Shining Through the Chaos with My Bulldog

Chapter 680 A Very Heavy Passenger

The man was easygoing. Natalie was decisive and didn't drag things out. "Bonnie Ashford," she said. Cassian glanced at her with a grin and replied, "Kash Holland." Angus nodded. "Kash and Bonnie, I'll have to trouble you in a bit to help move me into the vehicle." Then he looked at Natalie with concern. "I'm pretty heavy. If you can't lift me, let Dynamite help you. She looks strong. With Kash helping too, you should manage." Lucky let out two unhappy yelps. What was wrong with this guy? Why did he keep calling me Dynamite? Was that even a polite name for a lady dog? So rude. Seriously, this is infuriating. The man kept rambling on. "I've already lost a lot of weight. Back then, most people couldn't lift me at all. The past few years have been rough. Bad food, bad water. I lost a lot of muscle. "I'm telling you, once we reach the base, you'll get to enjoy—" This time, Natalie didn't even need to interrupt him. He stopped mid-sentence, his head tilted, and he passed out. Natalie was just about to step forward to check if he was really out when Lucky stomped over in a huff, stuck her butt right in his face, and let one rip. You're the Dynamite! Your whole family is Dynamite! The farting sound was soft, almost quiet. The smell, however, was terrible. Three seconds later, both Natalie and Cassian clamped their hands over their noses."Lucky! Did you just take a dump?! That smell is way too strong!" Even Lucky's two followers, Cash and Baron, backed away together, taking several big steps back with clear disgust. Lucky lifted her head proudly, as if releasing a stink bomb was something to brag about. She didn't look embarrassed at all. Natalie covered her face tightly and said, "Yeah. He's definitely unconscious." No normal person could stay awake after Lucky's biological weapon. She hadn't just done it near him; she'd done it right in his face. Even Natalie, standing about ten feet away, felt like she was about to gag. Cassian pinched his nose and said to Lucky, "Starting tomorrow, less pork knuckle. You're eating way too greasy. Your gas smells like something went rotten." Lucky was instantly unhappy. Her tail drooped. Natalie almost burst out laughing at Cassian's description. "He's right! That smell was like something rotten stuck in your butt." Lucky was even more upset now. Was that any way to describe a lady? She stiffened her neck, twisted her mouth, and barked angrily a few times. Natalie shot her a look. "What are you yelling for? I think that description was spot-on." She agreed with Cassian's suggestion. Natalie said, "You really should eat less pork knuckle. I stew it with garlic, and eating too much makes gas worse." She paused, then warned her, "Next time, give us a warning first so we can hold our breath. Especially in the car. You must first report the incident, then exit the vehicle, and release the gas outside. No poisoning people in an enclosed storage space." Lucky ignored her completely. She shook her head, swayed her body, and walked away like none of this concerned her. Cassian looked down at the unconscious Angus. "Are we really taking him with us?"Natalie nodded. "Yeah. It's easier to do things when you know someone. Having a middleman makes deals smoother. Even if he turns out to be useless, we lose nothing." Cassian nodded. "From here to Yloria is just over a day. He'll probably still be out cold when we arrive." Natalie pulled the snow vehicle out of her storage space. "Once we get there, we can check the official base while he's still asleep." With one more person along—even an unconscious one—Natalie decided not to stick to the original plan of sleeping in the RV. They already had a clear destination. From here to Yloria was a little over twenty hours of driving. Even with snow slowing them down, they would arrive within two days. Natalie chose to leave right away, overnight. Luckily, they had taken a long nap earlier while testing the storage space. They had slept three or four hours and weren't too tired. She and Cassian would take turns driving and resting. Once they agreed, everyone got ready to move. At first, Natalie planned to have Cassian carry Angus into the back seat, out of basic human decency. But the three little ones strongly disagreed. Lucky was the loudest. She bared her teeth at Angus without hesitation. The Knight XV's interior storage space was large enough. Even with Angus inside, there was still room. But the animals were used for comfort. A big, strange man in the back seat would ruin the ride. Natalie thought about it. They had a long trip ahead. Comfort mattered. So, they stuffed Angus into the trunk instead. He was completely unconscious anyway. It didn't matter where he lay. To be extra safe, Natalie tied him up again, on top of the ropes already wrapped around him like a cocoon. At a glance, he looked less like a passenger and more like a kidnapped hostage.
