Alpha Amarath

Chapter 422 Growling

Lance I smile as I wake up, because today is the day I will sever my tie to Silver Shadow Pack, and Bolt and I know we will never regret this day. I always asked questions about things Alpha Geofry or his Beta did or wanted us to do, and sometimes I wondered if they were trying to ruin the Pack on purpose. The only one in our Pack's leadership that showed he had a brain was Gamma Keir, and hearing he was the Son of an Alpha and had been an Alpha for years himself made sense. I think he even changed a few things in our border patrols to prevent anyone from doing what was done to his Pack. I don't doubt a few of the Warriors will take the search parties for Lakota as a chance to leave Silver Shadow Pack, and I ask Keir if I can send a message to those that are on our side, just in case they decide to leave the Pack in search of another Pack to live in. Keir and Lakota talk about it through their family-link, and it is Lakota that asks me a question, "Do you think any of them would mind following a female Alpha?" I think about it for a minute, but I know that will be the future for Crystal Blood Pack if Keir ever steps down. "None of them would object, especially if it means getting a better Alpha than Alpha Geofry." I answer, and I know that is the truth. Within ten minutes, I have sent out the messages, and after an hour, I get the first response from one of them; he lets me know that he is with his Mate and two other Warriors. I give them direction towards us and tell them to leave the Pack-bond in place for a few more hours, just to give them time to get a head start. By the time we stop for dinner, all of them have reached out to me, and each of them is on their way to meet up with us. They also made sure that each of their teams took a direction in which we left, and every other team was sent in the opposite direction. Lakota had laughed when I told them about that, and she had asked out loud if Alpha Geofry was really that dumb to let a Warrior that lost three of his Pack-members decide which team went in what direction. Keir and I had laughed our asses off before I had sent out that question. "Oh, Lakota. Alpha Geofry isn't that dumb, but our Warrior was smarter. He had put those teams on searching in the opposite direction, and Alpha Geofry sent them in our direction." I say as I laugh, and I would love to see the look on his face when he realizes what he did. Our bond with Silver Shadow Pack has been broken for half a day by the time we stop to rest for the night, and Keir asks if I would accept him as his Alpha to establish a mind-link. "I would be honored to become a part of Crystal Blood Pack, Alpha." I answer him with a smile on my face. Lakota is the first that gets initiated into Crystal Blood Pack, and I feel the mind-link and Pack-bond snap into place the moment Keir initiates me into his Pack. "This feels like coming home." I say through our newly formed mind-link, and I hear Lakota giggle in my head. After a good night's sleep, I get woken up by Lakota's voice in my head. "Don't move; we are a little closer to a Pack border than we thought." I strain my hearing to find out in which direction the border is, and that is when I hear voices close by. We hear a male rejecting a female, and she screams as she gets hit by the pain of the rejection. "Please, Goddess. Let her accept the asshole's rejection." I send the prayer to the Goddess, and it seems that the female has heard my prayer as we hear her accepting his rejection, but what has Bolt roaring in my head are his next words. "Leave the territory and don't ever come back." She begs him to reconsider, to let her get her baby Sister and baby Brother. "No need for you to go and get them; here they are. Now get out of here." He growls before he walks away, and I hear her trying to comfort her siblings. "Okay, the coast is clear. I am going to approach them; I am not sure how they will react to the two of you." Lakota says before she cuts off the link, and soon I hear her soft voice talking to the young female and her siblings. Lakota convinces her to sever the Pack-bond, that there is a new Pack waiting for them, and after ten minutes or so, Lakota shows up with three young Wolves. We give them the remainder of our food before Lakota makes us some coffee, but the youngest female is crying too much to be able to eat, and I do the only thing I can think of. I walk away a few steps before I strip down and shift into Bolt; he curls himself around her to calm her down. It takes a few minutes before she calms down enough to eat, and once she is finished, she snuggles into Bolt's side to drift off to sleep. Keir takes the time to explain to the female where we are going and that she is welcome to join us with her siblings, something she accepts quietly. Just as we are ready to head out again, we hear paws pounding on the ground, making Keir and Lakota take on a fighting stance and the others hide behind Bolt. Four Wolves emerge from some bushes, and they come to a stop right in front of Keir, baring their necks in submission to him. After they have shifted and put on some clothes, they tell Keir that Alpha Geofry is very pissed off with him, but it doesn't faze him. Four more members are joined in with our Pack-bond, and I feel better knowing that our Pack is growing bigger. We are expecting at least nine more Warriors to join us along the way, and we might find more Wolves or Lycans that are in need of a new Pack, a Pack that will accept them for who they are. Keir has shifted into Echo to carry the female, while Bolt carries both her siblings, and the rest keep an eye out for trouble. We make good progress, and Keir expects us to arrive at the first friendly Pack by mid-morning tomorrow. I really hope Keir is correct in his assumption that they will uphold an alliance that they had with a Pack that was annihilated over fifteen years ago. By the time we stop for the night, we have gained twelve Pack-members; one of the Warriors brought his Sister along, and two Omegas tagged along as well. Bolt hands control back to me after the two Pups have climbed off his back, and again both of them thank me for the ride."Lance, follow me." Lakota orders in my head, and I follow her without asking questions; she must have heard something as I watch her slowly stepping away from the Pack. It takes a few minutes before I am able to hear anything, and the both of us sneak closer to the sound. We hear someone softly crying as we get closer, and the moment we walk around the large tree in front of us, we see a female lying on the ground, curled up into a little ball. Lakota clears her throat to let the female know that we are there, and despite her being in obvious pain, she stands up into a fighting stance. Lakota and I raise our hands to show her that we mean no harm, and she slowly lowers herself back onto the ground; if I had to give it my best guess, I would say she got rejected. "My name is Lakota, and this is Lance." Lakota says, and she asks the female her name and what happened to her. "My name is Quinnlan, but everyone calls me Quinn. My Father is the Gamma of our Pack, and I was supposed to take over the position, but our future Alpha always made it clear he didn't want a female in that position. He also was my fated Mate, but today he finally rejected me after putting me through excruciating pain by sleeping with his chosen Mate." She whispers. I can see it takes a lot out of her to tell us what she went through, and it is safe to say that her former Mate intended to kill her. She was already weak because of his cheating, and on top of it, he rejected her, but he hadn't counted on her determination to survive. "Quinn, would you like to become a part of Crystal Blood Pack?" Lakota asks, and Quinn asks her if she thinks she is funny; both of us stare at her. She tells us that her Pack was about to broker an alliance with Crystal Blood Pack when it got annihilated during a Rogue attack. Lakota pulls her necklace from her shirt, and Quinn looks from the pendant to Lakota and back again. "How?" She whispers, and Lakota explains it in very big lines to her. "I would be honored to become a part of Crystal Blood Pack; I will do my best to prove my worth to my new Alpha." She answers. I lift her up in my arms while Lakota grabs her bags, and we head back to the campsite. Keir talks to Quinn as Lakota and I sit down to have some dinner, and I smile as I see the young Pups running around. "Let's hope we get to our new territory fast; I would like to stay in one place a little longer." I mumble before I take another bite of my food. Quinn gets introduced to the others, and as she is eating her dinner, she tells the others what happened to her; all of them growling when they realize what was meant to happen to her.
