Alpha Amarath
Jocelyn’s p.o.v. I can feel that Jospeh is somewhere far away in thought, it is obvious that he is talking to someone and my guess would be Inti. Both of them are lying on their backs, looking up at the sky and their eye color changes from time to time. A clear indication that they are communicating with their Wolves and it feels to me as if this is a very serious subject, but I could be mistaken. Erylis is lying in the back of my mind, she keeps showing me an image of a chain forming. One link at the time, but I am not sure why she thinks it is something she needs to show me. “This is how it feels to me.” She says and I am just staring at her for a minute. “This is how it feels when we are close to Joseph and Griffin, as if there is a chain forming between us. I don’t have anything else to compare it to, this is the best I could come up with.” She responds to my lack of a response. I let her words sink in and try to figure out what that chain could represent. To me a chain connects something, binds something. But what could a chain mean for us, there is nothing that connects me to Joseph and there is nothing that binds me to Joseph. I am placing Faye and Christian on a sleeping bag, both of them fast asleep. I curl myself around them, by back against Joseph’s side and I will take my time to think about this chain. “Any idea what this chain might mean, Erylis?” I ask her, knowing that she has heard and seen my thoughts. She agrees with me that a chain is to connect or bind something, so what could that chain mean when it comes to me and Joseph. How could we be connected? “Erylis, is it possible that this is replacing the Mate-bond Mom and Dad had?” I ask her and for a moment we are both silent. A Mate-bond connects and binds two Wolves or Lycans together, but how can we tell if this Mate-bond is similar to the bond our parents once had. “Probably the same way. A Wolf or Lycan would never agree to a chosen Mate, if there was a change they could find their fated Mate.Maybe Wolves and Lycans will have a bigger part in finding a true Mate-bond, because I would consider it a true Mate-bond if both parties agree on this bond.” Erylis says. There is enough information on chosen Mates and in most cases the Wolves and Lycans didn’t agree with the choice their Human made. Those bonds usually were very unstable, resulting in rejection or cheating. So, if a Mate-bond chosen by the Goddess is comparable to a chain forming between two Wolves and a chosen Mate is missing that chain, than maybe Erylis is right. Maybe we need to rely on our Wolf or Lycan more to find a Mate-bond and if the Human and Wolf half agree, it could be considered a true Mate-bond. Now for the hardest part, how do I figure out if Joseph and Griffin feel the same way? I don’t get a chance to think about it, because someone alerts us to Wolves approaching through the mind-link and Joey pops up next to me to look after the little ones. Joseph growls as I walk to the outside of the circle and Erylis pushes forward to growl back at him, she doesn’t really like his overprotectiveness. “If this does turn into a Mate-bond, you know it will only get worse.” I remind her and she retreats to the back of my mind, letting me deal with Joseph. There are six Wolves slowly walking our way and something tells me that they are Alpha Grant’s Warriors, one of them shifts back to Human form to do the talking. My hunch is correct, Alpha Grant send them our way to take our unwanted guests back and I am glad we will be rid of them soon enough. “Alpha, I don’t want to go with them. He will forcefully mark me.” Hailey whines and the Wolves look at her as if she has two heads. Inti just smiles her way, but doesn’t say a word and he steps a little closer to Indigo. None of us likes the look Hailey gives Inti and if we had been home I would have thought she was interested in him, but my gut tells me that she is only using it as a means to an end. “Sorry, Hailey. I am not going to stop them from taking you back home, I don’t believe that Alpha Grant is a horrible male. Alpha Grant will determent what happens to you and your Father, I know what I would do to your Father and that isn’t much good.” Into growls. Indigo places her hand on his lower back and I can see that he and Ronion are calming down, which is a good thing because I think he might have killed her. “Where are Jocelyn and Indigo?” The Warrior asks and we both take a step forward, earning us both a growl from Griffin and Ronion. He raises his hands as he says, “My name is Chris, I am Beta Christopher’s youngest Son. My Dad just wanted me to tell you that if you ever want to come back, the door is wide open.” “Jojo.” Jenna says as she pulls at the seam of my dress and I get down on my hunches. “No go, Jojo.” She whispers as she is softly crying. She wraps her arms around my neck and I get back up with her in my arms, holding her tightly in my arms. “I am not going anywhere, Baby. I am not leaving you, you are stuck with me.” I say. “Jocelyn, maybe they would like something to eat before they leave again.” I hear an Omega say in my head and I know that they are already preparing food for the Warriors. “Why don’t you all shift back to Human form and get something to eat before you head home.” I say and I see a smile form on Chris’ face. After they have eaten, the Warriors get ready to leave with our unwanted guests and Chris walks up to Indigo. “We will look after your Mom. Stay in touch, Baby Sister.” He says before he pulls her into a hug and a soft growl is heard from behind us.
