The Cherished Pet of Nine Beast Husbands
Calum activated his powers, unleashing a force that tore through space itself, striking down the incoming fiery spears with pinpoint precision. Marcus stepped upon the void, conjuring a bitterly cold storm that froze vast areas around him, slowing the movements of the Phoenix. Drake's black dragon body slithered through the meteor belt, drawing upon the unseen energies of the cosmos. Turning into streams of black Aqualons, they surged from all directions toward the Phoenix, trying to extinguish the divine flames enveloping him. Every strike carried the power to destroy the world. The battleship hovered at a distance. Emma watched the footage on the screen, her heart racing as she dug her fingernails into her palms. She saw Marcus' ice shield pierced by Lucien's divine flames, his massive wolf form scorched to black. Drake's swirling Aqualons evaporated instantly the moment they came within 300 feet of Lucien, consumed by the terrifying heat."If this goes on, will they be okay?" Emma's eyes stayed fixed on the battlefield, where scenes of apocalyptic destruction unfolded. Her voice was filled with worry. Compared to now, when the three of them had fought before, it had been nothing more than a casual skirmish. Silas' warm hand gently covered hers as he reassured the woman. "Don't worry," he said, his voice calm and soothing, carrying a comforting strength. "Calum knows what he's doing." No sooner had Silas spoken than the energy storm at the center of the Pantheon Battlefield suddenly intensified. Calum's figure streaked through the sea of divine flames like a silver thunderbolt, tearing across the universe, charging headlong at the overwhelming golden spears. Boom! Each impact struck like a falling star, unleashing a force capable of annihilating everything. The entire battlefield shook violently. The massive meteor belt was crushed into powder by the surging energy, and spiderweb-like cracks appeared across the space barriers. Marcus and Drake were flung far away by the flood of power, unable to approach the heart of the battlefield. Marcus stared in shock at the scene of utter devastation. Was Lucien on par with Calum? The latter was at level twelve, for God's sake! Did it have something to do with Emma's blood? Not only had Lucien gone through Pyreborn, but he might have advanced in rank as well. On the battlefield, the silver light around Calum flared violently. A colossal white tiger, large enough to fill the sky, tore through the energy storm, appearing with fierce defiance. A tiger's roar thundered across the battlefield, making every heart skip a beat. Silver bolts of energy that tore through space swirled around Calum. The mark on his forehead seemed to radiate the supreme authority of the universe itself.Ignoring all the divine flames hurtling toward him, his massive tiger form blurred into a streak of light, appearing instantly before the Phoenix. Sharp tiger fangs glinted with a deadly cold, and with flawless precision, they clamped down on the Phoenix's long, fragile neck. The Phoenix let out a pained cry, yet miraculously did not struggle. The violent energy within Lucien—the kind that could have burst him apart—finally found an outlet, rushing into the white tiger along its fangs with wild abandon. The golden divine flames dimmed visibly, while the silver light on the white tiger grew ever more brilliant. Soon, the massive shadow of the Phoenix dissipated inch by inch into the air. Lucien's tall, slender form emerged from the glow, then collapsed weakly from the sky. Just as he was about to fall into the rolling meteor stream below, the giant tiger tail swung with surprising finesse, gently curling around him and holding him steady. The white tiger shrank rapidly, reverting to Calum's human form.Cradling the unconscious Lucien in one arm, he vanished in a flash, heading quickly toward the distant battleship. Seeing this, Marcus and Drake hurriedly followed. … When Emma saw them return, she immediately opened the control room door and rushed over. "Are you alright?" Calum stiffened slightly at the sight of her, his usually defiant eyes now wary and careful. He placed Lucien gently in a chair, clearing his throat and trying to soften his voice. "Lucien is fine now, Ms. Tibarn." He assumed Emma's concern was for Lucien. However, before Emma could look at him, she noticed the dried blood at the corner of Calum's lips. "Calum, you're bleeding at the mouth. Are you hurt?" she asked anxiously while looking at him. Calum paused, clearly not expecting her to worry about him first. Instinctively, he raised a hand to wipe his mouth. Seeing the blood on his fingertips, he hurried to explain, "It's not mine."He pointed to Lucien lying on the ground. "It's his. His energy was too intense, and he bit his own teeth." Hearing this, Emma finally relaxed and turned her gaze to Lucien in the chair. She froze, realizing Lucien had changed after being Pyreborn. His once fiery red hair was now as black as ink, with only a few faint streaks of red and gold glimmering subtly through the strands.
