The Cherished Pet of Nine Beast Husbands

Chapter 55 Erasing the Truth

There was no such thing as getting something for nothing. Everyone wanted to be the mate of a female with that kind of talent. That was why they became the center of attention across the entire interstellar. Their daily lives and every move they made were posted on lightcore and picked apart by people. For their safety, the government did not even allow them to leave Central Planet. They had not only lost their freedom in disguise, but even their mates had become the followers assigned to them by the Empire officials. Even though these females got to experience the most luxurious life in the interstellar, they became less and less happy. Later, one of them could not take it anymore and tried to end her own life. It was hard to say whether she was lucky because her mate managed to save her. However, after that, she never smiled again. Edric and Damian did not want Emma to live that kind of life. Emma should be free. She should be able to go wherever she wanted and do whatever she liked. She should not be like a bird with broken wings, locked inside a golden cage the Empire built for her. So, when the incident happened and they confirmed that Emma was still alive, Damian immediately ordered the top tech experts from NexusPrime Tech to cut off the Empire's signal from F-268 and delete the footage the system had captured. Damian watched the video several times. "Judging from the angle, this video wasn't taken by the government system. It looks like it was shot by another therian," he said. "Also, Emma didn't appear in the footage. It only showed the Divine Flame falling from the sky." After Damian spoke, Edric pulled him closer and pointed at the video on his screen. "The female in this video, Evie, said that her mate filmed the scene. She also said a level 8 beast attacked her, and the Divine Flame saved her." Damian gave a short laugh. "I know that female. That day, she went into the forest with Emma and another female called Laura. I didn't expect her to throw herself into that kind of trap." He found it amusing. Edric smiled too. "Evie actually helped Emma by doing this. As a thank-you, since she wants to go to Central Planet, we can help her get there." Even though both men could not stand the sight of each other, they still worked well together. Edric did not need to say much. Damian already had his subordinates make Evie's video the top headline on all major networks. To make sure it got enough attention and that the government would see it, he even added a few trending tags for her. After handling that, Damian turned to Edric. "Evie is easy to deal with, but that female named Laura is different. That night, she saw that the Divine Flame saved Ms. Tibarn. She's a good friend of hers. "We can't just use brute force to make her keep quiet. If I remember right, your Violet Obsidian venom can make a therian lose part of their memory, right?" Edric instantly understood what Damian meant. "I'll take care of Laura. I promise she won't say a word about it." Damian warned him, "Remember, Ms. Tibarn can't know that we poisoned Laura and her mate." Emma was too kind. She would never agree to it. Edric knew exactly what Damian was worried about. "Don't worry. I know my venom well. It won't hurt her. It'll only make her forget what happened. "If Emma finds out and asks about it, we'll just tell her we gave Laura a potion that makes people forget things, and that it won't harm her body." Lucien hid behind the couch, listening to Damian and Edric plan how to solve Emma's problem. He could not help but twitch the corner of his mouth, not expecting the mess he and Silas made to end up involving the Beast God. Still, it worked out for him. With the Beast God as their cover, he and Silas could stay completely out of sight. However, Damian and Edric were too bold. Targeting Evie was one thing, but using poison on Laura was a serious crime in the Empire. A crazy snake who acted like a maniac, and a sly fox with no heart. They really were a perfect team. One dared to think, the other dared to act. Lucien shook his head helplessly. It was fortunate that he was here today. For Emma's sake, if those two ever got caught doing something bad, he would help bail them out. Edric packed up his things and glanced at Lucien, who was hiding on the couch. He said to Damian, "Take care of that ugly thing. When I get back, I'll make it look good." Then, he walked to the door, stopped, and added, "Emma values honesty. If you want her to forgive you, you have to be honest with her first."
