Theresa, the Doomsday Queen

Chapter 654 Super Signal Tower

And she definitely didn't send Theron, that reckless idiot. She sent only me. That proves it—at least in Theresa's eyes, I'm better than both Lucas and Theron. Bennie felt just as confident about this part. He enjoyed that meal a lot. When he finished eating, an idea popped into his head. "Theresa, I actually have something I want to run by you." "Say it." "I think with what we have now, we should push our reach further. We can build a Super Signal Tower, send signals across the globe, and try to locate every survivor camp out there." Right as he finished speaking, a tone rang out. "Beep. Ultimate Leader System activated. Construction of Super Signal Tower detected. Reward unlocked: GPS Global Satellite System." The system announced. As the voice faded, Bennie spoke again, "All we can send or receive right now are shortwave signals. The range is tiny. If we want to reach anyone out there, we need that Super Signal Tower. The only pity is that the global GPS system collapsed. If we could get our hands on that GPS system, we could reach every corner of the planet." Theresa let out a small smile. "Don't worry about the rest. Just get the Super Signal Tower built." Once the tower stood, the GPS system would be hers anyway. "On it, Ms. Hall." Bennie stood up and headed out to make arrangements. "Remember, you still owe me nine reports." "Got it, Ms. Hall…" Bennie muttered as he left. Theresa had Kyle drive Bennie back to the city. She planned to stay in her own bunker for a few days and actually rest. The road ahead was full of unknowns, but she believed in taking each day as it came and making the most of it. That night, Tania finally woke up. She came to feeling groggy and couldn't remember being kidnapped at all. To her, it felt like she had just woken from a long dream. After seeing her like that, some of the weight on Theresa's chest was eased. It was better for Tania to forget what happened in the Production Company. Theresa stayed in the bunker with her for several days. Once Tania recovered, she immediately began fussing about going back to her research.Theresa hesitated, then suddenly remembered the Eclipse Serum she carried. Professor K had dodged every question about it, and even inside the Production Company, Theresa had felt something mysterious about the serum. It was perfect for Tania to dig into. "Aunt Tania, I want you to study this for a while." "What is it?" "I honestly don't know. Just be careful with it and tell me whatever you find." "Alright." Tania agreed without a second of doubt. … The next morning, Theresa drove Tania back to the city. The city had not changed much in that time. Earlier, to avoid retaliation from the Starborn Order, Theresa had moved a considerable number of people into the three Ark Camps. With that shift, Ansford's growth slowed down while the three Ark Camps thrived. They already had strong foundations, so now they were catching up to Ansford itself. Theresa was pleased with the progress. Those three Ark Camps were her branches. If anything went wrong along the Eastern coast, she could fall back inland at any moment. They were like extensions of herself. As they grew stronger, so did she. "Tyger, from today on, you follow my Aunt Tania and keep her safe," Theresa said after dropping Tania at her lab. "Alright." Tyger nodded and followed Tania inside. Once they left, Theresa returned to her office. She dealt with alliance affairs for the next few days until another piece of good news arrived. Her Super Signal Tower was finally complete. It stood right in the canyon between Branford and Crestmont, a massive structure rising between the cliffs. When construction finished, the system reward came through. It synced the GPS system into the Super Signal Tower and linked it straight to Theresa's system manager, Tessa. It was like she had stumbled through the dark for years, and suddenly everything came into focus. She could finally send and receive signals across the world and see what was happening beyond her borders. On its very first day of operation, the tower picked up an overwhelming number of incoming messages. When Bennie saw the flood of signals from overseas, he froze. "Holy crap. Is our Super Signal Tower actually this strong? How can we pick up this many messages from outside the country?" He had expected nationwide coverage at best. The fact that it reached this far shocked him. It felt like the tower was performing on the level of a fully functioning global GPS network. How is it this powerful? "Maybe this is just luck. Looks like we're the only ones left with a working signal." Theresa said with a satisfied smile as she took in the sight of her newly completed Super Signal Tower.
