The Cherished Pet of Nine Beast Husbands

Chapter 521 Interrogation

Corvin's pupils instinctively shrank when he saw those words. "Silas wants me to go over!" He could tell that Silas was pissed. "How did you upset Silas?" Emma looked at Corvin and asked. Corvin looked confused. "I didn't!" he replied, feeling wronged. Silas was usually level-headed, and there had to be a reason for his fury. What had Corvin done to make him upset? Emma asked, "Come on, think. What have you done recently that might be related to Silas?" Corvin thought for a moment and whispered, "Is it because I asked the lab to delay his orders?" He really couldn't think of any other reason. Seeing Corvin looking terrified, Emma patted his back reassuringly. "Don't be afraid. I'll go with you." She felt that Silas wouldn't be upset over the orders. She didn't know what Corvin had done to make him upset, but Silas wouldn't actually punish him. At most, he'd just give him an earful. "No, I'll go by myself." There was no way Corvin would let Emma come along to get scolded with him. He quickly changed and left Emma's room. Meanwhile, Silas had already returned to his own room. He sat on the couch in his room, the large screen of his lightcore floating in the air. It showed the message where Corvin mentioned about Emma wanting to be charmed. Silas knew Emma well, and she'd never say something like that to Corvin on her own. As soon as Corvin stepped into Silas' room, he saw the message on the screen. His heart skipped a beat. No way… Silas wouldn't figure it out from a single message, right?"Close the door." Silas sat on the couch and glanced at Corvin. Corvin didn't dare speak. He immediately obeyed and turned to shut the door. Once the door was closed, Corvin quickly turned back to explain, "Silas, please hear me out! It's not what you think." "What is it, then?" Silas raised an eyebrow as he looked at Corvin's guilty face. "Are you trying to tell me that you sent that message on Emma's behalf? Or did she send it herself? Also, has she seen all the groups on your lightcore?" Corvin pressed his lips together and lowered his head, not daring to answer. Silas looked at him, his tone sharp and bitter. "So she's seen them all, and she sent that text herself. She's seen those groups with the links I sent you, hasn't she?" Even now, Silas still clung to a tiny, self-deceptive hope. He prayed Emma hadn't seen that group. He didn't want to imagine what she would think after seeing the links he had sent. Corvin didn't want to admit it, but he couldn't deny it either."I only wanted to comfort Emma when I saw you guys talking about her past hardships. I didn't mean to… Well, I accidentally let it slip, and that's how she found out about the groups." Silas took a deep breath. "Why did you add her to the group chats?" "She asked me to. If I hadn't listened, she would've been upset," Corvin explained, looking guilty. "This is my fault. If you want to punish anyone, please punish me, Silas." After all, Emma had discovered it only because of him. If Silas wanted to punish him, Corvin didn't dare argue. Silas didn't say he would punish Corvin, though. Instead, he asked, "What did Emma say when she saw the group chat with all those links?" "She didn't say anything!" Corvin replied instantly. "Emma was just shocked for a moment, that's all. She didn't say we couldn't look at it." It wasn't like he wanted to see these things—he just wanted to learn, and maybe make Emma happy. "She didn't say anything?" Silas pressed his lips together, unsure for the first time about what Emma was thinking. He waved at Corvin. "Since Emma hasn't said anything, let's keep this between us for now. You may go." "You're not punishing me?" Corvin looked at Silas in shock. Silas wanted to, but if he punished him, Emma would definitely ask why. He wouldn't know how to explain himself. "If you don't leave now, I'll punish you. How does a year away from Emma sound?" "No! I'm leaving right now!" Corvin bolted out. What a joke! He wasn't about to get punished. As he opened the door, he saw Edric standing there. Corvin was at a loss for words. Meanwhile, Edric smiled at him. "Don't worry. Silas used his mental powers to block his room. I didn't hear anything. I came to see him about something else." Corvin immediately breathed a sigh of relief. "I'll be off, then." After Corvin left, Edric stepped into Silas' room and closed the door. "I heard everything. Corvin actually added Emma to the group, eh?" Silas sat on the couch and rubbed his temples.
