He Cheated. I Rose.

Chapter 62 Unfair Accusations

"Apologize?" Chloe's voice was cold. "Mrs. Carter, demanding an apology before we know what actually happened seems unfair. Are you saying your position lets you decide who's right and who's wrong, just like that?" Tracy's expression tightened. "Ms. Lewis, that's not what I meant at all," she replied defensively, then quickly turned to a nearby teacher. "Go to the security room. Pull the footage from the classroom. We'll see what really happened." Jennifer looked at Chloe, tears streaking her ruined makeup. "Chloe, I know you can't stand me. Fine. But you can't let your son take it out on my boy! Jenarth is severely allergic to eggs. If the ambulance had been any later today... I don't even want to think about what could have happened." "Don't cry, Mommy! It makes me sad." Jenarth's small hand shakily wiped at Jennifer's cheeks."It's okay, sweetie." Jennifer clutched his hand, then lifted her tear-filled eyes to Chloe. "I'm not asking for the world. I just want my son to be safe." "Jennifer! Jenarth!" A man's loud voice cut through the tension. Arthur, dressed in a sharp suit, rushed to the scene. Chloe raised an eyebrow at Arthur's flustered state. Did he run straight from a board meeting? Arthur glanced over the scene and immediately spotted Jennifer, slumping on the ground, along with Jenarth in her arms. "Jenarth, are you okay?" He hurried over, grabbing the boy's hand and holding it tightly. "Don't be scared. I'm here now." "Look, Mommy! Daddy Arthur came!" Jenarth managed a small smile. Jennifer hugged her son closer, her eyes glistening as she looked at Arthur. "Arthur, all Jenarth wanted was to be friends with Robert. He just wanted to play with him. But Robert... he didn't want to. He even..." Her voice broke, and she let the sentence hang, the unspoken accusation clear. "How could he?" Arthur's anger ignited. He turned and saw Robert standing calmly in Chloe's arms, looking unfazed by the chaos around them. This kid, acting so cool after causing all this trouble?Did he do it on purpose? Was Chloe behind this? On his way over, Arthur had gotten the story—Jenarth had an allergic reaction. The school knew about his egg allergy. But someone put egg bits in his water cup. And when Jenarth tried to talk to Robert about it, Robert hit him. The thought of his own son acting so maliciously made his blood boil. "Chloe, is this what you've taught him? Ever since you left the Myers family, you've become so bitter. Are you now teaching my son to be cruel?" Arthur glared at her, his voice trembling with fury. "Arthur, you never change, do you? Always jumping to conclusions without knowing the facts. You've always been blind to the truth." Chloe let out a sharp, cold laugh. "Chloe!" Arthur roared, his voice echoing through the kindergarten. The children, who had just been calmed down, flinched and hid behind their parents, on the verge of tears again. "Arthur, just leave it. This is my fault. I never should have sent Jenarth here. I never should have gotten involved with... her." Jennifer's voice was thick with hurt. She gently pulled at Arthur's sleeve. "Let's just go. We need to get Jenarth to the hospital. We've already been humiliated enough. What's one more thing?" "No." Arthur's refusal was sharp. He glared at Chloe and Robert. "If Robert did this, he needs to face the consequences. He's young, but this is vicious. If I don't deal with this now, I'm failing him and the Myers name." He turned his stern gaze to Tracy. "Mrs. Carter, what is this school's policy for a situation like this?" Tracy lowered her voice, sounding nervous. "Mr. Myers, this... never happened before. But per our code of conduct, if a student causes serious harm, they could get expelled." "Expel him! He has to go! Who knows which of our children he'll target next!" "Absolutely, expel him! We won't feel safe otherwise." "A kid like that—causing this much chaos at his age?! He belongs in a special school, not here messing up Eaton's reputation!" The other parents chimed in, their voices rising in a chorus, all demanding the same thing—Robert had to be expelled.
