Love Times Four: My Stepbrothers Are All My Mates?
Aspen’s P.O.V. I stop in front of the door next to ours and I take a deep breath before I swing open the door. Daniel steps inside and for a moment he says absolutely nothing, “Aspen.” He whispers and as he turns around I can see the question in his eyes, I grab his hand to place it on my belly. “We are going to have a Pup.” I say as I look into his eyes with a huge smile on my face. I see total panic in his eyes and for a moment I am worried that he is not happy, but then he asks how I feel and if I am okay. “We didn’t hurt you, did we?” He asks and I immediately understand what he is talking about. “No, you didn’t hurt me or our Pup. I will tell you if something is feeling uncomfortable or if I start feeling sick.” I whisper as I wrap my arms around his body and I feel him relax instantly as he wraps his arms around me, “Do you want to tell them at dinner or should we wait a few days?” I ask. “Joshua and I will become very protective of you and our Pup, more than we already are and that means that it will be obvious for some people. We will tell them at dinner, that way everyone can get used to the idea of a Pup arriving and it won’t look strange if you are looking at any baby stuff.” Daniel says and I smile up at him. “Is it possible for you to become even more protective?” I ask teasingly, knowing that they will because of their unborn Pup and I smile at him as he playfully growls at me. “Wait until you start showing, you will not walk one step again.” He says and we both start laughing. We both look at the nursery I have been working on and even though there is still a lot that needs to be done, I like the mural I made on the right side of the room. There were boxes with furniture on the left side of the room and Daniel starts to place them on the floor, in the spot where he wants to put them. It doesn’t take long before he has sorted everything out and even though he didn’t ask me anything he has placed the boxes right where I wanted the furniture to go. Just as Daniel is about to open the first box there is a knock on our door and we quickly leave the room, locking the door behind us. Gabe’s P.O.V. My life is amazing, I always wanted to find my Mate and I did everything I could to find him. From an early age it had been clear to me that I would find a male instead of a female, even my parents have always known and not once did I get the feeling I was letting them down. I know that the same goes for Brent and his family, but we both know there is one thing our parents want that we can not give them and that is Grandpups. Brent and I discussed this issue over and over again, both coming to the same conclusion we want to adopt a Pup. We are going to talk to Daniel and Aspen about what we need to do before we can take a Pup home. Both of them have experience with Pups and they will know what we need to do to our Quarters to make is Pup proof as Grant calls it. Daniel opens the door as Aspen walks out of the kitchen with two cups of coffee in her hand and he gestures for us to come in as Aspen asks us if we want coffee as well. Once we are all seated with a cup of coffee Brent tells them what we have decided and I see a huge smile on Aspen’s face. “You will make excellent parents to a Pup that doesn’t have any and we will help you in any way we can. Did you look at adoption agencies?” She asks and Brent and I stare at each other, while we shake our heads. “Okay, lets get that sorted first.” She says as she grabs her tablet and starts typing. About half an hour before dinner we have found an agency that doesn’t care about same sex couples and Aspen goes through the website to tell us what we need to do. It is a lengthy process that we will have to go through, but we don’t care. “It says here that it will take at least a year before you will be able to adopt a Pup, but that most couples they have worked with hardly ever have to wait much longer than that.” Aspen says and I ask her to send me the link of the website. “Don’t start on a nursery yet.” She says. “It will only make the wait much longer as that room will remind you of what you want every single day, I would suggest starting a month or two before the year is up and I will help in any way I can.” We are heading down to the main living room to wait until dinner time, Daniel and Aspen wanted to get changed before coming down to meet us.
