Alpha Raelyn: The Alpha They Never Saw Coming

Chapter 211 I Can Heal Him

Smack— The sound of the slap rang loud and sharp in the quiet hospital corridor. I could’ve dodged it. But thinking about how Wesley was still unconscious in the ICU, I forced myself to take it. Luna Mary had every right to be furious. Her son had ended up like this saving me. Any mother would react the same way. “How is it that I let him go out with you for just a short while, and now he’s like this? Raelynn, you’re nothing but a walking disaster!” I kept my head down and said softly, “I’m sorry.” Trent immediately stepped in to defend me. “It’s not Raelynn’s fault. Wesley chose to protect her. You can’t blame her for this.” Mary let out a cold laugh. “Oh please, if she hadn’t gotten herself targeted, would Wesley have needed to take the hit for her? This all started because of her!” I raised my head. “I admit my mistake and I’ll take responsibility by healing Wesley. But that doesn’t give you the right to insult me.” “Oh? So now you’re talking back? You think acid burns are something you can just ‘heal’? Big talk for someone with no real skills!” Clearly, Mary didn’t believe I had any way of curing Wesley. She thought I was just bluffing. “If I can’t heal him, I’ll take on the same pain Wesley’s going through.” Everyone froze. Not just Mary—even Trent was stunned. “Raelynn, don’t say that lightly. This isn’t some minor thing,” Trent said, trying to stop me. “I mean it.” I spoke with confidence. Mary narrowed her eyes. “Fine. I’ll give you one month. If you can’t do it, we’ll go by what you just said.” “One month?” I blinked. Mary sneered. “I knew it. You can’t do it. A whole month and you still wouldn’t make progress—how can you claim you can heal him?”I smiled. “You misunderstood. I meant a month is too long. The wounds will have healed by then. Two weeks is enough.” Mary looked like her jaw might hit the floor. “Two weeks? That fast? You’re not just saying that so you can run off, are you?” “If I wanted to run, I’d have disappeared the second he got hurt. Wesley saved me. I will make sure he recovers completely.” That finally made Mr. Greg speak up, his tone doubtful. “You’re just a young girl. What do you know about medicine? You’re impressive, but that doesn’t mean you should take this on yourself. I’ve already contacted a highly respected doctor. Once everything’s settled, he’ll come treat Wesley.” “Which doctor?” I asked. Mr. Greg looked me in the eye. “Dr. Raven.” Ugh. Raven again. I said calmly, “Raven hasn’t taken a case in seven years. He’s not going to come back just for this.” Unless I asked him. “No matter the cost, I’ll get him here,” Mr. Greg said firmly. I couldn’t help but laugh. “Feel free to call him. Ask if he’s willing.” Mr. Greg raised his brows at my confidence, then pulled out his phone and called Raven in front of everyone, putting it on speaker. “Is this Dr. Raven?” he asked politely. Raven’s end was noisy, like someone was arguing with him. “Hey! We agreed—no takebacks! What are you doing, Raven?” Then Raven’s voice came through, shouting over the commotion. “Yes, this is he. Who’s speaking?” “I’m Greg, Alpha of the Imperial Pack. I’d like to invite you to examine my grandson. Are you available?” “I’m not. I’m not even in the country, so I won’t be able to treat your grandson.” Raven shut him down immediately. “Name your price. Whatever it is, I’ll pay.” “It’s not about money… I don’t care about money. And you must be pretty resourceful to even get this number, but I haven’t practiced in years—and I don’t plan to come back.” Raven was crystal clear. Mr. Greg’s face darkened, and he was about to hang up when I leaned in and said brightly, “Raven, are you playing chess again?” Dead silence. Then Raven’s voice flipped into a cheerful cackle. “Raelynn? What are you doing there?” Everyone froze. Except for Trent, every single face was full of shock and disbelief. “I’m here doesn’t matter,” I said casually. “Can you come back and help treat my brother? They don’t believe I’m capable.” I shrugged like it couldn’t be helped. “Who dares doubt you? My personal disciple! You’re smarter than I ever was. Honestly, it’s a compliment to my name when you heal people. Wait—brother? You’re with the Imperial Pack?” I sighed. “I’ll explain later. Just tell me if you can come back.” Raven shut it down immediately. “No, no, no—I’m not coming. I’m just a tool you summon at will, huh? Got a case? Do it yourself. I believe in you. Anyway, gotta go. Derrick’s waiting for our game—Hey! No takebacks!!” The call ended abruptly. Clearly, he was more worried about losing at chess. Mr. Greg was completely silent. Mary, who’d just made that wager with me, looked like she wanted to melt into the floor. “Mr. Greg,” I said calmly, “may I begin treating Wesley now?”
