Alpha Raelyn: The Alpha They Never Saw Coming
Raelynn’s POV I woke up early in the morning to find that photo. In the picture, Aiden and Taylor were naked, tangled up together in an intimate pose. It really looked like they had slept together. I thought about everything Aiden had said to me the night before, and an indescribable wave of pain welled up inside me. Men really are nothing but liars. But then, as I glanced over the photo again, something struck me as odd. Aiden’s position on the bed didn’t look like he was simply asleep. It looked more like... he’d been knocked out. His face was flushed, unnaturally red. Had he been drugged? I quickly got dressed and ran to Aiden’s room. The door wasn’t locked, so I slipped right in.Aiden was alone inside, sound asleep. Seeing him like that, I froze for a moment before stepping closer to check on him. Sure enough, there was a faint medicinal scent in the air. Aphrodisiac. A light dose, luckily. If the amount had been stronger, and he’d had to endure it all night… he’d probably be dead by now. Looks like Taylor still had a shred of conscience left. I reached into my pocket, pulled out a pill, and slipped it into Aiden’s mouth. I gently lifted his throat to help him swallow it. After a while, Aiden slowly opened his eyes and looked at me in confusion. "When… did you get here?" "Why are you asking so many questions? How’d you end up drugged?" He glanced toward the milk glass on the desk. "Last night, my mom came in and brought me a glass of milk. She’s done it before, so I didn’t think twice. I drank it." I raised an eyebrow. "What, even Madam Salvatore’s trying to take you down now?" Aiden shot me a cold glare. "Save the sarcasm. Just tell me how you ended up in my room." I pulled out my phone and showed him the photo. "Taylor sent this to me. Probably wanted me to think you two hooked up and hate you for it." "Hate me? Raelynn, why would that make you hate me?" Aiden raised an eyebrow, looking at me. I almost blurted out Because I like you—but as soon as I saw his expression, I realized he was trying to bait me. I swallowed the word back down. "Maybe I was just disgusted. You two doing something like that and still sending me a picture of it." That was the excuse I settled on. But as soon as I said it, Aiden’s face darkened. The next second, he grabbed my wrist and held it tightly. "Aiden, what are you—" Before I could finish, he pulled me right into his arms. "Raelynn," he whispered close to my ear, voice low and steady, "say what you just said again." We were practically nose-to-nose. He held me tight, his familiar clean scent wrapping warmly around me. I panicked a little. "I—I didn’t say anything." I flat-out denied it. "Not gonna admit it?" "Nope." I struggled against him, but he only tightened his grip. In the scuffle, I must’ve pulled too hard, because a button on my blouse popped open—exposing a large swath of my pale D-cup chest. Aiden’s eyes immediately dropped down, narrowing as they locked onto the sight. "What are you looking at—mmph!" I started to snap at him, but before I could finish, he yanked me close and kissed me. His lips were still sweet from the pill he’d just taken. My brain went completely blank. When I didn’t react, Aiden slowly loosened his grip and pulled his lips away from mine. Only then did I snap out of it and realize—I’d just been kissed. I smacked him. "Aiden! Is the drug still affecting you?!" He grabbed my hand and pressed it against his chest. I could feel the strong, steady rhythm of his heartbeat, and my own started racing in sync. "You tell me," he said. "You pervert!" I finally came to my senses and kicked at his chest. Aiden leaned back just enough to dodge it. "I never said the effects were gone." His tone was casual, like that kiss was no different from sipping a drink. "Fine. I’ll just pretend I got bitten by a dog. I’m leaving." I turned to open the door—only to find Madam Salvatore standing outside, her hand frozen midair like she’d just been about to knock. Her gaze dropped to my disheveled neckline, then to the missing button, and finally to my smudged lipstick. I instinctively wiped at my lips—only then realizing the kiss had ruined my makeup. Her expression shifted to outright shock as Aiden walked over from behind me, his robe wide open, chest fully exposed and flushed pink. My face burned. "You two…" Madam Salvatore stared at us in disbelief, her face going pale. "Raelynn!" she snapped. "You’re a girl—how could you be so shameless? Don’t you realize you haven’t even been blessed by the Moon Goddess yet? Sharing a room like this, acting so indecent—what are you trying to do, seduce Aiden into mating with you?! I’ll tell you right now: that’s never going to happen!"
