Harvest Moon: Bound to My Four Stepbrothers
Jocelyn’s p.o.v. We all listen in silence as Umayza tells us about the memories she has relived and I am glad that we have some answers, but my heart breaks for the forty seven orphans that landed in a situation they shouldn’t have been in. I am holding on to Joseph as we hear more and more, not just from Umayza but also from the Warriors and Erylis wants to rip each of them to shreds. “Joseph, does your Mother know how Charles and Camilla ended up here?” I ask him through the mind-link and I can tell that he is linking someone. “Mom says that they ran when an Alpha demanded Camilla as his Mate, in turn he would protect their Pack. According to Mom something that has happened from time to time, some keep their word and others don’t.” Joseph answers. I remember that my former Alpha made a similar deal, but lied to his Pack-members about who he wanted as a Mate. “Can you ask your Mom which Alpha made that deal?” I ask him and a moment later I see a smile appear on his face.“Your Stepdad, Little Devil.” Joseph says and I understand his smile immediately. “Alpha Amarah, I have question for Charles. Do you mind?” I ask as I step forward, she gestures at me to proceed. “Charles, who told you that Alpha Grant wanted Camilla as his Mate for protection?” I ask him and I see our Pack-members smiling at my question. I doubt he had seen that question coming and I am already dialing Grant’s number, before he has answered me. “My Alpha informed us, it is the reason why we ran away.” Charles answers. “Is Alpha Grant going to confirm that story, if I were to ask him?” I ask as I hear a growl coming from my phone, he really doesn’t like it when I call him Alpha. “Sorry, but it would be a bit strange to refer to you as Grant to someone that doesn’t know who you are to me. I have a question, do you remember a Pack with a Beta named Charles and his Daughter Camilla?” I ask. The roar that comes from the phone has most Wolves and Lycans around me cowering in fear, but I don’t say a word as I keep my eyes on Charles. “Why do you ask, Pumpkin?” Grant finally asks and I know that someone is calming him down. I quickly tell him what happened here and I can tell that he has to do his best to keep calm, but I can also hear Mom in the background. “Charles was never a Beta, he was the Alpha of Moon Shadow Pack and he abandoned his Pack just like your former Alpha. I made him the same deal as your former Alpha, but he also lied to his entire Pack and left them defenseless.” Grant replies. I know he has offered Charles’ Pack the same deal, he offered my former Pack and I hope someone there knew the codes to the Pack funds. “Do you need me to get any information from him or could you access it by yourself?” I ask and I hear Charles growl in my direction. “No, Pumpkin. His Beta handed everything over and I have taken his former Pack-members under my wing. How is White Mountain Pack?” He asks, but I know that Mom is eager to find out. “Except for this stupid situation, things are going fine. The Pups are settling in, but I think it might take a few nights before they are willing to sleep in their own beds. Joey’s shoulder has healed fine and Jenna is finally done with hiding her rank.” I reply. “Tell Indigo that her Brothers are hating Chris at the moment, he keeps teasing them with the fact he was the first one to meet her.” Grant says teasingly and I can hear Inti and Indigo laughing. “I will talk to you after Christmas, Dad. Keep those boys in line and keep Mom and Aunt Noa safe.” I say, before I disconnect the call. “Alphas, Charles was offered protection by Alpha Grant as you could hear. What he forgot to mention is that Alpha Grant asked for a Mate, not a specific Mate. My former Alpha was offered protection with the same request, but he never asked for a specific Mate or a specific rank. Both Charles and my former Alpha abandoned their Packs and Alpha Grant has taken both Packs under his wing. I am not allowed to call him Alpha, it’s Grant or Dad. He is my Stepdad and his Beta is Indigo’s Stepdad.” I explain to everyone. While I have been talking, every Pack-member has handed in a note and I still have to write down what I believe should be their punishment. I know we need every Warrior we have to protect our borders, but I don’t believe they should get away without any kind of punishment. Erylis helps me to make a decision on their punishment and for Charles and Camilla I don’t have to think at all, they need to be stopped. There is no other punishment for them than death, any other punishment will result in more trouble. “Mommy, Christian won’t take his bottle.” Jenna calls out from the front porch and I see Alpha Theseus picking her up to throw her over his shoulder, she bursts into a fit of giggles as he walks into the Pack-house with her. “Lets go, Little Devil. Our Son needs you.” I hear Joseph whisper next to my ear and I snuggle into his side, letting him guide me into the Pack-house. I sit down next to Umayza, who is trying to feed Christian his bottle and the moment Joey hands Faye to me, he latches on to the bottle. “They didn’t tell you it wasn’t smart to separate these two, did they?” I ask and I see Umayza staring at their interlinked feet. This will probably never change for Christian and Faye, they will always be close to one another and I hope to find out one day what rank or type of Shifter Christian is.
