Chapter 189 Arthur's Onstage

Soon, Mirabelle's early designs were found online, and the popularity around this was growing. Everyone flooded Cosmos Group's official page and LOVELESS's site, begging the legendary Mirabelle to start her own account. They really wanted to follow her. People were talking nonstop. The buzz was so huge, the site almost crashed. Back at the event, things were settled. Linda could barely stand. The police had to help her out. Lisa tried to play innocent. She said she wasn't involved with Linda and was just there to be "supportive." She kept saying she did nothing wrong. But everyone knew—once you mess up, you have to own it. What started as a crazy scene was finally over. Landon walked up with the PR team. He told everyone that Cosmos Group would take legal action against all the people who spread lies or hurt the company's name. The internet had rules. It didn't matter who you were—if you did something wrong, you would have to face it. Landon, representing Cosmos Group, shook Chloe's hand. "We're honored to work with a top designer like Mirabelle." Chloe gave a small smile but didn't say anything else. Then Leo came over, looking serious. "We've been waiting ages for Mirabelle to finish the Four Seasons collection. And just like that, Cosmos got her. You owe me for this one." Landon just smiled. "Cosmos and LOVELESS have always worked well together. Maybe we can take it further now." Leo just huffed and didn't commit to anything. "Mr. Snow, Mirabelle, right this way..." Landon started leading them out.Chloe nodded softly and turned to leave, but a voice stopped her. "Chloe!" It was Arthur. He moved to the front of the stage, his eyes fixed on her, full of emotion. "Chloe, can we talk?" Chloe had no time for someone who always had to crave attention. She didn't even look at him. She just gave Leo a calm smile and kept walking. "Chloe! Don't you have anything to say to me?" Arthur's voice got louder. He gripped the railing, his knuckles turning white. He stared at her, almost desperate. "Why did you hide it from me? You know design—you're Mirabelle, that top designer everyone's looking for. You never told me. Chloe, it's been six years. Why didn't you say anything?" That one question got everyone's attention. The reporters were about to leave, but this new drama made them stay. All the cameras turned toward Chloe—and the man confronting her. Arthur! A few reporters recognized him right away: the acting CEO of Myers Group, one of the city's most wanted bachelors. What was Arthur doing here? Did he know Chloe? Was he saying she kept secrets from him? Six years—what did that mean? What was really going on between Arthur and Chloe? Was this turning into a real-life soap opera? Cameras all turned to Chloe and Arthur; at that moment, they became the focus of the entire venue. If Chloe walked away now, it wouldn't look good. Landon glanced around, frowning. He lowered his voice. "If your ex gets exposed now, Cosmos Group can manage the fallout and cover any losses. But... are you okay with everyone finding out about this guy?"Leo heard what Arthur said and shot him a glare that could kill. "Chloe, what did you do to get yourself all this glory? You know where you come from. Some nobody from a fishing village could never be a famous top designer." Madilyn saw Arthur stepping forward and couldn't hold back. She marched up too. All she wanted was to strike first to gain the initiative. Just calling her "some nobody from a fishing village" would be enough to wreck Chloe's image and her future. "Chloe, you hid it well, didn't you!" Jennifer joined in, linking arms with Madilyn and putting on a fake smile. Chloe had planned to ignore Arthur and just go. But he, his mom, and Jennifer just loved the spotlight. They were begging for attention. Chloe took a slow breath. She told herself to stay calm. There was no point arguing with fools.
