Love Fix
"No way, Mr. Graham is engaged?" "High-society families always match up with suitable partners, what's so surprising about that? I just checked online, Mr. Graham's in-laws are actually the Oblistan nobility, the Lastesh Group!" "Wow, their wedding is going to be a major event, a real-life prince and princess story! I'm so jealous!" "First, you'd need to be reborn into that kind of life! You think just anyone can marry Mr. Graham?" Summer washed her hands, waiting for the gossip to fade before she turned off the water; her fingers were red from scrubbing too hard. Head bowed, her pale face unreadable, she just stared at the floor and walked out. She missed a step on the ground and stumbled. Summer leaned forward, about to fall. In the next second, a strong hand grasped her slender waist, and suddenly, Summer was up against a firm body. The familiar scent of pine hit her. Turning her head, she saw that impeccably handsome face. Fraser's casual voice echoed in the hallway, "What were you thinking about, not watching where you're going?" Looking into Fraser's deep eyes, Summer felt a slight ache in her chest—not severe, just like an invisible needle pricking deeper. After a moment, she said, "Thank you." Realizing she was still in his arms, Summer immediately pushed him away. Fraser saw her reaction; his eyes lazily flickered, but he said nothing. He pulled out a cigarette from his pocket, tapped the end of the pack with his index finger, drew one out, and placed it between his lips, then pulled out a lighter. The purple-blue flame sparked, lighting the cigarette. The flickering light cast an unreal glow on his face. Fraser took a leisurely drag.Summer walked on, but couldn't help looking back at the man standing there smoking, his tall and lean silhouette as perfect as a sculpture. She couldn't resist and said, "I heard you're getting married. Congratulations." Fraser's eyes narrowed slightly, his dark gaze fixed on her a few steps away, his tone mocking, "Do you care?" Summer heard her own voice, nearly numb, "Does it matter if I care?" Fraser's dark eyes lingered on her, his gaze as if trying to see through her, word by word, "If you say you care, I'll call it off." Summer's heart skipped a beat unexpectedly. She looked at Fraser, her lips twitching slightly, "Mr. Graham, you seem to have forgotten what our relationship is, still in the mood to joke." Fraser's dark eyes stayed on the woman a few steps away. Her demure gaze, long and curled eyelashes hid her emotions, only her tightly pressed lips visible. Fraser dropped his cigarette, his expensive leather shoes grinding it into the ground, leaving a smear of crimson. He walked toward Summer with a noble stride, his dark eyes intense enough to drown her. "Summer, do you want to come back to my side?" It doesn't matter if you don't love me, just being near me is enough. Fraser's voice was deep and seductive, huskily bewitching, almost unreal. Summer blinked slowly, opened her mouth slightly. At that moment, the sound of a man talking to a server nearby carried over. "Hello, could you check the restroom for a woman in a white suit?" Summer saw Lucas and snapped back to reality. "Fraser, you might be a master at games, but I'm not playing this one anymore." With that, Summer turned and walked toward him. Fraser frowned, grabbing her slender wrist to stop her."Who is he?" Lucas, hearing the commotion in the hallway, looked over. Summer quickly shook off Fraser, "It's none of your business." She reached Lucas, "What are you doing here?" Lucas joked, "You were gone for a while; just making sure you were okay." Summer didn't look back but could feel the intense gaze on her back, making her uneasy and eager to leave. "Let's go." Lucas nodded, his gaze thoughtful as he glanced at Fraser standing not far away. Fraser stood tall, his gaze sharp, exuding the dominance of a leader, his presence overwhelming. The two men's eyes met in the air for a few seconds. Lucas slowly withdrew his gaze and returned to the table with Summer. He poured her a glass of warm water, "You look a bit pale." Summer touched her face, "I guess I was just too focused on absorbing Mr. Ryan's knowledge earlier, used up all my brainpower."
