The Cherished Pet of Nine Beast Husbands
"Emma has been missing for so long. She must be starving by now. "I've already informed Lucien, and he'll be here soon with people to help search for her," Silas added. He couldn't hide this from Lucien, nor would he even consider it. At that moment, Edric cursed being a cold-blooded beast. Their kind couldn't handle the harsh cold of the snowfields. Over the past day and night, Edric had been searching for Emma outside, collapsing several times from exhaustion and the cold. Silas knew Edric was anxious, but he was in pretty bad shape. He couldn't let him carry on like that. … Meanwhile, Emma didn't know how long she'd slept. When she finally woke, she found herself lying on a soft bed crafted from gemstones.Where was she? Instinctively, she reached up to touch her head. The moment she did, her heart sank. The vines were gone. "Remy…" Where was her little fruit? Panicked, Emma sat up and noticed someone lying beside her. Drake's eyes were closed, his upper body bare, his expression pained, brows furrowed sharply into a deep crease. To Emma's shock, the vines from her head had somehow attached themselves to Drake's dragon horns, near the base. Only two leaves remained on the vine, and the buds were gone. In their place was a small, deep-blue fruit, about the size of a blueberry. Trembling, Emma reached for the vine on Drake's head. But no matter how she tried, she couldn't remove it.She studied it and realized that the vine on her head had somehow ended up on Drake's. Emma felt a swirl of emotions. Although her little fruit seemed fine, it had attached itself to Drake's head. Emma quickly opened her lightcore to contact Silas and the others. Since she was now in a room, she could probably get a signal. When she opened her lightcore, countless messages and missed video calls appeared on the screen. Silas, Marcus, and Corvin had been trying to get in touch with her. The earliest call was from seven days ago, and the most recent had come just thirty seconds earlier. As she was about to call back, Silas' video call came through. Emma immediately accepted it. The next second, Silas appeared before her. "Are you alright, Emma?"His voice was hoarse, full of worry. Meanwhile, he looked fatigued and unshaven, his clothes full of wrinkles. Emma had never seen Silas in such a state. Her disappearance these past days had clearly terrified them. "I'm fine, Silas. You don't need to worry about me. I have something more important to tell you right now." With that, she hurriedly aimed the camera at the deep-blue fruit on Drake's head. "Silas, it's about Remy. It's grown on Drake's head." Silas' eyes twitched sharply as he looked at the deep-blue fruit atop Drake's head. "Is Remy going to be alright?" Emma's voice was thick with worry and urgency. When she had finished giving Drake the mental comfort and fallen asleep, the vine had been perfectly on her own head. How had it moved onto Drake's head while she slept?Hearing the worry in her voice, Silas first spoke gently to calm her. "It's alright, Emma. Remy's just confused, that's all. "Don't worry. Once I get there, I'll take him off Drake's head." Emma stared at the fruit in shock. "But it's already conscious, right? How can it mistake its father?" Silas' voice carried a note of helplessness. "It may have consciousness, but when it first manifests physically, its awareness inside the fruit isn't fully clear. Once it grows a little more, it'll be fine." Hearing his explanation, Emma finally exhaled. Thank goodness Remy was safe. Silas looked at the small fruit, then returned his attention to Emma. He studied her carefully. Seeing that she had no injuries and seemed mentally fine, he relaxed slightly. Then, his gaze fell on Drake, still shirtless and not yet awake. "Emma, did you and Drake…" "We haven't done anything!" Emma quickly interrupted. Just as she finished speaking, the man finally opened his eyes, still dazed from the ordeal. "Emmy!" Look who visited while I was asleep, he thought to himself. Emma stared at him in shock. "What did you just call me?" She thought she must have misheard him. Drake sat up while rubbing his eyes. He repeated while looking at her, "Emmy." He took her hand, his tone carrying a hint of hurt. "Emmy, why didn't you stay with me while I slept?" Emma was speechless. "Emma, something doesn't seem right with him," said Silas, frowning as he watched Drake.
