Love Fix

Chapter 141 A Reckless Kiss

Fraser’s face darkened, his voice ice-cold and terrifying. “A minor incident? You got kidnapped and thrown off a damn cliff, and you call that a minor incident?” Summer froze at Fraser’s frigid words. Even if she was slow to catch on, she could still feel the anger radiating from him. “Why are you so mad? Just because I didn’t tell you I was kidnapped?” Fraser’s dark eyes locked onto hers, unreadable yet piercing. “Is that all I am to you? Someone so insignificant I don’t even deserve to know?” So insignificant that even when you were hurt, I never crossed your mind. Summer clenched her fists, her nails digging into her palm. Yes, her phone had been broken, and Julia sent someone to deliver a new one the next day. So why didn’t she tell him? Because it wasn’t necessary. She didn’t even know if he was back. She didn’t know if another woman’s voice would answer on the other end. Besides, their relationship was already coming to an end. There was no point in saying anything. But Summer’s eyes still burned, her chest still tightened with frustration, and a mist of tears welled up at the corners of her eyes. She sniffed and forced herself to sound calm. “I never said that. If you’re just here to argue, come back another day. I’m not in the mood.” Ha! Did she think I came to argue? The moment he heard she had been kidnapped and thrown off a cliff, he felt panic like never before. He’d rushed to the hospital without a second thought. Even when Trevor, that little punk, had been the one to save her, the only thing that had mattered to him was that she was alive. And yet, this woman thought he was here to argue. A sharp pain tightened in Fraser’s chest. He wanted to shake some sense into her, but damn, he felt like a fool. His gaze bore into hers for a long moment, his dark eyes unreadable. Without a word, he turned and walked towards the door. Just as he reached the doorway— A soft cough came from behind him. His footsteps halted. His jaw clenched. His fingers curled into a tight fist, veins visible beneath his skin. And in the very next second— He turned back. Striding towards her in a few quick steps, he cupped the back of her head and pressed his lips against hers with fierce intensity. Frustration. Fear. The overwhelming relief of having her back—all of it poured into that kiss. His kiss was deep and relentless, filled with raw hunger and desperation, as if he was afraid of losing her all over again. Sitting on the hospital bed, Summer had no choice but to tilt her head up and take the kiss head-on. There was nowhere to run from his overpowering presence. All she could do was endure it—this fierce, domineering kiss that, beneath its intensity, seemed to tremble ever so slightly. Sunlight streamed through the hospital window, bathing them in a golden glow. The air between them thickened, warm and charged with something neither of them could name. Just as Fraser’s heated palm slid under her gray hospital gown— A knock suddenly echoed from the door. "Ms. Stewart, it's time for your injection." As the words fell, two nurses pushed open the door—only to freeze at the sight before them. He leaned down, pulling her into his arms as he kissed her. Her head tilted back, dark hair cascading behind her, the whole scene looking like something out of a movie—too perfect to be real. Hearing the voices, Summer snapped out of it and quickly pushed Fraser away, her face burning. These nurses had been tending to her daily, changing her bandages and administering her IVs. Meanwhile, Fraser remained unfazed, his only reaction a slight frown, clearly irritated by the interruption. He stood up and, without hesitation, reached out to wipe the moisture from the corner of Summer’s lips. Summer’s eyes widened, her face burning even hotter. Even her neck was flushed red. She wished she could disappear right then and there! The two nurses, clearly flustered, exchanged glances. It was the first time they’d ever seen a man this ridiculously handsome up close, and even they couldn’t help but blush. "Ms. Stewart… Should we, uh, come back later?" Summer coughed awkwardly. "N-No… that’s not necessary." With that, the two nurses shuffled inside, awkwardly pushing the medication cart in unison as if they had forgotten how to walk properly. One nurse began preparing the IV. The other hung the IV bag on the stand and then reached for the syringe, the needle gleaming under the hospital lights. Summer instinctively shut her eyes, slowly extending her arm with a slight tremble. Fraser scoffed. "Coward." That’s what he said—but his actions told a different story. Without hesitation, he stepped forward, pulling Summer against his chest and pressing her face into him. His large hand patted her back—awkward, stiff, but oddly comforting. "Just get it over with." Both Summer and the nurse were stunned into silence. Under Fraser’s intense gaze, the young nurse’s normally steady hands trembled, despite her experience. Under immense pressure, she finally managed to insert the IV needle properly. The moment they stepped out of the room, she let out a shaky breath, realizing she was covered in a cold sweat. "That was intense. I swear, if I messed up, that guy would’ve had my nursing license revoked on the spot." The other nurse giggled. "Did you see the way he looked at Ms. Stewart? His eyes were locked on her like she was the only person in the world."
