Justin’s P.O.V. Jason is with Hunter to help her take care of some of Gabe and Brent’s duties and Emma just walked into Jayce’s office with Ella, telling us Hunter and Jason just left for a Pack. I burst into laughter when Emma is finished talking and Jayce has a grin on his face. Emma shows us a picture of the man that is telling the Pack he is Gabe and I link Dad, Brent and Gabe to get to the bottom of this. They are in the office within seconds and when I tell them what has happened Brent looks at Gabe and both of them are rolling in the aisles. However, a roar erupts from Gabe as I show him the picture and I get this feeling that he knows the man in the picture, a few seconds later his Father walks into the room with a murderous look on his face. Marc is not easily angered, so this means there is something very wrong here and both, Dad and Brent, look at Gabe for answers. Marc tells Gabe to go see his Son and leave this to him, Gabe is quick to take his Father advice and rushes out the door. We all sit down to listen to Marc’s explanation, but before he can start his story Ella’s phone starts ringing and she puts it on speaker while she places the phone in the middle of the table. “Hunter, Gabe knows her Mate and his Father is going to explain it to us. You’re on speaker.” She says. Marc tells us that the guy in the photo is a relative, but that they had no contact with him as his Father and his family had been banished from Palace grounds decades ago. Marc tells us that His Father had taken a chosen Mate after he had rejected his fated Mate. “That in it self is not strange, it happens more often than we think and sometimes it is for good reason. In this case it wasn’t for a good reason, he wanted a strong female to give him strong heirs and his fated Mate was an Omega. She nearly lost her life because of the rejection, but the worse thing was that he had slept with her on numerous occasions before he rejected her and he killed their Pup in the process. Your Grandfather was the one that found her and knew who she was to his Gamma, knew that there was a chance she was pregnant.” Marc is breathing heavily as if he struggles to get the words out. I link Drew to ask him if he can get to Jayce’s office after I tell him what is going on and within a few seconds the door flies open while Drew walks in, followed by Linda and Paula. Hunter’s P.O.V. Alice stares at me and Jason as another contraction hits her, I grab her hand to give her something to hold on to and Jason tells her to keep breathing. I grab my phone to call Ella, because I want answers and not just for Gabe but also for Alice. I don’t even get the chance to tell them that Alice is here or that she can hear them, Marc just starts talking about what happened and something tells me this is very difficult for him to talk about. I hear the door open and I know that Drew is there. “Paula, why don’t you go see Gabe?” Marc asks, but I have a feeling she is not going anywhere. Marc sighs as I hear footsteps in the background. “Your Grandfather linked your Grandmother to prepare a room on their floor and linked the Doctor to meet him up there. He took her into the Palace through the hidden passage ways and by the time the Doctor had finished examining her she had lost their Pup, a little girl. There was something only two people in the Palace knew about her and that was that she was the Daughter of a Gamma, she had fled her Pack when her future Alpha had tried to forcefully mark her. Your Grandfather had decided to let her stay in the Palace and she chose to live with the Omegas, to work alongside them. It was the loss of her Pup that nearly killed her and when your Grandfather confronted his Gamma he had told your Grandfather that he didn’t need a weak female as his second chance. He showed no remorse when he heard their Pup had died and if rumors are true he even told your Grandfather that he was glad the Pup had not survived, your Grandfather was not sure what to do with his Gamma. He thought about it for a few days, but couldn’t come up with an answer. My parents and I came to visit the Palace as the Gamma was my Father’s Nephew and I had been bored with all the females that tried to get my attention, so I started to wander the hallways of the Palace. I suddenly smelt the most delicious smell in the world and that is how I found Paula, my fated Mate.” Alice’s screams as another contraction hits her and Marc is quiet for a few moments. “I linked my Mother as I could see she was scared and I didn’t know what to do. Mom asked me to wait outside her room and after they talked for a while Mom walked out and told me to take it easy and slow with Paula. It took her a few hours to tell me what had happened and I can tell you I was ready to rip him a second asshole. Mom linked me that dinner was ready and Paula decided to come with me as I promised her I would protect her if he tried anything. Dad had been filled in by Mom and he wasn’t happy with his Nephew to say the least, but shit hit the fan when Paula and I walked into the dining room. He tried to attack Paula, but Dad was fast to knock him down and warned him to stay away from his Daughter in law. It didn’t faze him at all and during our stay at the Palace he tried on multiple occasions to attack Paula, but he never got a chance to get close to her. It was that behavior that made your Grandfather take his title away from him and he offered me the position as his Gamma. We all know how that turned out, but none of us ever heard anything from him again.” Marc concludes and I hear growls from everywhere.
