Alpha Amarath

Chapter 741 Left Unprotected

Inti’s p.o.v. I don’t know why Kardia feels the need to hide, but knowing that she feels uneasy enough to stay out of sight is enough for Ronion. The males and female look as if they have been on the road for weeks, all of them covered in blood, dirt and a variety of other muck. I doubt they have seen a bed or a shower for almost as long, but I also understand why Kardia felt that something was off. I might be looking at an Alpha, but something tells me that he doesn’t have a Pack anymore. Ronion hands back control to me and after I have put some sweats on, I turn my attention to the five Wolves in front of me. “What can we do for you?” I ask, my eyes locked with the Alpha’s eyes and I patiently wait for an answer. I hear Ronion chuckle in my head at his request, but my lack of a response seems to piss the female off and she repeats the demand of her Father. “Alpha, that is Hailey. She is from our former Pack, but we never knew she was the Alpha’s Daughter. You need to find out what happened to his Pack, I might have an answer but I need to hear it from him.” I hear Indigo say in my head and I know that she has a piece of information that she isn’t supposed to have. “Sorry, not going to happen. Where is the rest of your Pack, Alpha?” I ask and the three males to my left are starting to look uncomfortable. They can’t see the majority of the convoy and I doubt he would have made his demands if he knew what was actually behind me. I just wait for the Alpha to respond, Hailey steps closer to her Father and I know that I will not get an honest answer at first. “Around.” He answers and now I can hear other Pack-members chuckle in my head. “You might want to check behind you, Alpha” I say, the moment I see Griffin step out of the tree line behind them and Hailey grabs her Father’s arm tighter. I cross my arms in front of my chest and decide to wait for an answer, an answer I am going to get. It might take a few minutes, but he will answer none the less. “Alpha, the forest is clear.” I hear a Warrior say through the mind-link. If this is the Alpha of Indigo’s former Pack and he is out here looking like he walked through hell, he must have pissed someone off. His eyes widen as he looks behind me and I believe he has finally understood his predicament, he is vastly outnumbered. “Well, Alpha?” I ask and he knows the question I want an answer too. “I wasn’t planning on becoming an old Alpha’s Mate, just to get extra protection for our Pack. I am an Alpha’s Daughter and I deserve a handsome, young Alpha.” Hailey responds and I think I have a good idea what happened. “No, you were willing to hand over an innocent female. Where did your conscience go, Alpha?” I hear Indigo ask. “Jocelyn and I were there that night, we heard that you planned to hand Jocelyn over to Alpha Grant if you couldn’t find someone that was trying to break your new Pack-rule. A rule you made to make sure you wouldn’t have to hand over your Daughter.” Griffin stalks closer to the Alpha, growling loudly as the distance becomes smaller and it isn’t just directed at the Alpha. “Alpha, in case you are wondering, that is my Gamma and he doesn’t like what you had planned for one of our Pack-members. Oh, and just so you know, I am not going to stop him.” I say, before I take two steps back. This is Griffin’s show and I just hope that we can get a few answers before he rips that Moron to pieces. “I had no female to give to Alpha Grant and he demanded I give him Hailey or he would allow his Warriors to attack. I told him that I needed to convince Hailey, but I used that time to escape and took these three with me. I have no idea what happened to the rest of my Pack, my best guess is that they are dead.” He finally says, his eyes locked with Griffin’s eyes. “I doubt it, because Indigo and I would have felt it if our Moms had gotten killed.” Jocelyn says, but she isn’t looking at the Alpha or his Daughter. No, her eyes are locked with those of Grriffin and she walks towards him in a steady pace. One of her hands slides through his fur, the other is holding a phone and I watch as she presses a button on the phone. I send a prayer up to the Goddess, this call needs to go through for Jocelyn and Indigo’s sake. “Alpha Grant.” We can hear clearly and I see Hailey staring at her Father. “Did the Pack-members survive?” Jocelyn asks and for a moment it is quiet at the other end of the line. “What’s it to you?” Alpha Grant asks, he isn’t rude because I can hear the sincerity in his voice. “I was once a member of that Pack, my Mom is still there and I would like to know if she is still alive.” Jocelyn explains.“No one got killed, but it isn’t thanks to your former Alpha.” He growls and we can hear a door in the background open. “It is thanks to one of the Pack-members that nothing bad happened, she is here with me and might be able to tell you if your Mom is still alive.” “Hello.” A female voice says and I can see relief wash over Jocelyn. “Mom.” She replies and for a moment all we hear are the soft cries of both females. “Is Aunt…” “Yes, she is fine. Be careful, your Fathers and Brothers…” Her Mom starts to say, but Jocelyn interrupts her. “We know, but they are no longer alive. Our former Alpha and his Daughter are still alive, though.” Jocelyn says and we can hear Alpha Grant growl. “Start walking to the clearing, we will follow and take your former Alpha with us. If Alpha Grant wants them, he can send six Warriors to pick them up.” I tell Jocelyn over the mind-link. Her hand is still in Griffin’s fur as she starts walking towards the clearing, still talking to her Mom on the phone and I hope that she can get a few answers.
