Shining Through the Chaos with My Bulldog

Chapter 160 Slow Death

Owen suddenly pulled a small knife he had taken from a corpse and drove it straight into Elena's neck. Her eyes went wide in shock before she collapsed to the ground. By then, Olivia and Natalie had already rushed over. Without hesitation, Olivia raised her gun and shot at Owen's legs and the arm holding the knife, crippling him instantly. He fell to the ground, writhing in agony. Olivia turned to Natalie. "Nat, let me handle him." Natalie nodded. Owen was her enemy, after all. It was only right that Olivia deal with him. Olivia gave her a tight smile, then stomped hard on Owen's chest."You killed my husband, didn't you?" Every inch of Owen's body screamed in pain. He knew he was finished. Even if Olivia let him live, his injuries alone would be fatal. Still, lying there broken and suffering, he would've preferred a quick bullet to end it. Through gritted teeth, he forced out a twisted grin. "That's right. Not just your husband—your child too. The ones who made you lose the baby? I was the one who pushed them to do it." He sneered, full of spite. "It was me. I destroyed your whole family. What now, Olivia? Hate me? If you've got the guts, kill me! Take your revenge for your husband and kid!" Her eyes burned red at his words, her chest tightening with grief and rage."I'll kill you!!" She lifted her gun, finger tightening on the trigger. Owen shut his eyes with a twisted smile, waiting for death like it was relief. However, Olivia hesitated. Something flashed in her mind, and she lowered the gun. Instead, she kicked him hard. "You really want it to be over that easily, huh?" Owen's eyes flew open—just in time to see Olivia smiling, almost cheerful. "Don't worry. I'm a trained surgeon. I'll make sure you live through this." Terror filled his face, his body shaking uncontrollably. "No! Kill me! Please, just kill me quickly!" Olivia's hand came down across his face with a vicious slap."Dream on." The blow was so fierce that, already broken and bleeding, Owen passed out cold. Harold edged closer, wide-eyed. "Olivia, what are you planning to do with him?" Olivia looked down at the unconscious man. "I'll stitch his wounds, let them close up a bit, then rip them open again and sew them back. With what little we've got here, he'll last maybe two weeks. Then he can finally die. Lucky him." She smirked. "Until then, I've got some medical research to do. Even once he's gone, his corpse will still be useful." "Lucky?" Harold nearly choked, staring at her in disbelief. Natalie spoke up calmly, "You sure his limbs are completely useless? To be safe, cut the tendons—or better yet, just take what's left of that arm and legs off entirely."Olivia nodded in agreement. "Don't worry. He won't pose even the slightest threat." Harold shivered. Ruthless did not even begin to cover it. Never cross a woman, especially not a woman who is a doctor. He cast a pitying glance at Owen's bloodied body. "Olivia, I've got some meds at home. They could help you drag this out even longer if you want." The unconscious Owen did not object to that. Olivia shook her head. "Not worth it. Trash like him doesn't deserve the waste. Just knowing I'll break him apart slowly is enough." Harold nodded, then turned to Natalie, curiosity gleaming. "Idol, where'd you even get that gun?" Olivia's eyes lit up too, both of them leaning in.Natalie only grinned mysteriously before lowering her voice. "I found them." They both blinked. "Found them?" For real? "Yeah. Police station. It was just lying around, so I picked it up." Olivia did not know what to say. Harold was equally speechless. This girl really knew how to "find" things. Olivia suddenly realized, her eyes shining. "So that's why you kept sneaking out before! Not for food or fuel—but for this! Anyone who only hoards supplies without weapons is just waiting to hand them over. Nat, if you hadn't gotten us guns, all the fuel I risked my neck for would've gone to waste. You were thinking ahead the whole time!" Harold nodded furiously. "That's why she's my idol!" Watching the two of them so hyped up, Natalie could not help but laugh, too. She understood their excitement, as she felt it herself. For the first time, she had gone up against nearly two hundred enemies and not only survived but won. The thrill of victory burned in her chest. She smirked. "Come on. Let's go finish the job." Before leaving, Natalie gave a glance at Elena's lifeless body. In the end, Elena had chosen the wrong person to trust and paid the price for it.
