” I rolled my eyes and scolded, “It’s not about having money. Some money should be spent, and some shouldn’t. Learn the difference, okay?” What a spendthrift. Whoever ends up marrying him is seriously unlucky. Oh. That unlucky person is me. As that annoying thought crossed my mind, Aiden suddenly looked at me and said seriously, “All the money’s yours. You manage it.” “That’s more like it. You know your place. Deal.” Considering he just spent a fortune to win me the Spirit Fruit, I decided to let it go. But just as we were about to leave, a group of people blocked our path. “Well, well, Aiden, you actually came to a place like this? Didn’t you once say everything in the black market was filthy and you’d never set foot here?” Standing front and center was none other than Andrix. “You had people block my path. What are you trying to do?” Aiden released his aura, and the surrounding werewolves immediately backed off a step. “You’re right. This doesn’t look good.” Andrix smiled, but his expression suddenly turned cold. “Hand over the Spirit Fruit.” I clutched the Spirit Fruit closer but kept my expression calm. “What, you didn’t win it at auction, so now you want to rob us?” Andrix looked at me, lips curled into a smirk. “Raelynn, if you agree to be with me, I’ll give it to you.” “What do you mean ‘give’? Andrix, Aiden bought that. Isn’t that a little shameless of you?” Andrix acted like he didn’t hear me, calm as ever. “If you won’t agree, then don’t blame me for taking it by force.” The werewolves around us began to stir. “Wait a minute!” A deep voice suddenly rang out behind us. Andrix’s expression shifted. He raised a hand, signaling the werewolves to stop. A group of werewolves approached from the distance. Leading them was a tall man radiating authority—the domineering aura of a high-ranking werewolf hit like a wave. Andrix squinted. “And you are?” The werewolf was tall and wore a black mask. He looked at Andrix and sneered. “So now people dare throw their weight around in my market without my knowledge?” Hearing that this was the black market boss himself, Andrix immediately softened his tone. “You must be joking, sir. This market is still yours to command. I was just here to collect a debt.” “A debt, huh? Then tell me—what kind of debt leads you to hassle my goddaughter?” Andrix froze, pointing at me in shock. “She’s your goddaughter?” Aiden and I were both stunned, staring at the man called Johnston. “What, don’t recognize me?”Johnston chuckled and removed his mask. Only then did I realize—it was the old werewolf who sold me the herb earlier. He was actually Johnston, the black market boss? And when did I become his goddaughter? But Johnston gave me no chance to react. His eyes went wide with feigned anger. “What? I’m not allowed to have a goddaughter?” Andrix forced a smile, apologetic. “Of course not.” In the black market, Johnston’s word was law. His power and influence were unmatched. Even someone like Andrix wouldn’t be dumb enough to go against him directly. “So tell me—what debt does my goddaughter owe you? From what I saw, Mr. Salvatore here looked ready to steal the goods just now. According to black market rules, business is business. Wasn’t that a little out of line?” Andrix knew he was cornered. Gritting his teeth, he turned to me and said, “Ms. Beck, I apologize. I was out of line. Please forgive me.” With that, he turned to leave with his men, but Johnston stepped in and blocked his path. “Not so fast. If my goddaughter did something wrong, I’ll apologize on her behalf. But if not, you owe us an explanation.”
