Shining Through the Chaos with My Bulldog
Fiorella glared at Natalie, staring at her natural beauty until jealousy twisted her already swollen face. She didn't even care about the gun pointed at her anymore. Hiding behind the three men, she spat out her threat. "You brat! Don't act so smug! Your man and your looks will belong to me soon!" Her eyes darted rapidly, clearly scheming how to plant cursebugs on them. Running through the tunnel wasn't an option now. The entrance was in the storage room behind Natalie and Cassian. She would have to get past them first, and that was not happening. If she wanted to survive, the only option left was to take them down. Natalie had stayed at a safe distance on purpose. She knew how Fiorella cursed people, and who knew what other tricks she kept hidden. She was done talking. She narrowed her eyes at the four enemies. If they all wanted to protect Fiorella, then she would get rid of Fiorella first. Fiorella was the biggest threat here. Once she was gone, maybe the men would snap back to normal. Especially Anthony, whose real girlfriend was locked in the basement while he acted like Fiorella's loyal dog. Natalie would help them wake up. The moment she lifted the gun again, the two leaders jumped in front of Fiorella. Anthony frowned hard and rushed straight at Natalie and Cassian. But right then, Natalie disappeared in front of all of them. All four enemies froze in shock. Anthony, already running full speed, lost his target and almost faceplanted. He had planned to catch Natalie first and use her to threaten Cassian. But she was gone. Before Anthony could figure it out, Cassian stepped forward twice and slammed him with a single punch. Anthony dropped instantly. Yep—one punch, and he was out cold! The other three didn't even stop to look at Anthony. They were too busy searching for the vanished girl. Then, a calm voice came from behind them. "Hey, looking for me?" Fiorella's eyes shrank in fear. She spun around and saw Natalie's cold stare and the barrel of her gun. Before she could react, Natalie fired. She hadn't just blinked—she had switched her rifle for a shotgun, unbeatable at close range. With one blast, Fiorella's head exploded. Natalie had kept her distance on purpose, so not a drop of blood landed on her. The two leaders weren't so lucky. Blood and brain matter splattered all over them. They trembled and screamed. "Fiorella!" Natalie aimed at them next, but both men suddenly widened their eyes. Their skin turned a sick green, and white foam poured from their mouths. Within seconds, they stiffened and tumbled down the stairs lifelessly. Natalie stared, stunned. "Her blood is poisonous?!" Their skin was literally turning green. That wicked woman harmed people while she was alive, and now even her blood kills after death?Cassian's voice came from nearby. "It's not the blood." Natalie looked over and understood right away. At Cassian's feet, Anthony, who had been knocked out, was also foaming. His skin was even greener than a leaf. He bent down to check Anthony's breath. "He's dead." Fiorella's heartbinding cursebug must have killed all of them the moment she died. Cassian stood up and glanced sharply toward Natalie. He frowned. "Nattie, be careful." She followed his gaze. From Fiorella's corpse, a strange bug crawled out. It had lots of legs, kind of like a spider, but not exactly. Whatever it was, it was definitely a cursebug. The rainbow shine on its shell screamed deadly poison. Once it crawled free, it stopped and dropped a blob of halfseethrough poop. Natalie carefully stepped back and pulled bug spray from her storage space. As she opened the cap, the big bug twitched, flipped on its side, and went still. It looked completely dead. Natalie raised a brow. What was that supposed to mean? Was it pretending? Or did it die because its master was gone? Either way, she didn't care. She aimed and sprayed the entire can. She kept spraying until the thing was basically mummified. Only then did she stop.
