Shining Through the Chaos with My Bulldog

Chapter 336 A Flower That Devours People

"Ow ow? Ow ow ow!" When are we going back to your mansion? I feel like it's way better than here! Cassian did not understand what Lucky was saying, so he just patted her head. "Don't cause trouble, go keep Natalie company." Lucky wagged her tail. "Ow ow!" I want to go back to the mansion! Leaning against the couch, Natalie heard the noise and called out, "Dumb dog, stop messing around. Come here!" Lucky instantly trotted over obediently. In her little doggy world, nothing mattered more than her master. Natalie stroked her head with satisfaction. "Good girl, sit." Lucky immediately jumped onto the couch and sat down, her huge body sinking a large section of the cushions. Natalie's mouth twitched. "Lucky, you really are like a big pig!" Lucky gave a disgruntled whine. Not far away, Cassian—who was still sorting through supplies—laughed. "Don't say that. She actually looks more like a Tibetan Mastiff." Lucky immediately gave a triumphant "woof," striking a mighty pose. Natalie chuckled and patted her head before asking, "By the way, that blond guy earlier was Theodore Mervyn, right?" Blond guy? Cassian almost laughed. "That's actually pretty accurate."Then he nodded. "Yeah, that's him." Natalie also nodded. "He totally looks like some spoiled scion." Cassian kept tidying up as he said, "He is spoiled, but he's still pretty capable." Natalie raised her brows in surprise. For Cassian to call someone capable meant they were seriously impressive. She looked doubtful. "Really? He seems like the type who just fools around all day." Cassian explained, "His personality is rough, sure, but he's smart and knows how to run a company." Natalie asked, "Isn't the one running Tyro Group his father?" Cassian replied, "Dave handed over control to his only son ages ago. Outwardly, it looks like he's still in charge, but in reality, most of the decisions and innovations come from Theodore." He paused, then added, "I don't agree with a lot of his methods, but he has achieved plenty in the conventional sense." Natalie understood. So Theodore was like one of those students in school—the kid who always got into trouble and acted like a delinquent, but still somehow ranked top of the class. Thinking about his carefully styled messy blond hair, she could not help but laugh. Definitely a unique guy. Then, she asked again, "I feel like Theodore pays a lot of attention to you?" Cassian did not stop what he was doing. "Mm. He's always second place, so of course he keeps an eye on number one. That's just human nature." "Pfft!" Natalie burst into laughter. "Mr. Number One, you're really full of yourself."Cassian's expression did not change. "Just stating facts." Then he seemed to think of something, glancing at her meaningfully. "Really though, I am number one in every aspect. You must like that." Natalie fell silent. "Cut the cheesy talk." Cassian raised his brows. "What cheesy talk? I really do take first place. What else could you be thinking?" Natalie rolled her eyes. "Don't play dumb. Whatever you say, I'll take it exactly how you mean it. I am never wrong." Cassian chuckled, put down what he was holding, and walked over to kiss her. Upstairs, the three little ones covered their eyes. A moment later, the conversation circled back to Theodore. Cassian reminded her, "Since you're living here now, try not to interact with him too much. He's ... complicated." Natalie tilted her head. "You mean, he's no good, right?" Cassian could not hold back a laugh. "Let's just say—part good, part bad." Natalie snorted. "So far, I've only seen the bad." Meanwhile, back at home, Theodore sneezed. "Achoo!" Sniffling, he muttered, "Who's talking bad about me?" Then he went to shower, sighing to himself. That Cassian ... Somehow, without a word, went and found himself a girlfriend. Not just any girlfriend either—she's gorgeous and deadly. That girl, holding a bayonet, looked like she was signing death warrants. Ruthless!Who would have thought that the eternal bachelor Cassian would suddenly find someone? Theodore frowned as he mentally compared Natalie to his ex-girlfriends—Fifi, Kiki, Wendy, Amy, Shirley, Fiona ... None of them were as sharp or fierce as her. And in looks? Not even close. He clenched his jaw. Did that mean he lost again? What now? Should he try to steal her away? Cassian did seem awfully attached to her. But then he imagined Natalie's cold, expressionless face as she stabbed someone. Tsk, forget it. She was not his type. Cassian really has strange taste. Why go for a flower that devours people instead of a gentle one that soothes the heart?
