Hunter’s P.O.V. If my mind gets filled with pieces faster than it can solve than I shut down, literally. I start feeling dizzy and within seconds I blackout, there is only one way to handle it so far. That is why I wanted all of you in here, I need you to listen to what my Mates discovered and after that I will start asking questions. I ask the questions not only to get an answer, but also to slow my mind down by focusing on one thing at the time. Jax, will you tell everyone what you told me during lunch.” I say and I sit down in an armchair with June on my lap. She wraps her arms around me and softly rocks me from left to right, calming me and Justice down in a strange way. It works, so no one is going to hear me complain. Besides I love holding this little girl and apparently she loves holding me too. Once Jax is finished I let them process the information, before I start firing my questions into the room. Why is he against the succession Law? How did he get that past his Father and the Pack? Why doesn’t he feel like an Alpha? Why doesn’t he allow Uncle Todd and Aunt Sasha to leave? Does this apply to the rightful Beta as well? It is quiet for a moment and the first answer comes from an unexpected mouth, “Our Beta escaped four years ago.” Peter says and I ask him to clarify his answer. “Dad is constantly watched by Warriors and if he gets to close to the border Alpha Frank shows up. He knows Dad will never leave us behind, so he makes sure one of us is at the Pack-house at all times. Our Beta has no Mate or Pups and that makes it a little more difficult for Alpha Frank. He is also good at sneaking around and he snuck passed his Guards one day, no one ever saw him again. It took them hours before they realized he was gone and by then it was too late.” Peter explains and I feel the anger in the room. “Thank you for explaining that, Peter. That makes me ask an extra question, why is it so important for him to keep you around, Uncle Todd.” I ask and I know that he doesn’t have the answer, but Ella does as she mumbles “He is the strongest in the Pack, next to the former Alpha.” I turn my head towards the Warriors and ask them if they have seen the training grounds of this Pack. “There are no training grounds any more, Alpha Frank says it is a waste of time and money. No one has trained since the day he brought home his Mate.” One of them answers. Uncle Todd confirms his answer, “Dad trained me in our backyard, away from prying eyes as Alpha Frank made it clear no one was allowed to train anymore. In the beginning some tried to train or talk to him about it, but that never went well.” “How the hell are you supposed to protect a Pack with weak fighters?” Max asks and he just gave me the answer to some of my questions. “He doesn’t allow you to leave because he fears that the Pack will lose all its strength if you leave.His Beta and his Gamma don’t come from a line of High-ranking Wolves and I have a feeling that Alpha Quinten is still the Alpha. Somehow he made his Son think he stepped down, but I am not sure how he managed to do that.” I say and everyone is lost in his own mind. June pulls us all from our thoughts when she says “Make believe” and I start laughing as I realize the five year old is correct. Alpha Quinten used make believe to fool his Son and he has been very successful in it, but I don’t understand why he hasn’t stopped his Son yet. “June, you are absolutely right. He used make believe.” I say as I pull her closer and everyone is laughing. “With that most of the questions are answered, but the question that remains is why is he against the succession Law?” I look at Emma and Ella and they tell me they will dive into the Archives in the morning. With all the talking we did we missed dinner, but I don't really mind. I have been able to settle my mind and I got to spend time with my family, I learned a lot about them by just looking at them. I am a little tired and I know I will be facing Alpha Frank again in the morning, not something I am looking forward to. I send everyone off to bed and tell Uncle Todd that they can have this suite and the one next to it as the bathroom connects both rooms. I put June down in one of the beds and tuck her in as everyone else is leaving the room, I wish them all a goodnight before I walk out the room as well.
