Justin’s P.O.V. Jason smiles at Aspen as he prepares his coffee and she starts laughing as he puts his sugar and creamer in. I never understood why he puts all of that in his coffee, but than again he has to drink it. Jax and Jayce drink their coffee black, just like Dad and from what I saw Aspen takes it like I do with just a bit of sugar. Jason stares at her in confusion as she is calming herself down, once she is able to she says, “You take your poison the same way as Hunter does. I don’t understand why you have to put all of that in there. Don’t drink it if you don’t like it, is what I always say to Hunter and for some reason that always makes her mad.” She says and we all stare at Jason and his coffee. We hear Brent arguing with someone as his voice becomes louder, the closer he gets to the dining-room. “You can not say something like that, I will tell Daniel if you don’t promise right know to keep remarks like that to yourself.” “Lover’s quarrel?” Aspen asks and we all start laughing until we hear a familiar voice answer. “BeeBee, I can say these things and threatening to tell Dad is not going to work. I have been shifting since I was eleven, I have seen….” She doesn’t get to say anything else because Brent interrupts her “Princess, that’s it. Shut up.” He growls and I hear Gabe laughing his ass off, all of us staring at the door. Brent walks in with a face that looks like a thundercloud and he stomps over to his usual seat. Gabe follows him while he is still laughing and Hunter greets her Mom and then she greets Dad. “Princess, why is Brent so mad at you?” Dad asks and the expression on Aspen’s face tells me that he should have left that one alone, because I doubt any of us are ready for the answer. Brent is shaking his head, but Dad ignores him as he is staring up at Hunter. Jayce pulls his chair back and puts her on his knee so it is easier for her to look at Dad. She smiles at him before her gaze travels to Brent and she turns back to Dad to answer him. “After I walked around the Palace gardens for a while, I got bored and decided to wake up GeeGee and BeeBee.” She says and my Brothers and I share a look of confusion. “When BeeBee saw it was me, he slammed the door shut in my face. He opened it again with in a minute and apologized for opening the door butt naked.” A twinkle in Aspen’s eyes tells me that Brent had a good reason to tell Hunter to shut up. “I asked GeeGee if his Mate was an idiot, after all I have been shifting since I was eleven and have seen my fair share of cocks.” She never takes her eyes of Dad as she speaks and I spit out the zip of coffee I just took.Gabe is laughing uncontrollably and Aspen isn’t doing much better, Dad’s face has turned from a light red color to a dark red color. I look at Jayce across the table and we both burst out in laughter, Jason and Jax join us immediately. Brent starts laughing, but I am not sure if it is because he finally realizes that is hilarious or that it is Dad’s face that caused it. She puts her head above Jayce’s coffee and I hear her mutter “Eww” before she sits up straight, looking around the table. “Here, you can have mine. Your Mom says we drink our poison the same way.” Jason says as he holds out his mug. She takes a small zip and a smile spreads across her face when she realizes he was telling the truth. “Thanks for sharing your coffee with me, PJ.” She says and now Dad starts laughing. He is still laughing when the last dishes for breakfast are brought in and Esther puts a small plate in front of Aspen and the empty seat between Jayce and Jason. “Excuse me, Esther, but what is that for?” Hunter asks pointing at the plates and the cup Esther put down as Hunter asked her that question. “Your Highness, that is your plate for breakfast and a cup for your tea.” She says with a fake smile plastered on her face. “Fuck, do you expect me to walk a marathon to get the food I need in to my system?” She says and she grabs the cup and puts it in front of Jason as she says “I hope you like tea, because I sure as hell don’t.” “Your Highness, you are a female and a youngster. You don’t need a lot to eat and you should watch your mouth.” Esther hisses and before we can blink our eyes Hunter has jumped up and pinned Esther to the floor. She is growling at Esther as I see her claws coming out, luckily Jax is close by and pulls her of Esther before she could do any damage. “Calm down, Princess. Just breath.” He says as he holds her close to his chest, running circles on her back with his hand. “Esther, get out and don’t bother coming back tomorrow. The King will get you a job far away from the Palace, you are no longer welcome here.” Jayce says as he holds open the door for her. She wants to object, but Jayce growling at her makes her run from the room. Another staff-member walks in with two larger plates and a mug to replace the teacup. Aspen thanks her as she switches the plates and also grabs the teapot on her way out, with a small, satisfied smile on her face. Jax is still busy calming Hunter down as the rest of us put food on our plates, I grab Hunter’s and Jax’s plate and go back to the buffet. Aspen piles food on Hunter’s plate and for a second I want to question her actions. “She will finish all that and then some, Justin.” I hear her say in my head and I gasp at the amount of food on the plate. As she walks back to the table she holds the plate in front of Hunter and her eyes light up as she takes a look at all that is on the plate.She takes it from her Mom as she gets up, she turns to Jax and places a kiss on his forehead. “Thank you, PJ.” She says before she walks to her seat between Jayce and Jason. She doesn’t waste time as she attacks the food on her plate, Brent and Gabe don’t seem to be too impressed and as I raise a brow in question Gabe says, “We have had breakfast with her before, this is normal.” My Brothers and I stare at Hunter as she devours the sausages on her plate, we glance at her plate from time to time as we eat in silence and Aspen hadn’t been kidding. She went for seconds after she had emptied her plate, she had two coffees and when she declined a third Aspen had looked at her. She told Aspen she had had coffee before she left the Palace, so she was at her max for today. Once we are all finished Dad tells us that he wants us to go to his office down the hall, because there are things we need to know about Aspen and Hunter. Martha walks in with some staff-members and they start to clear the table. “Justin, why were we not mad when Jax was holding our Mate?” Slade asks and I don’t have an answer for him, other than that Jax is our Brother. He seems satisfied with that answer and retreats to the back of my head as he keeps an eye on Hunter. Aspen tells us about Hunter’s Father and Dad tells us about the conspiracy they uncovered against Aspen and Hunter. Slade growls in my head at both stories and he vows to me that he will always keep our Mate safe. “Did I hear you correctly when you said that you shifted at eleven?” Jason asks out of the blue and Hunter just nods her head. I don’t think I have ever heard of a Werewolf shifting at such a young age, but Jax beats me to asking that out loud. Hunter snorts and says “No, PJ. I am not a Werewolf, I am a Lycan. Just like my poor excuse of a Father.” Now I understand why she was so fast when she jumped Esther. “Dad, I think I understand why Hunter doesn’t like your training rules.” Jayce says and I hear Hunter growl at his words. “Princess, don’t you dear growl at me. Those rules are in place for a reason, you are only fourteen and can’t compete with the big boys.” My heart skips a beat or two when I hear how young she is and Slade is quick to point out that it will take four years before she can tell that we are her Mate. Slade is whining in the back of my head and I pull up a wall to tune him out.
