Alpha Amarath

Chapter 447 Looking For Me

Lance "Josy, put a picture of Tanya's Sister in the system. I want to know if she ever shows up here again," Lakota says. "Also make sure I am aware of anyone coming in that doesn't use the password; I will make sure that at least one Warrior is here at all times. I don't want anyone trying to mess with my Pack-members," she growls, and I know Colton is already on it. I place my hand on her lower back as I tell her through the mind-link that Armas just arrived; I am glad he is here to deal with Shithat and take him off our hands. I walk outside to get some fresh air, and I growl loudly as Armand wraps her in his arms. Before he can say anything, I have pulled my Mate out of his arms, and the look on my face is enough warning for him to take a step back—not that I would stand a chance against a Lycan as well trained as Armand. However, he understands that it is best to stay away from her, and she leans into me as she explains that we are fated Mates. "Well, it looks like congratulations are in order, Alpha Lakota," Armas says, and I see Armand's eyes widen; looks like he wasn't aware of that development. "Thank you, Council-member Armas. I know we have somewhere to be, but there have been some developments we need to talk about. I would like you to accompany me to our Pack-house; you can bring the Squads with you as we will not be going to the hidden territory," Lakota says, and I know she wants to tell him about Jake as well, hoping to find out if a third chance Mate was ever given by the Goddess, or maybe Lakota just got lucky. "Alpha, what kind of music do I hear?" one of the Squad-members asks, and Quinn tells him that it is called Celtic music from the Human era, that the lyrics are either in Irish Gaelic or Scots Gaelic. "Wow, where did you find it?" He asks, and again Quinn answers him. They keep talking about the music as we walk back to our territory, Keir waiting for us on the front steps, and the look on his face tells me that he already knows what happened at the diner. "Do I need to deal with the Asshole in our cells?" He asks Lakota, and I see Armas looking between Lakota and Keir. "Dad, I think that is something the Council might want to handle. They already know a part of what happened, and him showing up here wasn't by accident. Her Sister told him where they were going; I am glad we have all those precautions, or he might have been ripped to shreds by her Mate," she answers, and everyone that was present knows that he wouldn't have survived an attack from her Mate. I quickly explain what happened in the diner, and Armand gets the order to contact Council-member Finlay to come get Shithat, while he follows me into my office. Dad and Lance are the only two that follow us in, and Colton stays outside my office. I tell Armas that I found my second chance Mate on our way to the territory, and I find out that a third Mate is sometimes granted to those that deserve it according to our Goddess. "My next question might seem a bit odd, but it is something I need an answer to. Are there any other shifters besides Wolves and Lycans?" I ask him. "There are a few reports of Wolves or Lycans that told their Alpha, but most were written off as a figment of their imagination due to trauma. We always took every report seriously, but we never found any evidence to support their claims, and for the past two centuries there have been no reports on an encounter with another shifter," he answers. "Jake was a Mountain Lion, and it was also the reason Hidden Mountain Pack took chosen Mates," I say before I tell him what I read in Jake's journals. "If I ever find another shifter, I will take them in as a Pack-member; I will leave it up to them whether or not the Council is allowed to know," I state, and he just nods his head. We head back to the diner to get into the SUVs and make our way over to Silver Shadow Pack. Soon my former Mate will realize that he tried to mess with the wrong female, and I am going to make Carl and Joe regret following his lead; I will take their fated Mates with me to hide them away from the rest of the world. Unknown I haven't seen my Sister since her Mate took her with him, but something tells me that she isn't in a good place, and from the bits and pieces I have heard around the Pack I am not going to like what is happening to her. A branch snapping draws my attention to my left, and I see a young male sneaking through the bushes and trees. He keeps looking over his shoulder with a look of fear in his eyes, and if I had to guess I would say he is going to run away from the Pack. The small backpack on his back indicates that he is prepared for his departure and that his journey might take a while. At first I want to ignore him to find another way to reach my Sister, but then I hear him whisper, "I will get help, Denali." I doubt there is more than one shifter in that Pack that carries the name Denali, and I decide to follow the young Wolf to his destination, no matter where that might be. He will have more information on her situation than I do, and something tells me that he will get more done as a young Wolf than me. He keeps a good eye on his surroundings, and he is able to avoid the Warriors that are on patrol; it takes him about an hour to sneak his way out of the territory. I follow him at a safe distance, and I see that he is smart enough to stay clear of the main road, traveling through the trees and bushes. He stops a few times during the day, but never longer than is necessary, and by nightfall he finds a place to sleep. Makucha keeps watch over both of us as we both rest for the night, and just before dawn he wakes me up to danger getting closer; I smell the scent of Rogues. I see two of them slowly approaching the cave the young Wolf is in, but I also know that there are more of them close by, and I allow Makucha to take care of these two.We follow the scent of two more Rogues after he has killed them, and soon we find the other two Rogues, only minutes away from the cave. It doesn't take us long to kill them, and just as I reach my hide-out the young Wolf emerges from the cave, ready to continue his journey to wherever this road may lead him. The young Wolf is smart because he doesn't run or stop for too long; it feels as if he has had training from someone with battle experience, and I am glad that he is unable to smell my scent. There is no doubt in my mind he would have noticed me if he could smell my scent, and then I would have a lot of explaining to do. After two more nights we finally reach a huge building, and I know from my Father's stories that this is where the Council of the Werewolves and Lycans reside. He promised Denali he would get help, and here he will find the help he needs to keep his promise. Three hours later, eleven males walk out of the building towards the waiting SUVs, and Makucha follows them at high speed. It doesn't take us long to realize that they are not heading towards the Pack Denali lives in, and we both start to panic a little. It takes me a few minutes to realize where we are, but soon I recognize the territory my family once lived in, and I wonder what they could possibly need to do out here. My family abandoned the territory after the last Werewolf Pack died out, and to my knowledge no one has ever settled down here again. Makucha nearly runs into a tree when we see a diner and motel in the middle of the forest; the sign above it states, "Crystal Blood Diner & Motel," and I recall Dad mentioning that Pack a long time ago. I softly chuckle when I hear the Werewolf growling at the Lycan, but I am stunned when I hear someone refer to her as the Alpha. "Sounds like things have really changed around here," Makucha says. I follow them to an area that is all too familiar to me, and I wonder if they have found the rest of the territory. I am able to get close to the small Pack-house, but I can't hear what is being said inside the office, and we decide to wait near the diner to see if and when they are leaving. Most of the Wolves and Lycans that get into the SUVs are male, except for the Alpha and another female. She sniffs the air as she looks around, but apparently she can't find what she smelled, and I wonder if there is danger around. When the SUV the female is in passes us, I know what she was looking for. She was looking for me, her fated Mate.
