Alpha Amarath
Jax’s P.O.V. I thought I would be jealous if I found out our Princess had been with one of my Brothers, but to my surprise I am not and Brick tells me that has to do with the bond I have with my Brothers. Anyone can see that we are not a quadruplet, but the bond we share equals that of a quadruplet. Just like they are not jealous of one and other, my Brothers and I won’t be jealous of one and other. We want to see our Princess happy and if alone time makes her happy than that is what she will get, without her having to worry how the rest of us might feel about that. I for one am glad she found the Law on age of consent as it makes life a little bit easier for me and my Brothers, I don’t know if it would have made a difference for Adam and Esther thou. I think she still would have done the same thing to him and it would have ended the same. Dad had asked Hunter if he could start the meeting with the Elders, he wanted them to know that he was aware of what the Council of Elders is really about and that he would find out which Elder hid it from the Royal Family. Brent told me that Dad had read the entire book on the Council of Elders and he had been cussing and swearing a few times. Now, making Dad cuss and swear is not an easy task and that tells me that he has found a few things the Elders did, but were not allowed to do without his permission. I am looking forward to this meeting, but like Jason I hope this will be a short meeting. We are already in our seat when the Elders walk into the Throne room and I see them all staring at the empty seat among them, the seat where Elder Ward would have been sitting if it weren’t for the fact that he is in the Dungeons. Hunter had asked me to link Victor the moment all the other Elders were present, because she wants them to see what will happen if someone crosses her. Shock is evident on the faces of the Elders as Victor guides Elder Ward into the Throne room, it takes a few minutes before the Elders have calmed down and Dad doesn’t waste time as he gets out of his seat. “Elders, Princess Hunter already made us aware of the fact that we have lost sight of our Laws. She also pointed out that the Council of Elders is no longer working as it was supposed to and I have been reading up on what the Council of Elders is meant to do. There are a lot of things you can do without consulting me as long as you follow the Laws, but there need to be three Elders to rule a verdict. This is the one stipulation that has stayed intact over the years, other than that we have lost track of your job description. For the next few days we will be going through the Laws that you, as Council of Elders, have to abide by and we will see if there is something we need to chance or add. Your opinion on those Laws are needed and I will listen to each and every one of you. Right now, I will let Princess Hunter explain the situation with Elder Ward.” Dad says and most Elders look pleased with Dad’s words, but there are a few that look as if they will oppose him every chance they get. Once Dad has taken his seat he pulls Mom closer to him and Hunter takes his place on the floor in front of the Elders, “Elders, we are not obligated to let you witness this process. The King has the final say in this matter and the evidence against Elder Ward is enough. However, we know that most of you have done your job without knowing all of the Laws you have to abide by and for that reason we want your opinion on what you think about what Elder Ward is accused of.” She doesn’t look like a seventeen year old as she is addressing the Elders. Our Princess tells the Elders what Elder Ward did after Dad acknowledged the Law on Age of Consent and most of the Elders are shaking their heads in disdain. Elder Tamra asks Hunter what the Laws say about what he did and her face pales as she listens to Hunter. I keep my eyes on Elder Ward as our Princess asked me to do, she wants to know his reaction to what she has to say and we all hope that he was unaware of the consequences. One Elder after the other ask questions and Hunter answers all of them. Elder Ward doesn’t look as if he cares about what might happen to him and I link Emma to ask her if she has time to look into this for me, she replies that she is on it. Jason’s P.O.V. I am proud of our Princess as she answers every question the Elders ask, the Elders I am keeping an eye on seem to be impressed with how well prepared Hunter is. The more questions she answers the more relaxed the Elders become and it looks like their respect for her grows with every answer she gives. From the corner of my eyes I see that Elder Ward is still looking at her as if she is an insignificant Pup, he seems to forget that she is our future Queen and one day the Council of Elders has to answer to us instead of Dad. Elder Matthew’s question on the consequences of Elder Ward’s actions pulls me from my thoughts and I hear the Elders gasp as she inform him that Elder Ward could be getting the death penalty. Soft murmurs are heard as the Elders are talking among themselves for a few moments. “Elder Ward was informed that he holds no power, just like the rest of you. Law states that you are allowed to give your personal opinion on Laws if an Alpha asks you about it, but contacting Alphas to tell them to oppose a Law is forbidden. He feels like he is above everyone else and that he is allowed to force others to follow his lead, but even his own family stopped opposing the Law once they found out he had not been completely honest with them. After careful consideration of all circumstances in this matter we have decided to strip him of his title as Elder, if he wants to continue working for the Council of Elders he will be on probation for five years. If he decides to completely leave the Council of Elders he is no longer allowed access to the Palace.” She says. She explains the details of his probation and why we chose this punishment instead of putting him to death, but she surprises all of us when she tells them this is probably not what he had been hoping for, “Elder Ward has given up on life. He lost his Mate and Pup about a year ago, but I have a feeling none of you were informed of that. I can’t tell you what he has gone through, because I never lost anyone I care about and I doubt I can imagine what he is going through. However, I want to remind him that he is not the only one that has ever lost a loved one and using their death as an excuse will not be tolerated.” She says as she is looking at former Elder Ward and I believe he finally understands that Hunter is very smart for a seventeen year old. As the Elders talk amongst themselves Hunter walks towards Ward and strips him of his title. She asks him what he choses to do and he asks if he can have a few days to think about it, which she grants him. By the time we emerge from the Throne room it is time for dinner and I hear Hunter giggle as Jax shakes his ass, probably feeling sore from sitting down so long. Not that I am doing much better, but at least she can’t see that I am walking a bit awkward. Gabe burst out in laughter as he sees Jax looking at his seat with a pout, sitting down for dinner after our meeting with the Elders is apparently unappealing to him and by the look on Jayce’s face I can tell he feels the same. Truth be told I think Justin and I would rather not sit down as well, even Mom looks a bit uncomfortable as she slowly sits down. Hunter and Dad are not affected as neither one of them sat down as long as the rest of us, I have to stifle a smile as I see Max walking in with a stack of cushions and Mom quickly gets up to grab one away from him. She lets out a sigh of relief as she sits down on the cushion and Dad chuckles as he places her plate in front of her, which earns him a smack on his upper arm from Mom. He grabs his arm as he says Ouch and Mom rolls her eyes at him, while Hunter giggles. I am not sure if those cushion will help us at all, but seeing the look on Jax’s face after he sits down is enough for me and I quickly load my plate full of food. Martha has made all of my favorites and I am afraid I will overeat as usual when she has prepared the dishes I really love. Logan tells me to keep an eye on Mom without alerting the others and at first I don’t see what he had noticed, but then I see her steal a piece of meat from Gabe’s plate. Logan is rolling around in my head as Gabe doesn’t notice what Mom did. “That is why Dad and Gabe needed refills last night.” Logan snickers in my head and as I look up at Hunter I know she had noticed it as well.
