Love Fix
Summer wanted to turn away, but the bitterness surged up her nose, making her chest ache unbearably. "What? Regretting it now?" Fraser was furious that this woman only knew how to push him away. His chest felt like it had been pierced by a sharp blade, bleeding profusely. The more it hurt, the more he wanted her to understand that she could only be his! "Summer, when you came to me asking for entry rights, you knew this day would come." Summer bit her lip, her eyes burning, but she forced herself to stay calm. She sniffed slightly. "I know the rules of the game. No need to remind me." Fraser leaned in close, his lips brushing against her ear, whispering like a lover speaking sweet nothings. "So, breaking up is only my decision to make." Even though she was angry, Summer's body still betrayed her, trembling from his touch. "Are you done? If you are, I'm going to work." The next second, Fraser casually let go of her. Summer immediately grabbed the door handle and pushed it open. Behind her, his sexy voice reached her ears. "Be good and come to Ravenshire Boulevard tonight." The car door was pulled open and then slammed shut. Standing beside the limited-edition Rolls-Royce, Summer felt the wind lift the hem of her dress and tangle her hair. A single teardrop in her eyes vanished into the air. … When Summer took the elevator up to Aspira Design Institute, she saw that Sienna had already returned with the drafts. She slumped in her seat, no longer the energetic person she had been in the morning. Merry stood stiffly, her eyes darting around as she was too afraid to look directly at Summer. Summer walked over, feeling like she had just fought a losing battle. She said flatly, "I am that pathetic fiancée of Trevor's. But now, we've broken up." Merry immediately realized she had been caught eavesdropping and quickly whispered, "Ms. Stewart, I won't gossip again." Hearing the voices, Sienna lifted her head. "What are you guys talking about?" By the time Summer arrived upstairs, she had already composed herself. "Nothing. How did your meeting go today?" Sienna let out a sigh, looking completely deflated. "Summer, I think you should withdraw your investment. I don't want to drag you down. I must be cursed–after my divorce, I lost all of the family's money, and now, even when I try to start my own business, I can't make it work." Summer pulled out a chair and sat down beside her. "I just got here, and you're already trying to kick me out? That doesn't seem fair, Sienna. Besides, I'm a shareholder now. The rise and fall of this institute is partly my concern too." Merry couldn't help but add, "Boss has been working so hard to secure the GloryPath Construction project. The big design firms got straight into the final round, while Aspira Design Institute didn't even qualify to compete against Havenbrook, a tiny firm." Hearing this, Sienna's shoulders slumped even further. Merry stuck out her tongue, quickly trying to smooth things over. "Boss, don't be like this! Ms. Stewart will definitely come up with a solution!" The next second, both Merry and Sienna turned their hopeful eyes toward Summer. Summer felt a headache coming on. You guys sure know how to put me on a pedestal. That evening, on her way home, Summer subconsciously drove toward Brookhaven Estates. Her phone, placed on the seat, suddenly lit up with a message, "Ravenshire Boulevard. Waiting for you." When Summer saw the message, her grip on the steering wheel instinctively tightened. Waiting for my ass! Despite her thoughts, the car still turned in the direction of the message at the last intersection. Half an hour later, she arrived at Ravenshire Boulevard. She didn't know if Fraser had notified security in advance, but the diligent guards immediately waved her through after seeing her license plate. After parking the car, Summer took the private elevator directly up to the 66th floor. She entered the passcode, and the grand doors slid open from both sides. The vast, luxurious living room was illuminated by dazzling lights, but there was no one in sight. Summer stood at the entrance for a moment before slowly stepping inside. She bent slightly to change into the same pair of slippers she had worn the other day. Just then, the sound of a door opening came from the bedroom. A tall figure emerged casually from the room. Fraser had a towel loosely tied around his waist, his toned abs on display, his chest damp, with droplets trickling down the contours of his body and disappearing into his firm muscles. His wet hair dripped silently.Summer blinked. It felt like she was back on that first morning after being kidnapped and waking up next to him. That morning, he had also walked out of the bathroom just like this. Fraser lazily ran a towel through his hair as he walked toward the open-concept kitchen. He poured himself a glass of water, leaning against the counter as he drank. Then, he looked at her.
