Grief, Betrayals, and a Core of Blaze

Chapter 584 The Price of Truth

"Let me follow you to your studio, and I'll tell you the truth." Natalie disliked Yulia's words, but this matter had dragged on for too long. At this point, it was no longer just her seeking the truth; even more, the Stone family wanted to know what had happened back then. Natalie certainly could not take Yulia to the Stone family. She thought for a moment and decided to take Yulia to the studio. When Renee saw Natalie return with Yulia again, she could not help but feel puzzled. "Natalie, did this woman threaten you? Should we call Mr. Gunn?" Seeing Renee so on guard against her, Yulia felt rather annoyed. "I say, miss, I haven't offended you, have I? Why are you so defensive around me?" "You just have a very unsettling look about you." Renee's words nearly made Yulia die of anger. "Natalie, are you going to control her or not?" "Not!" Natalie replied very decisively. Yulia was so angry her eyes turned red, but there was nothing she could do. She was now under someone else's roof and had no choice but to bow her head. Yulia huffily found a chair and sat down, deciding to just shut her mouth and not speak. Seeing her like this, Renee wanted to say more but was stopped by Natalie. "You and Beth can head off early today. I have something to take care of."Renee looked at Yulia with some worry and said, "Will you be okay alone? This woman doesn't look like good news. Don't let her bully you." Yulia, listening from the side, laughed in anger. "Hey, can you be a little quieter when you're judging people? The person herself is still right here." "You can cover your ears and not listen." Renee shot her a direct eye-roll. Yulia's chest ached with anger. "Natalie, should you call Baron over?" "I will." Even if Yulia had not said it, Natalie had planned to do so. Renee was somewhat relieved to hear she was calling Baron. Beth had seen the bodyguards outside. She had once been fortunate enough to witness the combat skills of these bodyguards and knew that one Yulia was not enough to harm Natalie. Since Natalie was asking them to leave, it must be a personal matter she needed to handle. She was not someone who lacked perceptiveness. She quickly put her things aside and said, "I'll head back then. Holt hasn't seen me all day, I wonder how he's doing." "Alright, be careful on your way." Natalie reminded her. Beth smiled, nodded, and then got up to leave. Seeing Beth leave so quickly and decisively, Renee could not say much more. "Call me if you need anything.""Okay, see you tomorrow." "See you tomorrow." After Renee packed her things, she shot Yulia a fierce glare and then left the studio. Only Yulia and Natalie remained in the studio. Yulia sized up the studio with abandon. It was not large, but it was very exquisite. It was clear the person who decorated it had put a lot of thought into it. "Did Baron handle this decoration for you?" Natalie did not answer Yulia's question, instead calling Baron directly. Baron had just finished dealing with the company's vice president when he received Natalie's call. The expression on his face instantly softened. "You're up? Are you hungry? Did you go down to eat?" "I'm fine. Are you busy right now? Can you come to my studio?" Natalie's words made Baron pause for a moment. "You went to the studio? Is there a problem with work?" "Let's talk when you get here. Right, buy me something to eat on the way. I'm hungry." "Okay, I'll head over right now." After Baron hung up, he stood up and left. The man across from him saw this and could not help but say, "You're really trapped." "None of your damn business. Just manage the company."Baron paused after speaking, then looked at the man across from him and said, "I heard that because of your 'death' these past few years, Yulia has become like a mad dog, turning the Gunn family upside down. Since you're not dead, are you sure you're not going to see her?" When Jonas heard Yulia's name, his hands suddenly tightened. His handsome eyes darkened, complex emotions surging and suppressed within them. "It's not time to see her yet." Jonas's voice was low, and if one listened closely, it carried a trace of hoarseness. Baron, however, shrugged indifferently. "Up to you, but Yulia isn't far from going completely crazy. Although I don't have a good impression of the Gunn family, that woman was once kind to you, so I can let things slide with her. Consider it giving you face. However, I heard from Layne that she has already contacted Grant International Holdings. If she really stirs up trouble and hurts my business, Jonas, even if she is your wife, I will not show mercy."
