The Cherished Pet of Nine Beast Husbands
Beside her, Marcus finished chaining up the elders. Like Emma, he took the storage bands from their hands and emptied them. With a loud clang, a mountain of treasures spilled across the floor. High-grade beast cores, insect cores, rare herbs, potions, crystals… Marcus whistled. "Didn't expect you old fossils to be this loaded." All of this would belong to my female. Neither Emma nor Edric had expected it. The Enchanter Clan, who couldn't even afford a single herb, had elders hiding this much wealth. It was far more than what Emma had in her own warehouse. She immediately turned to Edric. "Take everything to our treasury." "Yes, Emma."Edric called the guards and began moving the hoard. "That's ours!" The elders nearly choked as they watched their life's savings, treasures hoarded for centuries, carried away without mercy. "This is robbery! It's ours—ours!" Emma scoffed. "No herbs in your clan, yet your rings are stuffed. Did these fall from the sky?" "We—" One elder tried to defend himself, but Emma bent down and picked up a shimmering crystal, silencing him. She recognized it—rare material used in battleships and mech construction. She also had some of these in her storage, precious crystals used to craft mechs and warships. Emma remembered that Lucien had mentioned these crystals were exchanged with Malrik. Malrik had discovered a crystal mine on a planet outside the domain, and these crystals had all been mined under his supervision. Her gaze sharpened with contempt. "These crystals were meant for the clan, weren't they? And yet you pocketed them for yourselves." And the beast cores and insect cores too—no wonder the Enchanter Clan is destitute. These old men are siphoning everything away. If this is only what they keep in their rings… who knows how much they're hiding in their actual vault? Emma made up her mind. These old men are going to bleed. "Malrik gave you all these things, and you helped Celia torture him. The least you can do now is use these treasures to compensate him." Her words struck them hard. The elders trembled, faces pale, unable to refute a single syllable—because everything she said was true. Watching their treasures hauled away, they didn't dare glare at Emma. Instead, they all turned their hatred toward Celia. If she hadn't dragged us into this… our treasures wouldn't be gone! Celia glared. "You hoarded all this? When I wanted some beast cores, you acted like they'd kill you to part with them."Served them right. Edric soon returned with new storage bands and efficiently packed away every last treasure. When Celia saw the elders' wealth being emptied, she strangely felt satisfied. The elders, however, exploded. "As if you have any right to speak! Since Malrik became the leader, how many treasures did you take through him? Did you ever return any?" Giving treasures to Celia is worse than throwing them to the dogs. As they devolved into fighting amongst themselves, Emma rolled her eyes. She immediately ordered the guard captain to lock them all up. "Send word to the Enchanter Clan. Tell them to pay ransom if they want their people back." The guard captain received the order and moved forward with his men, preparing to drag Celia and the elders away. The elders are panic-stricken, struggling desperately. "You can't do this!" an elder shrieked, voice cracking with fear. "This is robbery! Extortion!" He glared at Emma. "Ms. Tibarn, even if you don't care about yourself, you should think of His Highness Lucien and Commander Hamblin. They are Empire soldiers—heroes admired by all beasts! If word spreads that their female is a thief, what will the Interstellar Empire think of them? They will be disgraced!" "Wait." Hearing this, Emma raised her hand, signaling the guards to release the elder. Seeing the guards obey, the elder immediately assumed that Emma was afraid.
