Alpha Amarath
Justin’s P.O.V. I get a notification on my phone as we are still trying to make sense of Jayce’s words. We all felt emotions going haywire, but we also knew they were not ours. Jayce had sent a message to Gabe to find out what it is we could have felt, but so far there has been no response and it might take a while if they are in the middle of a meeting. Your Father found his second chance the message from Brent reads and I start jumping up and down as my Lycan and I are cheering. “Justin, calm down.” Jax says. “He found her.” Is all I say and we all start laughing. Jax quickly calls him to verify the message from Brent and he gets a huge smile on his face as he talks to Dad. Dad will be bringing home his Mate and we talk about what she might look like. We wonder from which of the Packs she is if she is of a high-rank or if she is of the working class. “Do you know if she is a Werewolf or a Lycan?” Jason asks as he looks at Jax and he asks him “Didn’t you listen to the conversation I had with Dad? She is a Werewolf.” “Sorry, I was to shocked. Mom died decades ago and we all thought he would never be ready for a second chance. The first time he travels after telling us he wants a second chance, he finds her.” Jason mumbles. “Jason, you are right. I am sorry if I sounded blunt, it was not my intention.” Jax responds and we all know that he means it. Jax doesn’t apologize often, so when he does it is because he means it. Jayce is pacing up and down the room and I ask him what is on his mind. “It has always been normal to feel Dad’s emotions from time to time, but now we have to get used to feeling his Mate’s emotions and I think that will take some time to get into my system.” He says. We all start laughing as we know that he will have the most trouble adjusting to that, being the oldest he feels as if he needs to put a lid on his emotions at all times and sometimes I feel sorry for my Brother. “Guys, maybe we should show her and Dad that we are happy for them.” Jax says and we know that he has already thought of a way to do that, so we just sit back to listen to his idea. Two hours later we are done and Martha, our Head of the Household, tells us that our Father will be proud of us. “His Mate will really appreciate this. She will know that you accept her and that you are happy for them. It was time for your Father to find happiness again and I am glad that I get to see him smiling again.” She says and we know that she has seen our Father during every stage of his life. She watched him grow up; she saw the disappointment when he didn’t find his Mate. She saw him after he found our Mother, how happy he was and how broken he was when she died. Now, we all get to see him happy again. Daniel’s P.O.V. Today is the Harvest Moon and when the Moon reaches its highest peak tonight every unmated male and female can find their Mate. I really hope that within the next few years Brent and Gabe will find their Mate and I hope the same for my Sons. Hunter is still a few years away from being able to find her Mate, she will turn fifteen in eight days and that means that she will have to wait until she is almost nineteen before she can find him. It will take more than four years and I am glad that I get to know her before her Mate takes her away from us. Jayce will be the one that will never leave home as he is next in line for the throne, but I will hate saying goodbye to my other Sons if they decide to leave with their Mate. “Daniel, I have no idea what is expected of me as your Mate. I am a Doctor; I have always been on my own and I don’t know if I will be any good at this.” Aspen says and I hear Gabe gasp. “Aspen, you are a Doctor. You treat everyone the same, you will do what ever you can to help a patient. No matter why they are in front of you, you treat them all the same. Being his Mate is no different, you will treat everyone the same and will always try to do what is best for them. I believe that your job prepared you better for this job than anything else could have.” Brent says and I smile because he has a point there. Aspen is quiet for a few minutes as she processes what Brent just told her and I see a smile appear on her face as she nods her head. “Thank you, Brent. I didn’t think of it that way, but I guess you are right.” She replies. Hunter has been quiet ever since we left their Pack, she has been staring out the window as we have talked about everything Aspen could come up with. It doesn’t feel as if she is nervous or anxious and I wonder what is going through her mind. “Hunter, are you okay?” I ask her and for a moment I am not sure if she will answer me. “I am fine, Dad. Just trying not to freak out about the fact that I will be living in a fucking Castle.” I burst out in laughter at her words and the others just stare at me. “I asked Hunter if she was okay, she hasn’t said a word since we drove off and she had me a little worried. The answer I got was not the answer I was expecting from Hunter. I thought she would be worried about a lot of things, not about living in a Castle.” I say and we all burst out in laughter. “Don’t worry, Princess. It is just a very big Pack-house.” Brent says and she smiles at him. Brent tells her that we live in the east wing of the Palace and that most unmated males and females live in the west wing. She turns her head to Gabe and asks him why he lied to her. “What do you mean, Princess? I would never lie to you, no matter what.” He asks shocked. “Hunter, he didn’t lie to you.” I say, because I know why she asked him that question. “The Pack-house in my Pack’s territory is as Gabe described, it is the place I meet with Alphas that need help from the Royals. Only the Council knows who I really am, no one outside the Palace Grounds knows that I am the King. To make sure no one will ever know, we built a Pack-house on that territory and there is a Pack living there. They are a part of the King’s Pack and they volunteered to live there to keep my identity a secret. It functions as a normal Pack, even though I am not there on a daily basis. I have two Betas and two Gammas, so there is always leadership at the Pack and they are Gabe and Brent’s younger Brothers. Both of them have a Mate and Pups, they love living there and they know what I expect them to do.” Hunter turns her head towards the window and I know she is processing my words. It is a lot to take in and I give her the time she needs to come to terms with it. My Father never wanted to keep my identity a secret, but after two attempts to kidnap me and loosing his Mate during the last attempt he knew he had to. No one ever answered any questions about the last attempt and soon rumors had spread that I had died with my Mother. The Council had agreed with my Father and the rumors had never been denied. When he had taken a chosen Mate rumors started to go around that she had given birth to the next heir, but again it was not confirmed or denied. They never had any offspring; Father had chosen his Mate because she couldn’t have any Pups and she had always known that. She raised me and I am grateful for the time I had with the both of them. The love they shared was nothing compared to what my parents had, but my Father was happy and that was the most important thing to me. She died long before I met my Mate and I felt sorry they never had the change to get to know one and other.
