Aspen’s P.O.V. She has only been gone for a few days, but I already miss my Daughter and with the rest of the family gone as well it is quiet around the Palace. Even Martha is unusually quiet these days and I think it might have something to do with Max, but I can’t be too sure about that. Daniel is going through some paperwork with Brent and Gabe as I sit behind my own desk in our private office. I smile as I remember the day after we arrived here and our Sons told me they had a surprise for me. Right outside this office Jayce put a blindfold on me as Jax did the same to Daniel and when they finally pulled the blindfolds away I was shocked to say the least. They had rearranged Daniel’s office and put in a desk just for me. Even though they didn’t know me or met me at the time they had figured out I didn’t want something extravagant, I love the desk they put here for me and I love that I can keep an eye on Daniel or stare outside if I want to. The four of us stop what we are doing as we hear the howl indicating that at least one of our Pups is home and more howls join the first one and I am glad that this time I am wide awake to hear it start. Martha walks in with a smile on her face and tells us she will make sure lunch is served in our private wing today. That woman knows exactly what to do in any type of circumstances and the four of us rush down the stairs to see if all our Pups have come home. I hope Hunter will at least talk to me while she is at home and I hope she will give me the chance to tell her how sorry I am. Daniel puts his arm around my shoulder and pulls me closer to his side as we see Hunter’s SUV approach. I smile as I recognize Hunter driving and I can see that all our Pups are with her, making our family whole again. I also see that one SUV is missing and I think both our Dads decided to spend a little more time with Aunt Sasha. Daniel’s P.O.V. I can feel relief washing over my Mate as we see Hunter’s SUV approaching and I am glad we get to spend some time with our Pups before they take off again for whatever reason. I know I will have to get used to them coming and going, but as a parent that will never become easy. Hunter jumps into Gabe’s arms as she calls out “GeeGee”, he hugs her tight as I greet our Sons and they each hug Aspen without hesitation. I wonder what happened while they were at Three Mountain Pack, but I will wait for lunch to get a few answers from them. Hunter has greeted Gabe and Brent as she jumps into my arms and I squeeze her tight as I rock her from left to right. She kisses my face all over and I hear Max chuckle as he waves goodbye to Matt and Victor.Aspen is waiting anxiously as I put Hunter on her feet, but my Mate had nothing to worry about as Hunter wraps her arms around her and whispers in her ear, “I missed you, Mom.” I fake pout as I hear her say those words and Aspen sticks out her tongue at me, making our Sons chuckle as my jaw drops. “Woman, did you just stick out your tongue to me?” Joshua growls and Aspen jumps behind Hunter as she giggles, Hunter looks at me with a twinkle in her eyes. ‘Mom, do I have to kick his ass?” She asks, sending everyone into a fit of laughter. We all know she can handle me as well as she can handle Jayce and I gulp loudly as I shake my head. She wraps her arms around my neck and tells me she missed me too, “Dad, by the time this day is over you will regret that I came home.” She says and by the look in her eyes I know she found out something. “Okay, let’s have lunch first. After that we can discuss whatever you have found in the past few days.” I say as she jumps on to Jason’s back and we all walk back into the Palace, surprising them as we walk to our private wing. However I doubt they will mind staying there for the time being. Hunter’s P.O.V. I am not surprised that Martha suggested that we’d have lunch in our own wing and I am relieved that we can talk during lunch, not sure if I could have waited until after lunch. I needed to start talking about what I had found out. “Mom, Dad. There is a lot I have found out about our Laws and there is a lot we need to discuss about one of them as it affects this family as well. However, I will start with what we found in Three Mountain Pack.” I say and Mom giggles as I tell her that I scare the shit out of Aunt Sasha. I tell them about the call Aunt Sasha had with her family and I tell them about Peter, Cara, Benjamin and June, from time to time the others take over to allow me to eat. Brent and Gabe start laughing when we tell them about Ellen’s make-up running down her face. “Please, tell me you invited June to come here for a visit. I would love to see that little demon for myself.” Brent says and I tell them that they will be visiting us real soon, but that is all I say about it. Once lunch is over I tell Martha we do not want to be disturbed and I ask Daphne to stand guard outside our wing. I sit down in an armchair and I can tell that my Mates are not happy with that, but I need to be free from distraction as I tell Mom, Dad, Gabe and Brent what I found out. “The day after tomorrow I will be addressing the Elders once again and I have fourteen people that will have a story to tell that is similar to ours. I think a lot of people will like what I found out, even though I understand that not everyone will be too happy with it. The Law I found needs to be changed in some ways, but has to be restored none the less. I have been thinking about all the information I found and I know a few changes have to be made to protect everyone, but it will be best if it is reinstated.” I know that what I am saying doesn’t make much sense to them.I ask Jason to read the second and third attachment and everyone listens in silence as he reads both files out loud. Mom looks at me as if she wants to ask me something, but she doesn’t as I slowly close my eyes. Mom, Dad, Gabe and Brent are quiet for a while as they process what Jason just said out loud, Dad is the first one that starts talking and what he says are things we have already discussed ourselves. Mom keeps quiet as Dad starts arguing with Brent on the age on consent, even though I think she has a few things to say about it too. The moment Dad is silent I turn to Mom and say “Mom, I need to hear everyone’s opinion on this matter. It is necessary to make this Law the best it can be for everyone as everyone can find an underaged Mate and I doubt anyone wants to find themselves in my situation if it can be prevented.” Mom tells me her thoughts on this subject, but she also tells me what she figured out while I was with Aunt Sasha and she tells me that she is glad she had some time to think about everything with me not around. “I know that sounds a bit harsh, Pumpkin, but I don’t mean it in a bad way. I needed to process what was happening between the five of you and I think you already knew some of what Jason just told us. Maybe not all of it, but enough for you to feel comfortable enough to take your relationship a bit further.” I know that Mom is right, having read the first attachment I knew I wasn’t doing anything wrong with my Mates and I also knew they wouldn’t take it too far. I tell them about the trial in the first attachment and I know that Mom understands why I didn’t stop my Mates that day. “We need to discuss what can and can’t be done, what the punishment will be if someone breaks the Law and what to do when someone forbids a Lycan or Werewolf to tell his or her underaged Mate.” I say and we start debating on how to give this Law the correct form. Everyone has an opinion about it and we discuss every point of view, Martha walks in to tell us dinner is ready as we are discussing the age of consent. “Martha, will you please give me your opinion as well? I would like to hear what your thoughts are on this subject.” Dad tells her to join us for dinner and during dinner she tells me her thoughts, which are making a lot of sense to all of us. She gives me a few ideas on how to handle with a couple involving an underaged Mate and I am glad I asked for her opinion. “I have witnessed first hand what can happen when you are not allowed to tell your underaged Mate and I am not talking about the five of you. In the Pack I grew up in it happened to the Beta and his Mate actually ran away when she found out, I am not sure if they ever got together again. I left a few weeks after that to start my service at the Palace and I have been here ever since. I had no family left in my old Pack, so there was no one that could have kept me informed.” She says and I ask her the name of her old Pack. After she answer me I tell her that they did get back together and that their Son is the current Beta of her old Pack. I tell them there are couples coming that weren’t as lucky, that they still had not found their way back to one and other. “However, I feel there is still a chance for these couples. None of them have taken chosen Mates and none of them has rejected their Mate. I hope they are willing to give their Mate-bond a chance when they hear our story.” I say.
