Shining Through the Chaos with My Bulldog

Chapter 377 Give Back My Supplies

No matter how terrible Jacob was, he was still Natalie's father. But Cassian didn't expect her to snap at him that quickly without hesitation. He glanced at Jacob rolling on the ground and pondered. Did that old man do something even worse? From what Cassian knew, Natalie wouldn't kick her father just because he kicked her out of the house. She could be cold, but she cared deeply about people close to her. She always forgave her friends and boyfriend. But that kick just now? She didn't hold back one bit. Jacob was rolling on the ground and clutching his stomach. Tears streamed down his face from the pain. Even so, he shouted in a shaky voice, "You're so ungrateful!" Natalie looked down, her voice cold. "That's nothing. I can go way harder. Wanna test me?" Jacob looked up and shivered when he met her eyes. Her eyes were dead cold, which showed she had already killed people before. A chill went through him, and his cocky attitude faded. He stared at her. "Nat, I used to treat you well. Even if we're strangers now, you wouldn't actually ruin me, right?" She lifted her brow. "Me? Ruin you? You've been trying to ruin me first! "Do you think I know nothing? You and Lillian spread that anonymous notice, trying to kick me out of the villa again. Better check if you even have the guts for that!" Jacob looked away, guilt flashing. "Don't think so poorly of me." He groaned, trying to stand. "I didn't come here to fight. Let's forget the past. Since you're back, we should just get along." Natalie snorted. "I came back on my own. Don't act like I owe you." Jacob frowned. "Why do you have to talk to me like that?" Her voice was flat. "That's just how I talk. Deal with it or leave." His face twisted. Out of all fathers, he had to be the most pathetic one. Back before the world went to hell, Natalie wouldn't dare talk to him this way. But now? With no rules, weapons at her side, and someone powerful backing her, she even dared to humiliate him. Jacob's fists tightened. Whatever. He could put up with it. He'd swallowed worse for years. He could do it again, especially for food and supplies. "Natalie, I don't care what you say. I want my supplies back." Natalie played dumb. "What supplies?" "The supplies were missing from my house last night! Not just food—everything in the villa. You stole it, right?" When she didn't admit anything, he snapped, "In times like this, stealing all my supplies is no different from killing me!" Natalie lazily scratched her ear. "I don't know what you're talking about." Jacob's voice rose. "Natalie! It's blazing hot, and I'm not gonna stand here arguing in the sun. I'm your father! You stole my food—are you trying to kill me?" No matter what he said, she kept acting like she couldn't care less. "Kill you? Kill you? Don't drag me into that. You said yesterday I'm not your daughter, so how could I be trying to kill my father?" Jacob puffed up. "That's because you killed someone and disgraced us! If I don't cut ties, the neighbors will throw us out!" He darted a look at Cassian and added, "You're my real kid! If you don't believe me, let's do a DNA test. Mr. Holland can get his tech guy to borrow equipment from the Mervyns. We'll have proof!" Natalie turned to Cassian. "You got a tech guy?" Catching her drift, he said firmly, "Nope." She smirked. "Hear that? He doesn't." Jacob was pissed. "Mr. Holland, that's not what you said yesterday!" Cassian stayed calm. "Then you must've remembered wrong." Jacob choked on his words. That's just unbelievable! His daughter didn't respect him, and now his future son-in-law was just as bad! What kind of father-in-law got treated like that? Fury burned in him, but he couldn't storm off. Three women at home were waiting for supplies. Without them, they wouldn't make it. He forced down his pride. "Natalie, just give back my supplies!" When she didn't react, he clenched his teeth and tried again. "Fine, keep your mom's and grandparents' things if you want. But give me my things and the supplies." Natalie only said, "I didn't take anything." No proof, no crime. If she said she didn't steal, then she didn't.
