The Rise of the Rejected Luna

Chapter 327

Adira ran out of the house, her heart threatening to explode in her chest. She panted heavily, fighting so hard to steady her breaths. But no matter how hard she tried, it was useless. The car keys was still with her. So, she returned to the car she had driven in with, and with shaky hands, drove out of the compound. Her cheeks became the canvas for tears as she navigated down the road. She never thought it was possible to feel such amount of pain. At that moment, she felt as though, she had been stabbed on a spot that could never be healed. Her vision became too blurry, and finally, she screeched to an abrupt halt by the side of the road. She bent her head on the steering and wept profusely. Her heart was aching too much, she wasn't sure she could survive it. 'I thought you were different. Decent. I may have watched you for a long time, but I definitely missed this part of you,' Nikolai's words haunted her. "No..." Her body convulsed with wrenching cries. Her hand crawled up to her tummy, squeezing it tight. Everything was ruined. Her life, her baby's, it was all ruined. Her chances with Nikolai were ruined. She stayed there for a long time, crying her eyes out, not being able to move. *** When Adira finally caught a grip of herself, she drove to an expensive bar which she was sure would be less of people. Indeed, it was very scanty. She ambled to the counter, ordered some drinks and began drinking herself to stupor. She seeked solace in the bottom of each glass and didn't know how much time passed before someone familiar approached her. Jared walked into the bar and looked around for Adira. When Na-ri called and informed him that their plan worked and Adira was out of the house, he pleaded with her to stealthily trail after her. Thankfully, Na-ri agreed and was able to follow Adira to the bar. And he rushed over as soon as he could. He found her at the counter, seemingly drunk and devastated. For a moment there, guilt washed over him. He did this to her, planned everything and caused her so much pain. But it was for the best, wasn't it? He was the right man for her and would make sure she never gets a reason to cry anymore. He advanced towards her with unhurried steps. She had two empty bottles before her, he could only imagine how drunk she must be. He took the seat next to her, his eyes holding so much pity. And due to how close he sat, Adira cocked her head to look at him. "Jared?" She narrowed her gaze, as if his face wasn't clear enough. A glass of wine was in her hand, and Jared tried taking it from her. "I think you've had enough..." "No!" She pulled the glass away. "Let me be." Jared watched as she swigged everything down her throat and started decanting more from the bottle. She was way too drunk, he knew he couldn't stop her at that point. Any unnecessary move on her might make her react crazily. "You can talk to me, Adira." He spoke softly. "I know your here for a reason. What's the problem? Did something happen?" "Can I?" She chuckled, taking another sip from her glass. Her eyes were so swollen, indicating how much she'd been crying. "I was framed. Now, he hates me. He hates me and doesn't even want to see me." She whimpered. Sobs took over her body again, she didn't make any attempt to control it. She didn't have the strength to. "I know they made me look bad to him, but why couldn't he just trust me? A little bit of trust was all I needed. How could he... how could he treat me this way?" She sank her head onto the table, weeping as she did. She was so hurt, she didn't even know what she was doing or saying anymore.Jared placed a hand on her bag, patting it. "Stop it now. You have to stop crying. It's going to be fine, I promise." He cooed. She continued shaking with sobs until finally, her sobs seized. Jared knew instantly that she had dozed off. He exhaled deeply and stroke her hair for a little shore. Then, he called on the bartender, paid for her drinks and left the bar with Adira in his arms. She looked so fragile, so exhausted. He almost blamed himself for doing this to her. He took her into his own car and drove off at once, deciding to shelter her for the night. He thought of taking her to his own apartment. But, not wanting her to freak out when she wakes up, he took her to one of his resorts. It was a small nice apartment, one that was very suitable for her. She was deeply alseep the whole time, even as he took her to the bedroom and laid her gently on the bed. He sat on the edge of the bed, staring into her peaceful pretty face. He moved some strands of hair away from her face and traces of tears came into view. Poor girl had been crying her eyes out. "I'm sorry, Adira." He muttered, running a finger down her cheek. "Sorry I caused you this pain. It's never going to happen again."
