Harvest Moon: Bound to My Four Stepbrothers

Chapter 87 Unexpected

Hunter’s P.O.V. I ask Ella for her phone and quickly dial Uncle Drake’s number, it only rings twice. He can’t see me because I already turned on the other camera and I hear him mutter as he watches his Sister on the phone with his Mother. Emma has her phone out as well and I put in Grandpa’s number to make him a part of this as well. Soon Sasha has three Phones in front of her and as I watch it I realize that there are a few others missing out. I link Uncle Luke to call Aunt Mara as I ask Papa and Pops to call Aunt Lucy and Uncle David. Within minutes Aunt Sasha is faced with her entire family and I can see that she is not sure whether to laugh or cry. I doubt she knows where to turn to first, so I decide to make it a little easier for her. I grab the phones with Nanna and Grandpa on the line and I had asked Ella to put Peter, Cara and Benjamin in one chair. “Nanna and Grandpa, I want you to meet your Grandpups.” I hand Peter and Cara each a phone so the three of them can talk to their Grandparents. Peter turns his phone towards Jayce to introduce June to Grandpa and Nanna is asking Cara and Benjamin a lot of questions. Once Peter has turned the phone back Grandpa listens in on everything they tell Nanna and I am so happy that we could do this. I feel two pairs of arms wrap around me and I feel content being surrounded by my family and my Mates. A knock on the door pulls my attention away from the scene in front of me, but Emma has already answered the door. She asks the girl if it would be to much trouble to bring up lunch five adults and four kids, because they won’t be joining us down in the dining room. The girl says she will be right back and as I turn around I see Jayce placing June on one of the beds. I tell Max, Uncle Luke and Papa to stay with Aunt Sasha and Uncle Todd, while we will be going down to the dining room. Just as we are about to head out the door the girl is back with two other girls and each of them are carrying a tray of food. We follow the girls down the stairs and one of them walks us to the dining room, I thank her for everything and she just gives me a smile. Every conversation stills as we walk into the dining room and we get a few glares from the Wolves in the room. “Your Highnesses, why don’t you take a seat while we get you some food.” Emma says loudly and I have to stifle a smile as jaws drop. Apparently not everyone was inform of our presence or who we were if they had seen us. Our Warriors that already ate give us their seats while they stand guard around us, making sure we don’t get bothered and to show this Pack what protocol is. Through the mind-link I ask my Mates to tell me about their talk with the Beta and Gamma. The look on Jason face tells me that I will not like what I am about to hear, looking at Jax and Jayce I wouldn’t have been able to tell and Justin never really shows the truth. Just when I think I have figured him out he changes tactics, annoying the hell out of me. Jax and Jayce always look as if they are the bearers of bad news. No, if I want to know whether or not I will like the answer I have to look at Jason. I can read him like a book, even though I think everyone assumes that that applies to Justin. In private Justin is an open book, but as soon as a “stranger” is around that book closes fast and then he is hard to read. Jason is the same no matter what, just one look at his face and I know if it is good or bad what is coming my way. “Turns out the Beta and Gamma are both siblings of the Luna, Alpha Frank wasn’t allowed to take over until he found his Mate and he found the perfect way during his travels. His Mate’s Father told him to take a chosen Mate, but Frank told him that he would still have to deal with his Beta and Gamma. Both of them sharing Quinten’s view on succession and that is something Frank was not willing to accept. His Mate’s Father told him to find a chosen Mate with two Brothers and the same look on succession as him. The guy even recommended his own Pups for the job and Frank accepted without thinking about it twice. He called his parents and told them he found his Mate, he would bring here with him once he was done. By the time they arrived back at the Pack everyone knew he had found his Mate and that Quinten would step down in a matter of weeks. It didn’t take long before everyone realized she wasn’t his fated Mate and Quinten had gotten mad at him.Frank had just shrugged his shoulders and said I never said I found my fated Mate. Technically he is correct he never used the word fated and besides that his Mate was pregnant by the time they got here. What bothers me is that I don’t feel the aura of a High-ranking Wolf on either one of them, but as far as we have been able to find out they are treated as the Leaders of three Mountain Pack.” Jax is the one to fill us in and I know I need to voice my thoughts before I black out again. After lunch I walk over to Alpha Frank, “Alpha Frank, I want to see you, your Beta, your Gamma and your parents in your office tomorrow morning at eleven. Don’t be late.” I say and I walk out of the room before he can respond. I don’t need to hear his buts, ifs or other excuses he might try to come up with and I need to talk about what I heard or I might lose it. Everyone follows me back to the Alpha floor, including all the Warriors and I would like to hear their thoughts on this as well. The trays of food are empty, June is awake and the phones are lying on a table near the window. “Thank you, Your Highness.” Aunt Sasha says and I actually growl at her for using the words Your Highness. Papa shakes his head and says “I told you so.” “Aunt Sasha, only in public will you use my title. Is that clear?” I ask and she nods her head as she smiles at me. “Okay, I want everyone in this room and I need you to keep this to yourself.” I say as I look at everyone in the room. “My mind can process a lot that makes no sense to others, I see connections no one else sees and I can get into trouble quicker than any of you can.” I say and Peter and Benjamin burst out in laughter. “However there is a down side to all of that. If my mind gets filled with pieces faster than it can solve than I shut down, literally. I start feeling dizzy and within seconds I blackout, there is only one way to handle it so far. That is why I wanted all of you in here, I need you to listen to what my Mates discovered and after that I will start asking questions. I ask the questions not only to get an answer, but also to slow my mind down by focusing on one thing at the time. Jax, will you tell everyone what you told me during lunch.” I say and I sit down in an armchair with June on my lap. She wraps her arms around me and softly rocks me from left to right, calming me and Justice down in a strange way. It works, so no one is going to hear me complain. Besides I love holding this little girl and apparently she loves holding me too. Once Jax is finished I let them process the information, before I start firing my questions into the room. Why is he against the succession Law? How did he get that past his Father and the Pack? Why doesn’t he feel like an Alpha? Why doesn’t he allow Uncle Todd and Aunt Sasha to leave? Does this apply to the rightful Beta as well? It is quiet for a moment and the first answer comes from an unexpected mouth, “Our Beta escaped four years ago.” Peter says and I ask him to clarify his answer. “Dad is constantly watched by Warriors and if he gets to close to the border Alpha Frank shows up. He knows Dad will never leave us behind, so he makes sure one of us is at the Pack-house at all times. Our Beta has no Mate or Pups and that makes it a little more difficult for Alpha Frank. He is also good at sneaking around and he snuck passed his Guards one day, no one ever saw him again. It took them hours before they realized he was gone and by then it was too late.” Peter explains and I feel the anger in the room. “Thank you for explaining that, Peter. That makes me ask an extra question, why is it so important for him to keep you around, Uncle Todd.” I ask and I know that he doesn’t have the answer, but Ella does as she mumbles “He is the strongest in the Pack, next to the former Alpha.”
