Theresa, the Doomsday Queen
"Shut up!" "Harrance, Lily ignored you until you surpassed her. She only cares about your money and power, not you. Only after you had surpassed her in the college entrance exam did she acknowledge you. She never loved you! She only loves your money, your strength. Without them, she'd never love you!" "Clara!" "Harrance, only I have loved you for who you are. I waited fifteen years, loving you no matter what. That woman is impossible! If you die, she'll remarry immediately! She won't send anyone to save you! Wake up!" After her voice faded, the room fell silent again. Outside the room, footsteps approached, breaking the silence. Clara panicked, grabbing the door. "Harrance! The zombies are coming! Please promise me! I can't go on without your love!" "Clara!" Others in the room tried to pull Clara back as she tore at the boards. "Stop it!" Harrance shouted. Her eyes filled with tears as she locked gazes with him. "Harrance, choose Lily or me." As she finished speaking, a loud bang echoed. The wooden door behind her was kicked open. The force of the door sent Clara flying from the doorway. Everyone tensed. Harrance, unmoving until now, leapt up to catch Clara tightly. "Clara!" "Harrance, zombies are coming! We're dying! Tell me who you choose!" "Stop it, Clara. I choose you. You won't die." As he spoke, he held her tightly, flames surging around him, ready to face the zombies. When he looked up, it wasn't zombies that charged. It was a group of armed humans. A large squad of operatives, weapons ready, with a woman in a down jacket at the center. Her leg still in a kicking pose, she lazily withdrew her foot, watching them with interest. "Oh, look at this unfortunate pair of lovebirds." Harrance, hearing her voice and confirming she was human, furrowed his brows. The woman in his arms looked terrified. "Who are you?" "Sent by Lily, deputy camp leader of your East Sea Alliance, to rescue you," Theresa said lazily. Calvin, following her, added quickly, "Mr. Kane! They're from the Blazing Sun Alliance! They came specifically to save all of you!" Seeing familiar faces, everyone inside erupted with relief. "It's Calvin!" "Finally, the rescue has arrived!" "Awesome!" Harrance's expression softened. He held Clara upright. "Hello, I'm Harrance, commander of East Sea Alliance." Theresa crossed her arms, a faint mockery on her face. "I heard the commander and deputy commander of East Sea Alliance are a devoted couple. Today, I'm lucky enough to witness it." Harrance's ears flushed red, feeling caught off guard. He quickly released Clara from his arms. But the moment he did, she whimpered, clutching her waist. "Harrance, I think I hurt my back." "What's wrong?" Harrance asked, concern etched on his face. "I can't walk." Clara looked pitiful, tears in her eyes. Harrance picked her up again without hesitation. "Everyone, let's leave here first." He carried her toward the exit. Theresa stood by the doorway, coldly observing them.As they passed, Clara glared at her with hatred, suspicion, and a hint of jealousy. Theresa raised an eyebrow but said nothing. She wasn't one to meddle in personal matters, especially now. She merely noted Clara's character—a true pretender. Her gaze swept the room; four or five others remained inside.
