Harvest Moon: Bound to My Four Stepbrothers
Lakota Yesterday turned out pretty good after Jeff proclaimed his love to his Omega, and she told him that she suspected that she was pregnant, but that she was waiting for the test results to come back. When I told them that I suspected that the sample his Daughter stole belonged to her, Jeff had a huge smile on his face. Doc confirmed he had gotten all her test results back that morning and that she was indeed with Pup. Everyone congratulated them with the news. After we said goodbye to Jeff and his Omega, we had dinner in the main dining room and we received quite a few confused looks, until I realized some of them must have met Dad before. Lance and I had a talk with Dad about when we would leave, and we decided to leave after lunch, after all our destination wasn't going anywhere. "Lance, what do you feel through the Pack-bond?" I ask him; it has been bothering me all morning, and I hope he can help me figure this out. It is as if I am feeling a few faint connections to our Pack-bond, but I can feel all of our members strongly. Lance tells me what he is feeling, and it is the same thing I am feeling. Both of us decide to walk around the territory to see if it becomes stronger or weaker. After ten minutes or so, Lance stops dead in his tracks and pushes me towards the left; I feel the connection getting stronger, but it is still very faint. We walk through the forest at the back of the territory. Suddenly, we clear the tree line and we are standing in front of a cottage. A male that smells familiar walks into view, and he nearly stumbles when he sees me. He looks at me as if he has seen a ghost, and I see a female and two more males stepping out of the cottage, all three of them staring at me with eyes as big as saucers. "Dad, grab Uncle Chris and get to the back of the territory," I say through the mind-link as Lance places his hand on my lower back. I don't say anything as I am waiting for Dad to show up; maybe he knows why the male smells familiar to me and why they look at me as if they know me. It only takes minutes before Dad comes running from the tree line, and he skids to a halt when he looks at the Lycans in front of us. "Kobal," Dad whispers, and it seems to wake the four of them up. Kobal walks over to Dad to give him a hug as he whispers, "Is that Lakota?"Dad introduces me to Kobal, and I finally find out why he smelled so familiar; he had been my bodyguard from birth. He would always hold me if Mom or Dad were busy and needed to have their hands free for a moment. I refused to let anyone else hold me; just my parents and Kobal could keep me calm. Kobal introduces us to Argos, his younger Brother, Jahi, his younger Sister, and Cian, his Nephew. Dad asks how they survived, and Kobal bursts into tears as he apologizes for leaving his post that day, but Mom had told him she would be fine. Kobal had received a call from his oldest Sister that her Mate had died, and Mom practically ordered him to go see her; that he had been reluctant to leave the two of us. His Sister had died a few hours after they had gotten there, leaving Cian behind, and he knew Mom wouldn't mind if he took him in. When they had arrived here on the way home, they had been informed that the Pack had been slaughtered, but he refused to believe that all was lost as he still felt the Pack-bond, and so do his siblings. The more time I spend around them, the stronger the connection becomes, and I ask Lance if he can feel it too."Mind telling me what the two of you are discussing?" Dad asks, and Lance nods his head as an answer to my question. "I felt very weak connections this morning, and I asked Lance about it, so we went looking for the source. The longer I am standing here, the stronger the connection becomes; even Lance can feel it," I answer. Quinn and Darrius are the next ones to arrive at the cottage, and both of them tell us they can feel the connections too. Dad seems confused as to why he can't feel them. "Maybe because the connections have always been there; they survived, so the Pack-bond didn't get severed, and you were never stripped of your title," I mumble. Uncle Chris tells Dad that my assumption is correct, as he has a Pack-member that moved away, but he never severed the Pack-bond, and even though it is faint, it is still there. Dad asks if they want to re-join our Pack and come with us to the new territory. We head back to the Pack-house, and I ask Cian how he has been doing since his Mom died. He tells me that his Aunt and Uncles have been there for him every step of the way. He never felt left out, even though he can't mind-link them, and that is the only thing he doesn't like.Cian is my senior by three years; he is 6'2" with mahogany blond hair and satin grey eyes, and he is built like a house. I think most will have difficulty putting his ass on the ground, and I will definitely use him as a sparring partner to improve my own skills. We head to the backyard where the rest of our Pack is, and the closer we get, the stranger Kobal is looking. "What is wrong, Kobal?" his Sister asks, and he tells her that he can feel more connections through the Pack-bond. Dad confirms what he is feeling and that he will explain everything once they have met the rest of the Pack. Everyone gets introduced to one another after we enter the backyard, and Lynn keeps looking at Kobal. "Hello, little Wolf," he says as he gets down on one knee. "My name is Kobal, and what is your name?" he asks as he holds out his hand. Lynn places her small hand in his before she tells him her name. The contrast between their hands is so amazing that I quickly take a picture of it before he turns his attention to Josh and Keir. Both of them tell him their names, and Keir tells him that Lynn beat him in a race the day before. "Don't worry about that, little Alpha. You will become faster and stronger the older you get," Kobal says. Lance and I check every backpack we have to make sure we have everything we need, and in the meantime, Dad explains a few things to Kobal and his family. The Pups help us with putting everything we got from Aunt Lucy away, and by the time we are ready, an Omega walks out to tell us that lunch will be served in five minutes. I dread saying goodbye to my family, but it is necessary for us to get back on the road and find our own territory to settle down in. Dad promises Uncle Chris that he will inform him the moment we have found the territory and that we will ask for help if we need it. We have been on the road for over an hour when Kobal asks me why we are going to find another territory. "Council-member Armas called Dad about eight years ago; the Alpha of White Crescent Pack wanted to expand and asked the Council if he could buy our territory. Dad explained everything to me about what had happened, and we decided to sell the territory. I have no memories of it, and for Dad, they only hold bad memories, so it was the best thing to do. I met Council-member Armas shortly after we left our Pack, and I know that White Crescent Pack is now run by his Son, Alpha Atlas. I only had one request back then, and that was to keep our Pack name. I wanted to keep it just in case, and it is a good thing we kept it, or the three of you would have been without a Pack," I answer him. He smiles at me with a sad look in his eyes. "You are as down to earth as your parents; neither one of them ever cared much about material things, and it sounds to me that you are exactly the same. You will make an excellent Alpha one day; you already have shown that you care about your Pack-members. I doubt there are many Alphas that would take a heavier backpack to make it easier for a weaker member, and I doubt any of them would ever accept this many members who were cast aside for whatever reason," he says, and I know that my face is bright red from the compliment he has given me. After dinner, Dad shifts into Echo to carry Lynn and Josh, while Kobal carries Mylana and Rory. Argos carries Josy as she doesn't have her Wolf yet, and the rest of us carry the backpacks. By the time it is almost midnight, we stop for the night, and Colton and Quinn go in search of a good place to rest.We all shift back to our Human forms to get some sleep, and it only takes Quinn and Colton a few minutes to find a cave where we can put the Pups and Omegas to rest for the night. It is a good spot that is easy to protect, and it will keep them warmer than sleeping out in the open. It doesn't take us long to fall asleep while some of the Warriors patrol the area; they will be taking shifts to make sure everyone gets some sleep. Lotus wakes me in the middle of the night. "Lakota, we have to go. Take Lance with you," she says, and I wake him up to follow her lead.
