Jocelyn’s p.o.v. I listen to Mom as she explains what happened and Erylis is ready to rip that fucking Alpha to shreds, he left his Pack to die. Aunt Noa had seen them sneak out the back and after she had warned Mom, they tried to come up with a plan. Mom had walked to the border and had asked Alpha Grant what was going on. He had explained the deal he had with our former Alpha and that he was there to collect, but Mom had to disappoint him. She had to tell him that they had left the territory and that they had a head start of about forty minutes. Six Warriors were sent after them, but so far they hadn’t been able to find them. Alpha Grant had laughed his ass off when Mom had asked him if he still wanted Hailey as his Mate, turns out that he had never been after Hailey per say. He just wanted a Mate and had hoped that someone in our Pack would have accepted the offer, any female would have been fine by him. Mom had told him about me and Indigo, which had pissed him off and according to Mom Alpha Grant is a good Alpha.It had taken her a few hours, but eventually she had told Alpha Grant that if he still wanted a Mate, she would be willing to become his Mate. So, as of yesterday I have a Stepdad and he is an Alpha. “I just hope that he doesn’t expect me to take over from him.” I say teasingly and I hear Mom giggle. “Hey, I’m right here.” Alpha Grant growls softly. “Sorry, Alpha. Next time I will whisper.” I reply and I can hear more than one person laugh in the background. “Young lady, I don’t want to hear the word Alpha from you ever again. I can understand that you won’t call me Dad or Father, but my first name will do just fine.” He says and Erylis is enjoying herself in the back of my mind. “I will keep that in mind, I need to discuss with Alpha Inti about revealing our location. I will call back shortly.” I say before disconnecting the call. We have finally reached the clearing and I sit down in the middle of it, Griffin lowering himself next to me. I lean into his side and let the phone call run through my mind, because a lot has changed since Indigo and I left. “Inti said that Alpha Grant could send his Warriors to pick up those five Nitwits.” I hear Joseph say through the mind-link. “I know, but I need some time to let this sink in. My Stepdad is an Alpha and Indigo’s Stepdad is a Beta, not really what is was expecting to hear.” I reply. Erylis is pacing in the back of my head, she is pissed at the sorry of an excuse Alpha for leaving his Pack-members behind to deal with his mess. If she would get half a chance, she would kill him and not lose a second of sleep. Indigo sits down next to me with Jenna and Inti hands Faye to me, while Joey sits with another new-born in his arms. I know it is the Pup from the dungeons and Joey is trying to feed him a bottle, but he doesn’t seem to interested in it. He keeps squirming in Joey’s arm and I can see that it hurts him, after placing Faye on my legs, I take the Pup from Joey. “Did anyone think about a name yet?” I ask, but no one says a word and I take that as a huge No. ‘Oh, Indigo. Your Mom had some news for you, she is mated to Alpha Grant’s Beta and instead of one big Brother you now have three big Brothers.” I tell her and she is just shaking her head. “Why?” Indigo asks and I start laughing, because I know why she is asking that question. “Maybe your Mom didn’t want to stay alone and she doesn’t have to worry about your Dad coming back.” Joey states and I laugh even louder. Indigo keeps shaking her head and I doubt she is making sense to anyone. We both had seen the cracks in our parents relationships, but we didn’t realize it was bad enough for our Moms to reject them after one huge mistake. “I don’t want any Brothers.” Indigo whines and Joey looks at her with a mad look in his eyes. “At least you have family left.” He growls, before he gets up with a struggle and walks to the other side of the circle. “You owe him an apology, Indigo.” I tell her, I know Joey’s story and understand why he would be mad with her for making that remark. Joey’s parents died a few years ago, while trying to keep his older Sister from getting kidnapped. He lost his parents and his Sister that day and has been on his own ever since. Inti had moved him into the Pack-house and he was well looked after, but it couldn’t replace his family. Even though he is grateful for Inti to take care of everything that he needs and he wants to make his parents proud by becoming the Pack’s Delta. Indigo places Jenna on Griffin’s back and walks over to Joey to apologize, she will also tell him why she made her remark. Hopefully they can understand the other, because I intend to train Joey and that means they will spend a lot of time together. “I would like to shift back, I could use something to eat.” Joseph says through the mind-link. “Jenna, can you come down here? Griffin wants to hand back control to Joseph.” I say as I hold out a hand and watch her as she slides of Griffin’s back. “Thank, Wolfie.” Jenna says, trying to wrap her short arms around him. He gently places his head over hers and she giggles as he pulls her closer to him. He sweeps his tail over her head as he turns around and Jenna giggles even louder, enjoying the teasing. “Jenna, we need to think of a name for this little boy. Is there a name that you like?” I ask her, I doubt she will be much help, I just want her to help me decide on a name. She sits down next to me and stares at the little boy in my arms, looking as if she is actually thinking about a name.
