From Betrayal to Brilliance: She Rose Stronger Than Ever
Athena put the stuff away, and a nurse said to her, "Dr. Hall, you just treated a patient. You need to fill out a treatment form." "Okay, got it." Athena had planned to go find Zaden and Teri, but after hearing this, she had to fill out the paperwork first and follow the proper procedures. She sat down at the computer and wrote down Teri's injuries, treatment, and medications. Then she noticed Teri's blood type. B? Teri has the same blood type as me? What a coincidence! No wonder I feel so naturally close to Teri, maybe it was because we are "kind of the same." Athena smiled, lost in thought. She quickly finished the paperwork and went to find Zaden and Teri. When she got to Zaden, she saw the homeroom teacher apologizing, saying the situation would be properly investigated. Teri was playing with other kids, and their parents were all watching. It did seem like an accident, but no one could be sure if someone had been behind it. Investigating it properly was the only way to make sure no one was messing around behind the scenes! Zaden saw Athena and walked over to her. "How's Teri doing?" Athena asked. "She's okay. She said Mommy's stitches didn't hurt at all." Athena couldn't help but smile. Teri is such a little angel. Zaden looked at Athena, a little helpless. "Teri's going to stay home to recover. But the cut is on her head. I'm not sure how to manage the aftercare. What should we do?" Athena caught what he meant. Athena internally scoffed, Nice try! You're just trying to get me to go home and take care of her. He's even using Teri as an excuse! But could she refuse? Of course not! With a sigh, Athena said to Zaden, "Okay, I'll move back in today and take good care of Teri." Any lingering bad blood she had was tossed out the window. Maya was still there. Even though Zaden didn't let her stitch Teri's wound, she stayed around, hoping for some opportunity. As she walked closer to Zaden and Athena, she just happened to hear Athena's words. Her face immediately darkened. She'd known that Athena was staying in the hospital staff dorms, so she hadn't cared before. But hearing Athena say this made her even more furious. If Athena is taking care of Teri at home, won't she be living with Zaden 24/7? No way, I have to figure out a plan! Athena noticed Maya out of the corner of her eye and saw her gloomy face. She asked, "Professor Rice, is there something you need?" Maya heard Athena's question and felt annoyed. She snorted. "What's it got to do with you? Is the hospital yours?" Athena didn't bother arguing with Maya. She simply told Zaden, "Let's go home." Zaden nodded and left with Athena, leaving Maya alone where she stood. Back at Storm Villa, Teri went to her room to rest. Zaden went to the study to take care of some work, while Athena comforted Teri. Teri seemed tired and quickly dozed off. Seeing Teri sleeping soundly, Athena tucked her in softly. She quietly closed the door and went downstairs. In the living room, Zaden was on the phone, looking very serious. Athena had no idea what the caller was saying. She didn't disturb him and just sat on the couch behind him. After a while, Zaden hung up and looked back at her. He said, "The school's investigation is done. The parents were ganging up on you because Maya told them to, but Teri's injury was an accident." Athena raised an eyebrow. So it was Maya! Not that she hadn't expected it; only Maya would do something so ridiculous. Athena said to Zaden, "Just isolating me isn't actual harm, so I'm not going to be petty about it. But I'm glad the thing with Teri was just an accident. Otherwise, she'd have a hard time socializing with her classmates." Zaden nodded in agreement with Athena's point. Athena looked at him and snorted. "Zaden, Maya is coming after me because of you. I've endured so much unfairness for your sake. Aren't you going to comfort me?"Zaden smiled helplessly, "How do you want me to comfort you?"
