Shining Through the Chaos with My Bulldog

Chapter 224 Watch Your Mouth

She turned to Harold. "Who's this guy?" Harold looked helpless. "He's Olivia's brother-in-law." Natalie looked Brandon up and down then it dawned on her. I was just wondering how someone could stay this chubby in the apocalypse. Turns out he's Dorothy's spoiled son. Just look at how scrawny Dorothy is. Clearly, all the food in that family goes straight to this fatty. The "fatty" heard Natalie call him "this guy" and felt a little annoyed, but he still forced a smile and moved a few steps closer. "Hey, pretty girl, you look familiar. Haven't we met somewhere before?" He even tried to flip his bangs with confidence as he spoke. Natalie listened to his cheesy pickup line and took a step back, worried she'd get grease on her just standing near him. Still clueless, Brandon tried to inch closer, but Harold blocked his path. "What do you think you're doing?" Brandon scowled, clearly unhappy about being stopped. "Mind your own business, pretty boy. Is Olivia not enough for you? Now you're trying to take this pretty girl from me, too?" Natalie couldn't take it anymore. She kicked him hard in the side and sent him flying. Then, she immediately looked to check her shoes. Damn, my shoes probably got greasy from kicking him! Harold saw the disgust on her face and quickly said, "Idol, let's catch up later. You should go home for now."Natalie glanced at Brandon, whom she'd just kicked three yards away. He was sprawled out, still giving her a creepy, lovesick grin that gave her goosebumps. She'd seen plenty of chubby guys before, but none of them were this greasy. Natalie called out, "See you later, Harold!" Then she shut the door without hesitation. Brandon got to his feet, wincing. However, he still looked at her door with that dreamy, love-struck expression. "What a fiery girl! I like her!" Harold saw him practically drooling and felt disgusted. Where does this clown get the confidence to flirt with Natalie? If Natalie is a goddess, this clown doesn't even measure up to the dirt on her dog's paw. Harold stepped down the stairs and leaned in to warn him in a low voice. "You'd better not mess with people you shouldn't mess with." Brandon tried to act tough, clenching his fist. But Harold quickly grabbed his wrist and twisted his arm behind his back. "Ahhh! Let go of me. It hurts!" Harold stared him down. "Stay away from the 14th floor! If I see you up there again, I'll beat you up every time!" He threw in two more punches before leaving. Brandon rubbed his face, cursing under his breath. "Nosy pretty boy!" He wanted to fight back, but he knew he couldn't win, so he just gritted his teeth, rubbing his back as he limped downstairs.Damn, aren't city people supposed to be weak? How come these people are all so strong ... " 15th floor. Ghania saw Harold return empty-handed and smiled. "Was it really Natalie who came back?" Harold kicked off his shoes and walked in. "Of course! My idol came back and put that old shrew in her place." At the mention of Dorothy, Ghania immediately put her hands on her hips and snapped, "That crazy old bat. If she weren't Olivia's mother-in-law, I'd have shot her and her ugly son with arrows by now!" Harold laughed. "Yeah, yeah, our Queen is the toughest!" Ghania glared at him. "Tough? Stop sucking up to me. I'm still stuck putting up with her nonsense!" She sighed. "Olivia's a great girl. How did she end up married to such a mess of a family?" Truth was, Ghania had already had plenty of shouting matches with Dorothy before. She never lost an argument, but out of respect for Olivia, she never laid a hand on her. Just like Natalie, she didn't want to get involved in Olivia's family business, no matter how fierce she could be. Harold started massaging her shoulders. "Mom, don't stress about it. Olivia's kind, but she's no pushover. That old shrew and her son won't keep acting up for long." Ghania thought for a moment. "That's true." Then she added, "But keep an eye out for me, all right? I'm just waiting for a chance to let off some steam." That crazy old bat came up to the 15th floor and spewed filth plenty of times. I remember every word! Harold kept massaging her shoulders and neck, laughing. "All right, my dear mother!" 13th floor. Brandon shuffled into the unit, rubbing his swollen face and sore back. Just then, Dorothy hobbled out of the bedroom, having just woken from a nap. The moment they locked eyes, Dorothy limped over to him in a hurry. "Brandon, let me see—what happened? Did that little tramp upstairs hit you?" Brandon just flopped onto the couch. "It's nothing. Why are you making such a fuss?" He tried to flip his greasy bangs. "And watch your mouth. There's no tramp upstairs—only a pretty girl!" He'd never seen anyone as gorgeous as Natalie in his life. He honestly thought Natalie was ten times prettier than the prettiest girl in their village, Jenny. "Oh no!" Dorothy fussed over him, sitting down by his side. "No matter how pretty she is, she can't just go around hitting people!"
